Will the website display correctly if you switch to one of the default themes? I am still unable to reproduce the same issue, even in IE 9, so I’m curious if it might be related to a custom theme.
There is also a known conflict between W3 Total Cache and Jetpack, so it might be worthwhile to clear W3 Total Cache, disable it, then set up Jetpack as you desire before re-enabling W3 Total Cache.
if you click the link there is nothing there and hasn’t been since I first tried.
I apologize if the download link never worked. It had worked for me and I did disable it after we launched a new version of Jetpack that had this patch in it.
WordPress is made by Automatic and so is Jetpack.
Actually, no. WordPress.com and Jetpack are Automattic products. WordPress the software, which you download from WordPress.org, is an open source product, separate from Automattic. You can read more about that here, if you’d like.

In reply to: jetpack connect errorKenny: it looks like your site isn’t accessible. When I run tests on it, I either get empty responses from the server or I my connection is blocked by the server. In order for Jetpack to work, your server needs to be accessible for two-way communication with WordPress.com.
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll pass this along 🙂
You can shut off the rest of the modules in Jetpack if all you wish to use is Stats. On the Jetpack menu, click Learn More on a module. A Deactivate button will show up; click on that and it will shut that module off.

In reply to: Jetpack causes admin bar to dissapearThere are known incompatibilities with W3 Total Cache. It is possible something is getting cached and breaking. I’d try disabling W3 Total Cache, getting Jetpack set up correctly, then reenabling W3 Total Cache.

In reply to: Why is Jetpack not seeing my site? Here’s a few things to try:
1. If you have W3 Total Cache installed, disable it and try to reconnect.
2. Disable all plugins except Jetpack and try to reconnect.
3. Change you theme to Twenty Ten or Twenty Eleven and try to reconnect.
If those things don’t work, post back and let us know.

In reply to: Question regarding migrating WPMS to another domain. The client would need to follow the same directions about modifying the hosts file. So, when they want to work on the live site, they’d need to comment out (disable) the hosts file entry. When they want to work on the dev site, they enable the hosts file entry.
This can be a bit technical for the client to work with, but in the end it would save you a lot of hassle with launching the new WP-based site, I think.

In reply to: Question regarding migrating WPMS to another domain.Another solution would be to have your dev server set up from the beginning to use ccs.k12.nc.us. Then, on your local machine, modify your hosts file to point cc.k12.nc.us to the dev server’s IP address. This way you won’t need to do any database changes.

In reply to: Jetpack Error Code@sundigo: If you look at http://blog.devooliveoil.com/xmlrpc.php, there are three blank lines before the text “XML‑RPC server accepts POST requests only.” is output. This usually indicates that another plugin or your theme is interfering with Jetpack’s ability to talk to our servers at WordPress.com. Could you try disabling your other plugins and switching your theme temporarily to Twenty Ten or Twenty Eleven, then connect Jetpack again?
Thanks,
Tim
Hi,
I posted a quick fix for you above that should’ve got you going before a new version of Jetpack came out. The newest version of Jetpack that is out also contains this fix. At that time, I verified that this fix worked on one of my blogs, which was showing the same error you described.
Could you try the following steps, please?
– Disable all plugins, except Jetpack
– Temporarily change themes to Twenty Ten or Twenty Eleven
– Clear your browser cache
– Recheck your blog for the proper settings
– If everything works as intended, turn your theme back on and check for proper settings again. If the error still shows up after you go through the above steps, please post the following information:
– WordPress version
– Jetpack version
– Any caching plugins in use
– OS / browser in useAt this time, I can no longer reproduce the error on my test blog, so any info you can provide would help me assist you in resolving this.
Thanks,
Tim

In reply to: Jetpack won't connectIt looks like something is not working correctly with your DNS. Any time I query “patstech.com” I get a good response. When I try to query “www.patstech.com” I get an error. Check out your DNS settings and make sure everything is okay.

In reply to: Jetpack crashed serverIt would be very helpful to see the PHP error logs at the time you installed Jetpack and the 500 errors occurred. Without that, I’m really just guessing at this point.
I’d also urge you to run through the install process for the PHP curl extension to make sure it is properly installed.
Hi there,
What version of PHP are you running? Do you have any other plugins installed, particularly cache plugins?
Thanks,
Tim
