Hi! Please, check your browser settings for this option. Certain browsers allow you to select whether you would like new windows to open as a window or a new tab (while others have adopted the tab-system automatically). I’m using the latest Chrome in Windows 8 and the Email This button opens a new window on my machine. So, give your browser options panel a look 🙂
Hope this helps!
Hi! Are you running Shareaholic version 6.1.3.8? Could I take a look at your site? I’ll just need a link to a specific post where our buttons are installed to run some tests and discuss the issue with our engineering team. Thanks for your assistance!
Hi guys!
Any technical issues you are experiencing, we’d love to investigate those for you. For the most part, people are updating and configuring their settings without running into any problems, but we want to make sure that any issues get addressed ASAP.
Check that you have JavaScript and cookies enabled in your browser settings (and disable any browser extensions that may interfere with these functions). Also, clear your cache. This may actually solve any problems you have with setting services after logging in.
Now, if you are still hitting a wall, any additional information you can provide would be extremely helpful, including screenshots. I’ll share this information with our engineers, and we’ll look for the source of your troubles to get things up and going for you as quickly as possible.
Thanks so much for reaching out to us, and I hope we can remedy any issues posthaste.
Hi everyone! We rolled out a few support documents today to help with the transition. They were rushed, so if we missed answering any of your questions, please let us know, and we’ll get that information to you immediately.
We have many more articles to introduce that will cover working with our new interface in depth, but for now, you can scan through our newest guides here.
We also included information on how to center the share-bar. (This feature will be added to the new interface in a future release.)
Hope this helps!
Hi, everyone!
Just a couple additional pieces of information:We did integrate the shared Twitter & Facebook interface in our other products earlier this year. We slowly released this new share panel, worked on tweaking, and listened to the Shareaholic community feedback; the new interface is designed to support multi-sharing, which has been a major request over the past few years. Basically, you can connect with as many Facebook and Twitter accounts as you’d like and share simultaneously.
So, if you have 3 separate Twitter accounts and a Facebook account, you have the option to add each account within this interface, save these settings, and share to one, two, or all accounts at once without having to sign in and out of each Twitter account as well as pressing the service button multiple times. There are a lot of power-bloggers and sharers out there. I speak with several of them daily while handling support, so it makes sense that we’ve seen this request frequently, and recently, we decided to give this idea a go.
Now, in the past several versions of our plugin, the Twitter button has utilized this interface, and as stated previously, for a couple years, we have been using OAuth as a third-party developer to provide an enhanced sharing and connectivity function that utilizes Twitter’s API.
We pushed out a few starter articles today to help with the transition from v6 to v7. They were a bit rushed, so if anything was missed that you’d like covered, please let us know, and we’ll work on getting that information to you. And you can read a blog post of one of the articles here, which actually contains some screenshots for a little visual guidance while we continue to work on fleshing out the documentation.
If you are experiencing any technical issues, we are ready and eager to get these fixed ASAP. We want to make sure the transition is as smooth as possible, and we performed beta testing with some of our current publishers several weeks before the release to make certain that we addressed any issues which had been missed as well as to receive feedback about the direction of our changes.
We’d love to hear your ideas as we are continuously growing and changing and pouring our love and attention into making our products and services the best available.
An additional note:
Some themes are crafted in a way that can cause issues in where our app hooks into the template. This can affect alignment, but you can use the app’s shortcode (v7+) to manually insert the recommendation cards directly into your theme template files in the exact location where you would like them to appear.
A great thing about the new manual mode shortcodes is that you can even insert our apps into individual posts/pages via the Edit Post or Edit Page screen by using the Text tab, because this code loads the HTML block wherever it is called into the page.
I hope this information is useful to someone! 🙂
To everyone trying out our latest v7 beta release, please contact us directly through our support center with your blog’s web address and any feedback concerning Related Content alignment issues so that we can collect more information and investigate. Thanks!
Hi hrmony17! Thanks for your enthusiasm! Let’s see if I can help. First, I’ll need to take a look at your site.
An easy test to see if the issue is theme-related is to set the buttons to appear below content, then switch your theme to Twenty Ten and clear any caching plugins and your browser cache before checking your site again. If the buttons appear in the desired location, the problem relates to your theme. If they are still missing, clear any caching plugins again (e.g., W3 Total Cache), and deactivate all active plugins, other than Shareaholic. Also, empty your browser’s cache again to make sure you are loading the freshest resources and give your site another peek.
What the above does is allow you to strip out the extra components cleanly to perform quick compatibility checks. I’d love to help get things working for you. 🙂
Which version of our plugin are you running?
Here’s an article concerning the load order of plugins if you’d like to make adjustments: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-to-change-plugins-load-order?replies=11
If you aren’t beta testing with us, you can grab our latest version (6.1.3.8) here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/shareaholic/
Hi awtx!
Thanks for letting us know! We fixed this issue in our latest beta version. You can grab it here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/shareaholic/developers/
Let’s see if you can get things working again by reauthorizing our app.
Please, sign in to your Shareaholic account and visit your account settings panel: https://shareaholic.com/account
Make sure that you have an email address added to your account (and verified) before continuing.Open the Connected Services screen: https://shareaholic.com/account/connections
Disconnect your Twitter ID on this screen.
Now, sign in to your Twitter account in a new tab.Visit your twitter account settings and open the Apps screen to see if Shareaholic is listed on this page. You do not want it to be listed at this moment.
Switch back to the Shareaholic settings tab and press the ‘Login with Twitter’ button to reauthorize our app with Twitter.
Once your Twitter account is synced, clear your browser cache and try tweeting again. Let me know if you run into any problems.
Hi Edee,
We are currently in the testing phase of a complete plugin redesign. More customization options are coming soon, but in the current release (v6.1.3.8), ClassicBookmarks is an out-of-the-box share bar that includes the most popular services.
If you’d like to grab a rough-cut of our upcoming release sooner than later, please email hello@shareaholic.com with ‘beta test’ as the subject line, and we’ll get you hooked up!
Hi Marcelo,
Because our next release is just on the horizon, we’d love to get you in our beta test group. In our update, the Related Content (Recommendations) feature offers enhanced options for customization and custom placement on top of a responsive design.
If interested, take a look at the comment preceding yours to get the details for sign up.
Hi @miavitadolce 🙂
The default settings are recommended (there is a reset button at the bottom of the SexyBookmarks options page), but if you are running into issues, you can follow along with our troubleshooting guide to isolate any conflicts.
Hey Evan,
It looks like there may be a conflict. I see another tiny issue with the rendering. As for the Facebook Like button, take a look at this article.
The good news is: we are prepping for a major release, a complete redesign of our plugin; our new and improved features offer greater compatibility overall.
Right now, we are in the testing phase, but if you are interested in joining our beta test group, please send an email to hello@shareaholic.com with ‘beta test’ as the subject line, and we’ll hook you up!
