Hi mgrmn,
I just ran across your response on this thread. Are you still running into problems with button responsiveness? If so, could you please direct me to your site and provide your web browser and operating system details so that I can take a look on my end? Thank you!
Hi Elektra3,
I apologize for the delay–I only just saw your response. Please, update to our latest release here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/shareaholic/ (This is our completely new, totally updated design, which is in active development–we will soon be retiring v6.)
The new plugin uses a JavaScript action to pass data and redirect the user when the function is called so that the plugin behavior is streamlined within a browser, but it’s still up to the browser in how to handle the target=”_blank” attribute.
When I interact with our share buttons in Chrome, a new window opens in a new tab. When I perform the same actions in IE, a new window (pop-up) is triggered. It comes down to system settings. Your readers will have different experiences depending on their viewing environment.
Hi codemonkey72, I just saw your response and am happy to hear that you found a solution for the problem. Let me know if there are any other issues that you need us to look into. Thanks so much!
I’m not sure what you are referencing, but I am very sorry for any disappointment.
Because our apps can be placed manually using the unique shortcode, they can be added anywhere and subtracted from anywhere. The handling of the positioning is fully customizable and would be relative to your layout. Every site is different.
If you do reinstall our plugin, I’m happy to help you with the positioning if you need assistance. You can contact me by submitting a request in our Support Center–just provide a link to this thread along with any further details, so that I’ll have a point of reference.
Thanks!
Hi Honkytonky,
I’m so sorry that you haven’t received a response until now. I only just saw your message. Hopefully, we haven’t lost you yet and I can be of assistance if you haven’t already contacted us via our Support Center.
Are you having any trouble setting up the plugin? (through the Edit buttons on the options pages)
If our share buttons are unresponsive when pressed, please clear all caches in any caching plugins and then your browser cache to give it another try. If you are still having trouble, there is likely a conflict that we need to identify.
I’m happy to help.
Hi @jackflash101,
I’m sorry that you were having problems using our plugin. If you’d like to give Shareaholic another try, I’d love to help resolve any issues you are encountering.
Were you having trouble configuring your settings? Any details you can provide about the problem would be very helpful. We have updated the plugin since you deactivated if you’d like to give it another go.
Hi Charlie,
Is floating a feature in BuddyPress? Would you mind directing me to a page where I can look at the issue with our plugin while you describe it in more detail?
As for the Google Plus share count, we haven’t yet integrated the counter into this button, but it’s on our task list–so, expect it soon.
Once it has been added into our code, you’ll immediately see an accurate number of shares on the button, just like with Facebook and Twitter, etc. All you have to do is keep share counts enabled and your eyes peeled 🙂
Hi erlines,
The Google+ share count hasn’t yet been integrated into our buttons. This is on our scheduled task list, and as soon as we have implemented the code, you’ll see the counts appear as they do for Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest; just keep your share count option enabled to get the changes as soon as they go live 🙂
Hi there, Halhere. I’m uncertain why you were experiencing a 404 issue. Perhaps you changed your URL structure or deleted some pages/posts? If you do decide to reinstall our plugin, we perform another crawl on your site to recompile the data used to generate the recommendations, which should clear up any broken link issues, just let me know. Thanks!
Yay! Glad to hear it!
Thank you for your patience and helpfulness 🙂
Best wishes to you and you blog!I’m never catching your responses on time–sorry about that. Thank you for the pastebin segment. Before working directly with this information, I’d like us to try something; from your screenshot, it seems that your Read More button is using a float, which is removing it from the general flow of the page and causing our buttons to immediately follow your content, instead of the Read More button. I hope that explanation made sense.
See if adding this CSS into your Custom CSS box fixes the problem:
div.shareaholic-canvas {clear:both;}
Apply the change, clear your browser cache, and check your site again. Let me know if this works 🙂
After updating to our latest release and emptying all caches, is anyone still having trouble with unresponsiveness of the Edit buttons in Safari/Chrome iOS? [This concerns ticket PLG-466 backend fuunctionality]
I’ve tested a few different options in the theme, but still haven’t been able to reproduce the problem while in Chrome (Win8).
I have a few questions…
Under Graphene Theme Options > Display, do you have anything entered in the Custom CSS box?
Under Advanced Options, do you have anything entered in the Custom
<head>Tags box?And what’s visible under Move generated CSS?
Do you have Show social sharing button enabled under General > Social Sharing Buttons?
Is Adsense enabled? General > Adsense Options
Also, is the problem present on ALL pages where you have enabled the buttons or only on certain pages?
Hi YetiYeti,
I apologize that you had to wait for a response. I wasn’t notified of your follow up comments immediately.
Right now, I’m taking a closer look at Graphene to see if I can create a condition of incompatibility so that the problem is pinpointed as your site is currently switched to Suffusion.
So that I can test in a similar environment, may I have your web browser and operating system details, please? Thanks!
