Currently, there is no particular inbuilt widget for the featured products. We are planning to add such a functionality in future, however, there is no ETA for that. We will let you know when it’s implemented.
Please, tell us what would you like to see in this widget? Would you like to see only images with the links or “Buy now” buttons as well? Your opinion and feedback will help us. Thank you in advance!
However, we can offer you some workarounds, so you can choose which one suits your needs better:
1) You can add the Single Product Widgets the way you need with the help of our plugin for WordPress. You can find details and instructions in the following article: https://support.ecwid.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000633445-FAQ-about-Ecwid-stores-on-Wordpress#oneproduct
2) The alternative way to do that is to manually create an area on a WordPress page, called “Featured Products” using a 3rd-party plugin, for example, a slider. Fill it with your products’ images, and link these images with the certain product pages. Here is the article for you on how to get the direct link to product or category: https://support.ecwid.com/hc/en-us/articles/207100259-How-can-I-get-direct-link-to-product-or-category-
3) The third workaround is to create a separate category called “Featured” and show this category on the home page of your site. Here is the detailed instruction on it: https://support.ecwid.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000633445-FAQ-about-Ecwid-stores-on-Wordpress#differentcategories You can make this category hidden to show it only on your homepage. Please refer to this article to learn how to create hidden categories: https://support.ecwid.com/hc/en-us/articles/207806725-Hidden-products-and-categories#creatingahiddencategory
Hope this information was helpful. Thanks!

In reply to: [Product Advisor for Ecwid] Show products by CategoryThank you for your feedback!
We hope that the widget developer will adjust their widget, so, it will be compatible with Ecwid. Meanwhile, you may want to use the mentioned widgets to achieve what you want.
As for the store opening in the popup. In general, the popup appears because there is no Product Browser widget on the page. To prevent it from happening, you can use ecwid_ProductBrowserURL option. To the website pages with Ecwid widgets, you will need to add the following piece of code:
<script>var ecwid_ProductBrowserURL = "PB_URL";</script>In this code, replace PB_URL with the actual URL where your main Ecwid catalog was added. Please see the guide below for more details: https://support.ecwid.com/hc/en-us/articles/207807865-Opening-the-store-in-a-page-not-in-a-pop-up
In your case, I’d recommend installing Ecwid using our official plugin to the neede page. More details are here: https://support.ecwid.com/hc/en-us/articles/207101259-Wordpress
Hope this helps.

In reply to: [Product Advisor for Ecwid] Show products by CategoryHello!
This is Ecwid customer care team.
It seems that Product Advisor for Ecwid is not supported by a developer anymore. We contacted a developer in order to clarify the matter.
There is a number of great third-party plugins for WordPress that will help you to change the design and functionalities of your Ecwid store: https://support.ecwid.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000635849-Plugins-for-your-Ecwid-store-on-WordPress
If you are looking for a widget that allows you to add a certain number of Ecwid products by category, we suggest using Widgets Avalanche. It will let you modify your Ecwid products and categories into a variety of WordPress widgets including a slider, a popup, an accordion, an autosuggest, a sortable table, a link to an RSS feed for your products.
If any questions arise, feel free to ask!

In reply to: [Ecwid by Lightspeed Ecommerce Shopping Cart] Wrong Internal Shipping PriceHi Colin,
Adam’s here with Ecwid Team.
Thank you for the post!
Each shipping method applies to the selected shipping region. You need to add several zones if you want to apply different shipping prices depending on the destination zone. When you set up a shipping method you will need to set the shipping region, select how you calculate shipping, set shipping rates, set delivery speed and name the method.
Shipping rate is shown at checkout when the destination address is entered. If you had set up two different methods with different prices for two different zones the shipping price will depend on the address a customer enters — it will show the rates you had set depending on what zone the customer address belongs to.
In your case, the calculations were overridden by “Fixed rate per item”. It is set up on individual product [Tax and Shipping] tab. This tab was created so that you can have more options with shipping rate calculation for the individual product. By default, it’s set to “Use global rates”. It is very important that you use global rates on this tab if you want shipping rate of this product to be calculated based on your custom rates.
I hope I was helpful.
Hi Nick,
Thank you for reporting the issue. We are checking it now and will update you on our findings soon. Please email us the additional information for troubleshooting which we’ve requested from you. Thank you!

In reply to: [Ecwid by Lightspeed Ecommerce Shopping Cart] Logging in on wrong accountHi there,
Ecwid team is here to help you. Thanks a lot for your post.
We are extremely sorry, that you faced the problem. Please, let me explain this behavior. When you are logged in to your Ecwid account, your browser remembers the session. This allows you to open your Ecwid Control Panel without the need of inputting your account credentials each time.
Since the info that you logged in to your account is saved in a browser, you can be logged in to only 1 Ecwid account at a time. That’s why when you opened your another website in a separate tab and installed our plugin to the second website, Ecwid thought that you wanted to add the same store to the website as well.
Therefore, if you want to manage two Ecwid stores at a time, you have three options:
To use different browsers for different Ecwid stores.
To open your second Ecwid account in an “incognito” window of your browser.
To close the tab with your first Ecwid store before opening the second one. Also, please, note, that when you are connecting an existing Ecwid store to a WordPress website and Ecwid suggests you the wrong account, you can click the “Not You?” link to log in to the correct one (screenshot).
Hope I was helpful. If you have any questions, please, feel free to ask.
Hello,
This is Edward from Ecwid Team.
I sincerely apologize for the long reply.
I’ve addressed your questions in the following thread: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/change-item-in-the-bag-text-in-product-view/#post-10138471
So please check it out, and if any questions appear — feel free to ask.

Hello,
It’s Edward from Ecwid Team.
I’m incredibly sorry for the radio silence in this thread. Please let me address your questions.
You can change the ‘Back to Catalog’ label the same way as other labels. For example, if you want to use the script, then you can replace the text with your own by changing the following element: CategoryPathPanel.back_to_catalog
So, for instance, your final script can look like that:
<script> ecwidMessages = { "ProductDetails.CartItems.singular":"item in the cart", "ProductDetails.CartItems.plural":"items in the cart", "CategoryPathPanel.back_to_catalog":"Change Back to Catalog text" } </script>where Change Back to Catalog text is your own text you want to use instead of ‘Back to Catalog’
As for adding a custom button, there’s no built-in solution to that. However, Ecwid, in some sense, is an open-source platform.
We have a free and open API available for all of our merchants on paid plans — https://developers.ecwid.com/api-documentation This API allows creating custom solutions and features specifically for your store.
So basically, anyone can develop a custom solution for their store if they have enough programming knowledge — you can do it by yourself, hire a developer, ask a friend, hire our team or anyone you want. It’s totally up to you.
If you need assistance with this, our Customization Team will be happy to help you for an extra fee. If you are interested, please fill out this form: https://ecwidcom.typeform.com/to/vIlijv they will get back to you with the details.

In reply to: [Ecwid by Lightspeed Ecommerce Shopping Cart] Enfold issueHello,
This is Ecwid customer care. My name is Charlie.
Let’s address your question.
I have been having trouble recently with the advanced layout builder with my theme called ENFOLD. The developers say that the problem is with the Ecwid Plugin I have installed.
I’m sorry you faced this. We will be glad to help you!
What kind of problems are you having? Can you describe them in more detail? From the theme developer’s comment, I can surmize, that you are having problems inside your WP admin dashboard, when you are trying to create a new\edit the existing page, is that correct?
If that so, can you illustrate with screenshots what problems exactly does the Ecwid plugin bring up? Thanks!
I reckon, we would need to contact you directly (by email, for example) for further investigation. So I’m going to go ahead, and reach out to you at the email address, associated with your store.
Don’t hesitate to ask further questions!
Hi there,
I’m Edward from Ecwid.
As richbraithwaite mentioned, the best and easiest way to change labels is to use our free app called Label Editor: https://www.ecwid.com/apps/tools/storefront-label-editor
Detailed instruction on changing text labels in Ecwid can be found in the following article: https://support.ecwid.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002823369-Changing-texts-in-your-Ecwid-store
However, as correctly noticed, even though the app is free, it’s available for Ecwid paid plan users only. In case you are on the Free plan and want to change the labels, it’s possible to do with a script.
<script> ecwidMessages = { “ProductDetails.in_bag”:”\ in the Cart”, “ProductDetails.In_bag”:”In the Cart” } </script>This is the correct script from a technical point of view, however, it doesn’t change the “item in the bag” label. If you want to change this label, you need to use the following script:
<script> ecwidMessages = { "ProductDetails.CartItems.singular":"My text", "ProductDetails.CartItems.OutOfStock.singular":"My text2" } </script>ProductDetails.CartItems.singular is “1 item in the bag”
ProductDetails.CartItems.OutOfStock.singular is “1 item in the bag, no more left in stock”Replace “My text” and “My text2” with your own texts.
You need to add the code to the HTML/source code of the store page.
I hope this helps!
Hi Richard,
Thank you for your message! We do apologize for not getting sooner.
can the cart be set to show even when empty
You can force its behaviour using the CSS code below. In your Ecwid Control Panel go to Design – Edit Theme, copy and paste the code into the theme and save the changes.
body.ecwid-floating-shopping-cart .ecwid-float-icons > div.off { height: 48px; padding-top: 20px; } body.ecwid-floating-shopping-cart .ecwid-float-icons > div.off a { transform: translate3D(0, 0, 0); } body.ecwid-floating-shopping-cart .ecwid-float-icons > div.off a svg { transform: rotate(0deg); } body.ecwid-floating-shopping-cart .ecwid-float-icons > div.ecwid-cart-icon.off a::after { opacity: 1; }can the total value be added somehow to the floating shopping cart, e.g. on rollover or otherwise?
You may consider adding the cart in the mini view mode instead that will display the total on hover (although with this type of cart, the drag-and-drop option won’t be available). More information about the mini view mode can be found in our guide: https://support.ecwid.com/hc/en-us/articles/207359999-Minicart#Miniview
Hope it helps. Let us know if any questions arise.
Hello John,
This is Daria from Ecwid Customer Care Team. I’ll be glad to help you!
It is absolutely to connect one and the same Ecwid store to 2 different WordPress websites. Moreover, you can use one Ecwid storefront on numerous sites, blogs and social networks at the same time. All product settings, shipping and payment methods, orders are synced and managed from one control panel. I’ll explain:
If you already have a site (WordPress in your case) – Ecwid integrates into it, but the store itself runs on our servers, specially configured for that. We use our own servers for storing the data and processing the orders. Once you embed Ecwid into a site, it will be functioning as its integral part, yet the store data will be taken from our servers.
So, if you want to install your existing Ecwid store to a different site, you do not need to migrate your settings. All you need to do is download Ecwid plugin on your new WordPress site and connect your existing Ecwid store to your new site. You will keep all the store data, it will still be in the same control panel, it will be the same store, but on a new website.
Here you can find the instructions on how to add Ecwid to a WordPress website: https://support.ecwid.com/hc/en-us/articles/207101259-Wordpress
Please keep in mind that our customer care team will be happy to help you with any requests you may have. So if you face any difficulties with the installation, feel free to contact our support team directly here: https://support.ecwid.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Hope this will help!
Hi there,
Ecwid Team is here. Thanks for your reply.
1. Hidden Product in Search Results
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us on this functionality. Currently we are thinking on how we can improve this and make the hidden products/categories feature better.
For now, if you want to hide certain products from your search results, you may try the CSS workaround.
If you add this code to your active CSS theme in Ecwid Control Panel >
Design:div.ecwid-productBrowser-SearchPage td.ecwid-product-id-PRODUCTID { display: none; }The product with the product id you set (instead of the PRODUCTID part of the code) will be hidden from search results in your store (How to obtain product ID).
2. Shipping Options
As I can understand from your post, you want the shipping methods to be sorted automatically, so that the cheapest shipping method is displayed the first.
Currently, we allow you to manually sort your shipping methods in your Ecwid Control Panel > Shipping & Pickup > Actions > Sort. However, there is no built-in feature that will allow you to sort shipping methods automatically — I’m sorry. I will share your feedback on the topic with our Product Team, so that they know about the interest in the feature.
For now, if you want to implement this feature in your store, it is possible to do this by a custom application based on our API (https://developers.ecwid.com/api-documentation/). Our API allows you to expand the functionality of your Ecwid store in case you need a feature, that was not implemented yet.
If you want someone to develop the app for you, you may consider the development by our Customization Team. You can contact them using this form — https://ecwidcom.typeform.com/to/vIlijv and they will write you back to discuss the details.
3. Ebay
The thing is that our integration with eBay works this way: when your product is out-of-stock, the product is not deleted from eBay, it is quantity is also set to 0. Customers are not able to find and purchase such products. This is implemented to let our customers relist products on eBay when the quantity is above 0 once again without any problems.
Sincerely yours,
Ecwid Team.Hello Stacy!
Thanks for waiting.
Yes, when the plugin is deactivated, a store page is not automatically removed as it may contain some user content like a store description, images and etc. You can keep the store menu item or manually remove it in your WordPress admin panel->Pages.
Please let us know if you have any questions. We will be happy to help.
