Hi llis,
the plugin’s main file is being loaded, so it shouldn’t be a path issue. My guess is that file got moved, deleted or inaccessible for some reason. As you work with WP.com, you don’t have FTP access so I’m not sure how would you be able to check which files are on the plugin directory.
Anyway, you should be safe reinstalling the plugin without loosing any data. Just make sure to have the “Keep configuration?” and “Keep data?” settings set to “Yes” (those settings are available on the “Advanced” tab of the plugin settings page). Nonetheless, it is always advisable to perform a backup of your database installation before reinstalling.
Hi llis,
That error is caused because the plugin is trying to load a file that seems not to be present on your server… which is weird because it is on plugin installer/updater.
Do you have any cache plugin or mechanism you can empty? If so, do that and try again, please.
Anyway, please, open a support ticket on our site (here) so we can look into this the soonest. No one else has reported this, so I think this might be something from your installation.
Thanks!
Hi llis!
thanks for your review, we really appreciate it!
I would like to say that the plugin does not have a “hard coded” presentation, as you mention. With the free version you can choose between two different layouts (5 on Premium version, as of release 2.2.1), which you can customize to your liking and site making use of the many styling settings you have available. What is more, you have the live-preview feature, which allows you to see how the box looks like on your site as you change the settings (new on 2.1.0).
You may want to know that the latest release of the plugin (also in free version) has the option to automatically display the author box on:
– All your posts
– All your pages
– All your posts and pages
– Only on those posts or pages you select
Regardless of the option you choose, you may always override that setting by configuring each post or page individually. So you may select to display the author box on all your posts and then disable it on one you don’t want the author box to be displayed, for instance. That makes displaying options very flexible and able to adapt to any user’s need.Let me say that it is not completely true what you say about the “go premium” notice. That notice is only displayed on the following admin screens: “Updates”, “Plugins” and on the own settings page. So it is not displayed on every page of your admin dashboard. Obviously, if you buy Premium version, that notice is not there. Anyway, we are making it dismissable in a future release 🙂
Please, feel free to contact us to let us know any request or suggestion you might have about the plugin.
Hi chadri, happy to had help!
Just to let others know, let me explain here what we told you by email:
About the first issue of not being able to assign the first author on the list, it turned out to be another plugin interference. It works just fine.
Multiauthor/Co-authors feature allows you to assign more than one author to your posts. If you do, you will see how your posts displays an author box showing the profile of all the authors assigned or one author box per each author (you can configure that). Also, bylines are updated accordingly but, due to a WordPress limitation we are not able to overcome, the whole byline can only link to a page, so you can configure whether to make it link to the main author archive page or not to link anywhere. We know that might not be what you wish, that’s why the plugin provides some templates tags so you can make every name in the byline link to its author archive page 🙂
Please, check out this article to know how to integrate those template tags into your (child) theme: https://molongui.amitzy.com/kb/incorporate-molongui-authorship-template-tags-into-your-theme/

Hi Tamas,
not sure it to be the same issue that another user reported here, but from what I can understand of your issue description, I would say this has been fixed on the latest version of the plugin (2.2.0), which has been released today.
Please, update the plugin and take a look. Hopefully the issue you experienced is gone.

Molongui TeamHi Tamas!
first of all, sorry for the large delay on our response, I wasn’t able to check the forum in this period, thanks for your patience.
I would like to ask you for a little bit more of detail: from which version did you update? Did you install any other plugin before updating ours? Is the “admin” user the one that has all the posts “linked” to him/her? Does that user have any bio description on his/her profile?
Could you please open a support ticket on our site answering all this questions, please: https://molongui.amitzy.com/support/?
We will look into it as soon as we get your ticket.

MolonguiHi Siriusly!
the notice you are referring to is an upgrade to premium version banner displayed just on three places: own plugin settings page, plugins page and updates page. So it is intended not to be intrusive, displaying just where the plugin is involved.
I’m afraid there is no way to dismiss that banner without hacking the plugin code.
If you want to provide more detail to us, please, open a support ticket on our website: https://molongui.amitzy.com/support/

MolonguiHi @daedtech!
clicking on the name of the author should lead you to the author’s archive page, just as WP does with registered users. What the plugin does is to replicate that behavior with guest users. If not configured otherwise, the page displayed uses your theme’s author page template. Should you wish to use another one different, you just can tell the plugin to use the one you like (plugin settings > main > Guest author archive pages > template). You can even change the slug to use on the URL.
So, my guess is that grey box with the “mistery man” avatar is an author box displayed by your theme’s author template. I guess you can remove it from your theme’s settings and, as long as you have premium version, include there a Molongui Author box using a shortcode (please, check this article to know how to). In any case, you can just use the template you prefer as explained above.
Our apologies for not having seen your message before, but please, do remember you can have instant access to us opening a help request ticket on our site (here), so you don’t have to wait 2 days for an answer from us.
If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

Molongui Support TeamHi @jmbarroso84!
I would like you to open a support ticket on our site so we can keep a better track of it. Just open it here.
Once solved I will write here any relevant information for other users experiencing the same issue.
About the author’s name being a link to the archive author page, it should be working like that for registered users/authors. However, it is a premium feature for guests authors: clicking on the name of a guest author it opens an archive author page, just as if it was a registered user and using your theme’s template or the one you had configured.
Happy you like the plugin!
Regards,
Molongui Support TeamHi Nseeger!
really happy you like our plugin! That’s the default setting for that option and it can only be changed on premium version. Options marked with a star are premium options, so as the tooltip states, changing them has no effect and default setting is taken.
If you want to fully customize the author box and be able to place it anywhere on your site or make a list of the authors on your site (thanks to shortcodes), please, consider purchasing the premium version here.
Thanks!
