Does the Data Status light under the Related Content section of your settings page show a Processing or Ready light? As soon as the Data Status light reads Ready, the recommendations should appear for your selected placements on your site. Make sure to clear your browser cache and any caching plugins so that you are loading the latest resources.
Hi! First see if including a placement for ‘Below Content’ under ‘Index’ works. If not, please use the configured Index placement’s shortcode to manually insert the app into your blog’s homepage template by following the instructions here. 🙂

In reply to: [Plugin: Shareaholic] Issues with Twitter Button on New VersionHi acowan,
Shareaholic uses OAuth to access Twitter through their API as a third-party developer. This allows more control over the sharing interface and extends the options available to us through Twitter.
Here’s Twitter’s general overview of OAuth: https://dev.twitter.com/docs/auth/oauth/faq
Through the share data collected since transitioning to OAuth, we have found that Twitter-sharing through our products hasn’t taken any hits and has in fact increased.
We actually integrated OAuth into our products a couple years ago. The only recent change is that we’ve updated the connection interface and integrated Facebook into the share panel to be optionally selected for sharing to both services simultaneously. 🙂
Hey again,
I recommend updating to our latest release, a complete redesign of the plugin. Customization options abound in our new version, including finer control over manual placement, which would likely be the answer in this situation.
To help you transition from version 6 to version 7, please review this article: http://support.shareaholic.com/entries/24777372-Upgrading-from-Shareaholic-for-WordPress-version-6-to-version-7
You’ll also find an accompanying article appended at the bottom to help you in understanding the new settings panel.
Now, each placement in your selected templates (Post, Page, Index, Category) are individual apps with their own configuration settings and their manual shortcode if custom placement within your theme is necessary to handle/work-around custom post types (which your forum generates).
Let me know if you have any further questions, and I’ll be happy to help 🙂
Hi codemonkey72!
Could you please direct me to a page where I can take a look at this issue? That would be super-helpful–thanks!
When you open your Index button placement Edit screen, have your preferences been saved as you expect? Which services do you have selected to appear for your Index and are they set to above or below content? Also, could you please provide me with a URL so that I can take a look at your site? Thanks!
Hi Melaman67 🙂
If you haven’t taken a look in the General Website Settings section, you’ll find a cool new feature for the Related Content app that you may want to checkout. Let us know what you think!
Hi Marcelo!
We’ve made version 7 extremely designer/developer friendly. You can substitute your own image headline for the share buttons with the instructions provided here: http://support.shareaholic.com/entries/24846703-How-to-use-a-custom-Header-image
And we’d absolutely love to see the final result! 🙂
Hi @kblundy!
I had one of our engineers check for functionality in iOS and everything came up clear. Could you verify that you haven’t disabled JavaScript? Pressing the buttons in the settings panel triggers a JavaScript action to open the edit panes.
Are things working properly in a non-mobile OS, such as OSX or Windows? I have viewed your site and the apps are visible on my end–they have also been customized. So, I’m hoping everything is working well for you now.
Hi again, Marcelo! We haven’t yet updated the SexyBookmarks release channel, but we will. Because it is our older entry in the WordPress database, there are more publishers on this update channel, and so, we released on the Shareaholic channel first to get feedback from the community and work on fixing any issues. We’ll have it upped to the SexyBookmarks channel soon 🙂
Hi guys! I appreciate your feedback and would like to know how you feel we can improve v7. We’re making a lot of changes to best fit in with the community’s input.
Our redesigned plugin offers pretty much all options available in v6.1.3.8, along with many additional features. We’ve rebuilt all of the apps and refined the settings interface to remove the bulkiness and make the setup process less intimidating. The apps have also been optimized and allow for separate configurations and more customization.
We’ve enhanced all of the features based on feedback we’ve been gathering for the past few years. Because of the new cloud integration, we’ll also be able to integrate new options and roll out fixes without having to release version updates for every change. It makes the plugin more lightweight and more compatible with the WordPress platform along with the most popular plugins and themes. 🙂
Hi Mren,
You’ll need to have your website ‘online’ before the Related Content app will be able to crawl your site data and generate recommendations. It ties in with our Analytics feature to assist in the selection of related content. If it’s still on localhost, we do not have any data, which is why the app appears to not be working. Once the site is live, you can check the Data Status light to see when your recommendations are ready, and at that time, they will appear in your selected locations.
As for the Arora and Konqueror browsers, we test in all major browsers when developing our products, but begin development in Chrome. If there is a rendering issue in these two browsers, I can pass this information along to our engineers so that it can be investigated further. If there are rendering issues in other browsers that you’d like to report, I can take this information as well and make sure it gets to the rest of our team. Thanks!
Could you direct me to a page on your site where I can test and investigate further? Thanks!
Hi @pajuka 🙂
Our Facebook buttons work like our previous SexyBookmarks and ClassicBookmarks Facebook buttons. We’ve removed the Additional Button set that included the Facebook Like, but have kept the Facebook Send function. We’ve been discussing the Facebook Like feature and how best to integrate it back into the plugin. Watch for future updates.
As for translated German Texts, the Related Content headline is fully customizable; allowing you to enter your own personalized text to replace ‘You may also like:’ …you can update the share buttons headline and replace it with your own image through a customization.
Here’s a couple articles you may want to read:

Hi @motion,
This sounds like it may be an issue with your theme. However, if you are using a plugin to generate the form, there could be a conflict. Please reactivate Shareaholic and momentarily switch to the theme Twenty Ten, clear any caching plugins and your browser’s cache, then scan through your site’s content to see if this issue is still present. Let me know how this goes–Thanks!
