In reply to: [WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Payment Gateway] Payment Method@nanasflowers This is not something that can be enabled with the way the plugin is designed to work at the moment.
If this is something that would really help, could you please add this suggestion to our Ideas Board?
https://ideas.woocommerce.com/forums/133476-woocommerce?category_id=337582
That’s where our developers go to for ideas on things to improve or new features that might be added to the plugin in future updates.
We appreciate your feedback!

In reply to: [WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Payment Gateway] Paypal connection errorI fail when I try to connect my Paypal account.
What happens when you try to connect the account? Do you receive any errors?
When I manually input my credentials, it shows 10002 error when checking out.
This error generally indicates that there is an issue with your PayPal account that stops you from taking live payments. It could be that there is a block on the account, or you have information missing. I’d recommend reaching out to PayPal to verify that the account is ready to take live payments.
You can try to get more details about the error by enabling the Debug Log in PayPal. This is done from WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > PayPal Checkout. Once enabled, if you try to process a payment and it fails, you can check the log under WooCommerce > Status > Log to see a record of the transaction. The log for PayPal Checkout will be the one that has “ppec” in the title.

In reply to: [WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Payment Gateway] Payment Method@nanasflowers What’s listed on the order as the payment method refers to which of the Payment Methods that are listed under WooCommerce > Settings > Payments was used here.
The plugin does not identify between methods used by the same gateway. So, all payments that come through the PayPal Checkout method, whether it was Visa, Mastercard or PayPal funds, will be registered the same.
@creativ3y3 I understand you are not getting an option to capture payment for an order that was authorized.
When you authorize a charge, what is the status of the order that is created?
For this type of orders, the status should be
On hold, and you should see an order note with the following instructions:As noted there, changing the status of the order from
On HoldtoProcessingwill capture the payment. Can you try that and see if it works?@wpallthetime It sounds like you are trying to disable the option for customers to pay using their PayPal account. Is that correct?
If so, I’m afraid that isn’t possible. PayPal is the one who controls what options are offered for customers within the PayPal payment screen. You cannot directly control whether someone gets the option to pay with their PayPal account, or a credit card.
You can disable Smart Payment Buttons from the settings (WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > PayPal Checkout), but the buttons themselves won’t take away the ability for a user to pay with their PayPal funds.
As for your liability in case of a situation like the one you described, I’d recommend reaching out to PayPal so you can talk to them about their policies around fraud prevention and any protections they have for cases like this.
@wpallthetime Out of the box, PayPal Checkout does not include an option to add this sort of messaging to a transaction. The only similar field would be the Invoice Prefix setting – however, I wouldn’t recommend using it for something like this. That is more intended to be a short, one-word identifier.
You would have to instead add this messaging to the product titles themselves. Other options would be adding a notice elsewhere on your store, perhaps on product pages or the cart / checkout process.
Hi @ahmdtaha! I’m a bit confused about what you’d like to change in the checkout process.
Can you elaborate a little on what workflow would you like customers to follow at checkout, versus what the current workflow looks like?
Once we have more details we’ll be able to tell whether this is possible to achieve with the PayPal Checkout plugin or not.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Update changed main feature with variations@henitadesign I see what you mean now. The variation options can be selected from the archive page, instead of requiring the customer to view the full product.
This behavior is not part of the core WooCommerce plugin. I suspect this is functionality that is added to your store by your theme.
You can verify this by temporarily switching the theme of your site to the default Storefront theme, then check to see if those options are gone.
If you confirm this is coming from your theme, you’ll want to look at your theme settings for any options that could help you remove this. Otherwise, you might contact the theme developer to ask for assistance.
If the feature isn’t coming from the theme, you might try disabling all plugins on the site, except for WooCommerce; to verify whether the option could be coming from another theme.
