Hello there,
Ruby from Ecwid by Lightspeed Support Team is here. Thanks for reaching out to us!If I get it right, you’d like to show your products in 2 columns. Below I provide you with guides on how to do it.
If you are using the Gutenberg editor in WordPress:
1. Open the store page in your WordPress editor, here’s a screenshot of what it should look like: https://ecwid.d.pr/cosm1H
2. Switch from the Visual Editor to the Code Editor. You will see a shortcode similar to this one, a screenshot: https://ecwid.d.pr/zMF7MZ
3. After the product browser value, add the following one to the shortcode:
grid=”30,2″.30 here means 30 products per page, 2 – two columns.
4. Switch from the Code Editor back to the Visual Editor. You may get an error This block contains unexpected or invalid content. Ignore it.
5. Convert the block from Gutenberg format to classic. In the error message click three dots and select Convert to Classic Block, a screenshot: https://ecwid.d.pr/kIqUFw
6. The shop block will now have a classic appearance. Make sure to save the changes.
If you are using the Classic editor in WordPress:
1. Open the store page in your WordPress editor, here’s a screenshot: https://ecwid.d.pr/SAio8S
2. Switch from the Visual Editor to the Code Editor. You will see a code similar to this one on the following screenshot: https://ecwid.d.pr/gvJSyC
3. Change the grid=”30,2″ parameter.
30 here means 30 products per page, 2 – two columns.
4. Check the page preview and save the changes if they are ok.
Hope this info helps! Feel free to get back to us with any other questions.
Hello,
Thank you for the details and the video.
No. The plugin was not activated until this morning to save the video. However the too many redirects is something that i saw before bbut after reload the page it works all the times. I will check the suggested link anyway.
The refresh of the page doesn’t fix it for me, I’m afraid: https://ecwid.d.pr/QM8noc
But nevertheless, I can see on the video how it looks, so I don’t really need to look at the website for now.
Yes the products and plugin itself worked well during the insertion of the the products allowed. All of them worked well and page load correctly on desktop. The problem start when the Ecwid widget was added to the lateral sidebar of the theme. It shows the products in the sidebar but clicks on it derives in 504 error. After deactivation of the plugin, in the widget bar appears a message that excwid widget was not compatible with blocks. No matter that, i erase the widget but the ecwid plugin no longer loads.
I see. Thank you.
I shot you an email requesting some information that shouldn’t be shared publicly (some credentials). I will have our developers looking at this as soon as I can.
Thank you!
Hello,
This is Charlie, Ecwid customer care.
Let me help out here. We’re glad you liked the plugin! Not so glad that you’re having issues with it, but I think I can help you figure this one out.
During load of the products things worked well. However now when plugin is active the site just get 504 page everytime. Not even the subdomains works and resources on the server goes sky high. The website becomes completely unavailable. The only way to deactivate the plugin was via Plesk dashboard as no page load at all.
Thank you for the details! Let’s start troubleshooting. I have a couple of questions:
- Is the plugin active now? I can’t access your website, and it isn’t a 504 error: the browser indicates that there are too many redirects, and this doesn’t have anything to do with Ecwid.
There is a lot of guides out there on how to fix the error and what it usually means, check out this one, for example: https://rockcontent.com/blog/err_too_many_redirects/
- You mentioned that you were only able to deactivate Ecwid plugin in the Plesk dashboard. Just for extra background knowledge on the situation: are you using Plesk to host your WordPress site, and when you say that, you mean you had to delete the plugin files from the hosting itself, right? And how did you install the plugin originally, was it via the WordPress dashboard?
- You mention that during the product load your website worked well (that includes the WordPress dashboard). So it looks like when the plugin was active, the website worked originally, but then stopped working. Is that so?
Do you recall what else you could’ve changed in your setup before the website broke?
- What is the version of your Ecwid plugin?
Also, when the product widget is added there is a message showing incompatibilies.
Unfortunately, I can’t say anything about that before I can see how the errors look. Please, let me know where I can see them once you fix the too many redirects error on your website. I will check that out as well.
The theme used is Newsever Pro 2.1.2.1
I’ve installed this theme on my test page and Ecwid functions as intended there, you can check it out yourself: http://lamp.ecwid.net/~charlie/wordpress/?page_id=50
So we can rule out the incompatibility with the theme here.
Looking forward to helping you further.
Thanks for reaching us!
As I see, WordPress released 6.0 update on May 22, 2022.
Our developers checked compatibility and updated Ecwid plugin to the version 6.10.21 several days after that. The latest update should have fixed the issue.
We’ve also reached you back via email with more details. Please reach us at support@ecwid.com if any issues with the compatibility of WordPress 6.0 and Ecwid are reproduced, we’ll be glad to help, thanks!

In reply to: [Ecwid by Lightspeed Ecommerce Shopping Cart] Ecwid plugin breaks my siteHello!
Ecwid Customer Care team is here. Thanks for your message!
I’m sorry you’ve faced such an issue!
I see that we have an open case with you regarding this issue. So we’ll continue investigating it and contact you with findings via email.
Thanks. Stay tuned!
Hi,
In this case, you can access the Design tab by following the direct link, here it is: https://my.ecwid.com/#design
Hope this helps!
Hi again @wynot
It’s Amy from the Ecwid team. We’re contacting you again because we need to make sure that it’s not an issue.
Let me explain how it works. If you use the standard page builder for WordPress (Gutenberg), there’s no Design tab, indeed, and you should change design settings in the block where your Ecwid plugin is added.
Though, if you use some other page builder like Elementor, WP Bakery, Divi, etc. the Design tab should be present. Please, let me know if the latter is suited to your case and we’ll investigate the issue further.
Thank you!

In reply to: [Ecwid by Lightspeed Ecommerce Shopping Cart] A Waste of TimeHello!
Ecwid Customer Care team is here. Thank you for reaching out.As I understand, you tried adding an Ecwid store to your WordPress site. I am sorry for the difficulties!
I can assume that you were referring to the Download button on this page: https://wordpress.org/plugins/ecwid-shopping-cart/
If so, there is no need to download it there, you can just install the plugin from your WordPress admin area. Please see the screencast I recorded for you on how to do it: https://ecwid.d.pr/Gl5EpD
Just in case, here is also the path: WordPress admin > Plugins > Add New > Search for the Ecwid plugin > Click “Install Now”.
After that, the Ecwid plugin should be added to your WordPress site.
I hope it’s useful. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at support@ecwid.com. We will be glad to assist you!
Hi @wynot
This is Lullaby from Ecwid Support Team! Thanks for your question.
The “Design” menu item of your Ecwid Admin in WordPress has been intentionally hidden because the WordPress design setup requires you to change design settings in the block where your Ecwid plugin is added.
I’ll tell you how to change your store design on WordPress below:
1. Go to WordPress Dashboard -> Pages and open the page with the store.
2. Click on the block with the store. On the right side, you will see the block’s settings.
3. Change the settings in the block the way you need.
4. Click on the Preview button to see what the store will look like with the new settings.
5. Click on the Update button to save the changes. After these steps you will have your store design changed.
If you change store design settings in the Design tab directly in your Ecwid Admin at my.ecwid.com, these settings won’t reflect on your website as they will be overwritten by the block’s settings.
Hope this info helps! Feel free to reach out to us if any questions arise!
Hello! This is Enola from Ecwid! I am happy to help you.
I decided to check the loading speed and I see that the page https://booksonthepond.shopsettings.com/ loads quickly in 1 second, here are the videos:
If the site takes a long time to load in your browser, I need to investigate the issue.
1.How long does it take for the website to load on your side?
2.Try clearing cache and cookies and check the loading speed again.
Here are the instructions on how to do it for:3.Go to https://www.ecwid.com/internet and send me the info you get there.
4.Try to open the site in other browsers. How long does the site take to load?
5.Pass the speed test and send a screenshot of the results. Here the link to this test: https://www.ecwid.com/internet
6.Please, record the HAR file.As for the scripts, there is no such opportunity to remove these scripts. My colleague explained in detail why these scripts are needed in the Ecwid store. Just in case, here are quotes of my colleagues answer:
1. https://app.shopkeep.com/ecwid/payment/build/checkout.js – this is the script of the ShopKeep payments in your store. It’s preloaded to provide quick loading of the payment method at checkout.
2. https://d2scn539ulxr09.cloudfront.net/venera/static/ecwid-storefront.d2320235e8efd241ecfd3f676dfc6f45.min.js – this one is responsible for loading of the storefront.
3. https://d2scn539ulxr09.cloudfront.net/venera/static/ecwid-checkout.97afc8b5c705d1cc54f9b6508e03a74b.min.js – this script is there to provide smooth switch between the storefront and checkout.
4. https://d20ubqycd8ynev.cloudfront.net/storefront-app.js – it’s the script of the Store Label Editor that you can find in your ShopKeep eCommerce control panel > Settings > Edit store labels.
5. https://ecomm.events/i.js – this is our statistics script that collects anonymized information about the use of the store. Statistics are built using it on the dashboard of your ShopKeep eCommerce control panel.
6. https://app.shopsettings.com/script.js?27691006&data_platform=singleproduct_v2 – this is the script of the Buy Now widget that you added to your website using the integration code.
7 and 8. https://app.ecwid.com/script.js?27691006&data_platform=wporg&lang=en&data_static_home=1&data_g=0000000000 – this is the script of the Ecwid plugin. The second script.js load is because of the preload tag, there is a message in the browser console:
The resource https://app.ecwid.com/script.js?27691006&data_platform=wporg&lang=en&data_static_home=1&data_g=0000000000 was preloaded using link preload but not used within a few seconds from the window’s load event. Please make sure it has an appropriateasvalue and it is preloaded intentionally.Hello again!
May I ask you why you wonder about these scripts being loaded on the non-checkout pages? Are there any issues or concerns regarding it? I’d really love to figure out how to help you in a proper way.
Thanks in advance!
Hi!
I’ve consulted with the team to answer your questions.
Let’s overview all the scripts in question:
1. https://app.shopkeep.com/ecwid/payment/build/checkout.js – this is the script of the ShopKeep payments in your store.
The second script.js load is because of the preload tag, there is a message in the browser console:The resource https://app.ecwid.com/script.js?27691006&data_platform=wporg&lang=en&data_static_home=1&data_g=0000000000 was preloaded using link preload but not used within a few seconds from the window's load event. Please make sure it has an appropriateasvalue and it is preloaded intentionally. This has been fixed in a recent release. If you use the most recent version of the ShopKeep eCommerce plugin, script.js will only be loaded once.
I’d recommend contacting our team at partneraccount@ecwid.com for the latest plugin version.
I hope it helps! Feel free to ask questions should you have any.

In reply to: [LiteSpeed Cache] lsacache breaking ECWIDHi again!
Thank you for bringing our attention to the matter.
After some tests, I’ve been able to reproduce the issue. As of now, excluding https://app.ecwid.com/script.js from localizing resources is the only workaround that makes Ecwid work while LiteSpeed Cache is enabled. We’ll work on improving the compatibility of Ecwid and LiteSpeed Cache.
Thank you!
