    Hello Sandro,

Thank you very much for the honest feedback – we appreciate it since it helps making our product better for you. Of course, we’re very sorry about your frustration it caused for now.

We have to notice that you can still use Bancontact as a payment method in your store thorugh the integration with Multisafepay. Bancontact is available there now, so you might consider using it. Here’s the article in our Help Center on how to set it up with your store: Multisafepay

If you wish to use Bancontact through the IDeal(Mollie) payment method in your Ecwid store or just use it separately, it’s unfortuantely impossible to use it like that for now, indeed. In order to allow that payment method within iDeal(Mollie) we need to update our integration and we are definitely going to do that in future. And also it’s possible to integrate any unsupported payment gateway too by means of Authorize.Net emulation or by requesting a custom integration made for you. It’s described here: What if Ecwid does not support the payment gateway I need?

If Multisafepay does not suit your business for some reason, please also consider using some other payment gateways available for Belgium:

    – Stripe,
    – Authorize.NET SIM,
    – ClickandBuy,
    – PayPal,
    – 2Checkout.

Normally when we choose a new integration with a payment processor to develop in Ecwid, we tend to fulfill the needs of as many clients as we can, so first of all the integrations with the most global payment gateways are developed like PayPal or Stripe. The second step is to develop the integrations for the countries which can not use PayPal or Stripe, for example, so this is why payment mehtods like MultisafePay and iDeal are also available now.

Please feel free to share you feedback on that matter. We’ll be glad to help you further.

    Hi again,

We’ve just looked into your message more specifically and fount one unusual thing in this string:

Warning: include_once(/home1/empower3/public_html/shimmerjulz.com/wp-content/plugins/ecwid-shopping-cart/lib/ecwid_product_api.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home1/empower3/public_html/shimmerjulz.com/wp-content/plugins/ecwid-shopping-cart.1453963199/ecwid-shopping-cart.php on line 3217

Please pay your attention to this exact code:

No such file or directory in /home1/empower3/public_html/shimmerjulz.com/wp-content/plugins/ecwid-shopping-cart.1453963199/ecwid-shopping-cart.php

The plugin’s folder on your website is called “ecwid-shopping-cart.1453963199” for some reason, and not “ecwid-shopping-cart” as needed for correct work of the Ecwid plugin.

Can you please just rename “ecwid-shopping-cart.1453963199” folder to “ecwid-shopping-cart”?

It will fix all the problems.

    Hello,

    Ecwid Customer Care team here.

The contents of your Ecwid store certainly can be indexed by Google with no need of creating different pages in WordPress and keeping single products there. Here’s some information which you might find rather helpful:

Until October 2015 Google was not able to index AJAX applications by default, which is why a special method was created for that matter: Google AJAX indexing. This method is implemented in Ecwid and it still works even though Google can already index pages with AJAX applications by default.

    How it used to work:

    – A Google bot comes to a page with your Ecwid store and a special script is triggered to generate an HTML snapshot of the page,

    – Even though the bot is unable to see the content of Ecwid, it accesses the HTML snapshot of the page which script generates,

    – The bot indexes this HTML snapshot, hence your Ecwid store gets indexed.

This method works out of the box with Ecwid plugin for WordPress for all the users who have access to our API. In other words – all the users on the paid Ecwid plans.

Please find more details about the old method of indexing here: Google AJAX indexing

    How it works now:

    – A Google bot comes to a page of your website with an Ecwid store,

    – The bot sees the JavaScript which is used to launch Ecwid and triggers it,

    – The bot automatically opens your Ecwid store without any side methods and indexes its content.

This method is already working indeed, however since it’s rather fresh, there’s a possibility that it will take more time to index the content than if you use the previous method.

To summarize this: Your Ecwid store will eventually be indexed by Google. It will take some time, but it will (if nothing else on the website prevents the bots from entering it, of course – check your robots.txt file).

As I mentioned, the old method is available out of the box with Ecwid plugin for WP for all the Ecwid users on paid plans. This method is definitely working and can guarantee that the contents will be indexed.

So, creating separate pages is not necessary at all. However, it’s a good solution for some featured products, for example, to help the customers find them more easily. PLease refer to this article about Single Product widget to learn the quickest way of installing the separate products on pages in WordPress: Single Product for WordPress

Finally what can ceratinly help to index your website is a sitemap. You may refer to this blogpost I found in web, for example, for more info.

    Hi,

    Glad to see your reply.

You can see what Ecwid product catalog looks like on Facebook in our demo store here https://www.facebook.com/ecwid/app/251458316228/

All orders that are placed in your Ecwid store are displayed in Control panel > My sales > Orders. In order details you can see which products were ordered, their amount, customer’s name, email address, etc. The details vary depending on what info you ask the customer during checkout. Also, you can set up email notifications to be sent to your email address when a new order is placed.

Please note that Ecwid tracks only those orders that are placed via Ecwid checkout. Orders placed via Woocommerce will not display here.

As for CSS, there is no reason to worry! All you should do to turn your store into a catalog is to paste several ready-made codes from this article https://help.ecwid.com/customer/portal/articles/1178883 to your store CSS theme (Control panel > Settings > Design > CSS Theme). If you need more help with it, you can always contact us on our forum here https://www.ecwid.com/forums/ We’ll give you more detailed instructions if needed.

Let us know if you have any further questions. Thanks.

    Hi,

    Ecwid Customer Care Team here.

Basically, the answer to your question is yes. You can use Ecwid to display your products on Facebook and keep selling in Woocommerce. That is not a common case, as usually our store owners use Ecwid to sell on a website and on Facebook at the same time. Thus they can manage store settings and keep track of sales and inventory in one Control panel.

Here is how you can use Ecwid to display your products on Facebook now:

    1. Create Ecwid store here https://my.ecwid.com
    2. Add products to your Ecwid store. To speed up the proccess, use a csv file. You should export products from Woocommerce in a csv file, change the file format to meet the requirements of Ecwid import format and import the products. See instructions here https://help.ecwid.com/customer/portal/articles/1169545
    3. Add Ecwid store to Facebook. Once you have added the products to your store, it is easy to do it. Ecwid can be easily added to any website, blog or Facebook. Please, see the instructions on how to add it to Facebook here https://help.ecwid.com/customer/portal/articles/1070942#HowtoaddyourstoretoFacebook
    4. Set up your Ecwid store to use it as a catalog. Here is how: https://help.ecwid.com/customer/portal/articles/1178883
    5. You can add a note to your Ecwid store explaining that this is just a catalog and an active store is at the other link. For example, add it to the description of the store root category.
    6. That’s it! Your catalog in Ecwid is ready.

Let me please also note the following things:

    – Since you will use two shopping carts, when you need to add or remove a product, you will have to do it twice: in Woocommerce and in Ecwid. Unfrotunately, they cannot be synchronised. If you need to update many products at once, you can use a csv file.

    – When your product catalog in Ecwid is ready, you can try adding the store to your website to see what it will look like. To do that, you should simply add a code, which you can generate here https://help.ecwid.com/customer/portal/articles/1171115-product-browser#GenerateCode after you register your Ecwid store. If you use Ecwid as a store on Facebook and on the website, you will be able to use one Control panel to see orders and manage the store. Thus, you won’t have to add products to two systems, they will be kept in one. Also, your customers will not have to go to another website when they get to your Facebook store to place an order. Our experience says that when customers have to move from one site to another, that decreases the sales. Please, consider this. If you like the way it will work, we can help you move your store to Ecwid.

You can always contact us on our forum here https://www.ecwid.com/forums Feel free to write.

    Hello,
Ecwid Customer Care Team is here.

It is possible to achieve what you want with the help of ‘Customer Groups’ feature. How it works:

    • once a customer creates an account in your store, you assign them to certain customer group;
    • create a discount for this group in your Ecwid control panel;
    • discount will be applied to the order on the shopping cart page.

You’ll find more detailed info about this feature in this article: https://help.ecwid.com/customer/portal/articles/1345509

Please, note that you can create customers in your account by yourself, more details -> https://help.ecwid.com/customer/portal/articles/1169671#import-customers

The ‘Customer Groups’ feature is available on Business and Unlimited tier plans.

    Thank you!

    Hello everyone,

Just an update from Ecwid here. We emailed Julie regarding the issue, and it was solved more than a month ago. There was the same problem with styles and we just slightly changed the CSS to apply the styles for the sidebar on the Fiber Studio Page.

We believe, Julie simply had no time for updating this thread.

    Hi janomix,

Thank you for the review of Ecwid plugin!

We are sorry to hear about the issue with the design you encountered. At the moment there are different options that you can use to style your Ecwid store:

    – manually using instructions from Ecwid help center and these:
    http://help.ecwid.com/customer/portal/articles/1083332-how-to-change-ecwid-design

    – use the ready application from E-Shop Designer available right now in Ecwid app market
    https://my.ecwid.com/cp/CP.html#apps:view=app&name=e-shopdesigner-ecwidapp

    – Or you can use ready themes from:
    Thematizr: http://thematizr.com/
    Maristany: http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28731

Please feel free to try these options and we hope that they will help you customise the store more easily.
    Thank you!

    Hi wldwil,

Today we released an update for Ecwid Shopping Cart plugin ver. 3.3.1 which should fix that issue.

Can you please update your Ecwid plugin and let us know the results?
    Thank you.

    Plugin Support ecwid_team

    (@ecwid_team)

    Hi wldwil,

Thank you for contacting us and for reporting this situation.

Our developers have inspected your website and found out that this issue occurs when a user goes to one of the categories in that drop down menu and then selects another category from that list.

The links that you have in that drop down menu are basically directed at the same page: /store/ + some hash parameters that open the specific category in Ecwid after you click on a menu item.

In this case the page isn’t reloaded because Ecwid is an Ajax application. The menu itself is created in a way, that if a sub menu item is in focus state – the whole drop down will display. So after you click on a different menu item from drop down list – the focus stays on that menu item and the menu doesn’t go away.

However if you reload the page – everything works correctly. So we see two options for you now:
    1. Place the categories from that drop down menu into the separate pages in your website.

To do that, first you will need to create a page for a specific category in your WordPress admin backend.

After that you will need to edit that page > Add Ecwid store there using the ‘Add store’ button > Click Appearance > Select the corresponding category from your Ecwid store to be displayed by default.

This way the page will always reload once you navigate to another category from that drop down menu and it will fix the menu issue.

    2. I see that most likely people from this website: http://packerlandwebsites.com/ has created your theme, so we suggest that you contact them so that they check the menu and fix its workflow.

As we see, the menu needs to remove :focus state once the menu item from the drop down is clicked.

    Thank you.
