In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] Dif pw for dif categoriesHello @tommyfalk,
Thank you for reaching out to us!
Yes, this is possible using our PPWP Pro plugin and the Access Levels extension.
PPWP Pro (main plugin) gives you premium features to password protect your single pages, posts, and custom post types. We’d like to include some features as follows:
- Set multiple passwords for protected content.
- Unlock multiple pages with the same passwords.
- Unlock all protected content using Master passwords.
Meanwhile, our Access Levels extension enables you to password protect entire post/page categories, then set different access levels for the content.
To password protect post categories, you can achieve that with our PPWP Lite(free) version. Check this out: https://passwordprotectwp.com/docs/password-protect-wordpress-categories/
Let us know if you have questions.

Yes, we support protecting videos and audios that are self-hosted, our PDA Gold & Video extension are exactly what you’re looking for.
Please check out our demo at the bottom of the page:
https://preventdirectaccess.com/extensions/protect-wordpress-videos/- The files are encrypted through the video players and there is no way for average users to get direct links and download them
- The video/audio file URLs are protected against direct access and search indexing

In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] Translation with WPMLHi @aemtia,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Could you please share with us which front end text that you can’t find please?
Awaiting your reply.
Hi @aggk,
As you’re using WP Engine, you can consider enable “Keep Raws URL” option to the protection works.
Or create 2 PDA Gold Redirect Rules on WP Engine User Portal.

Hi @aggk,

>>>I tried protecting an image from direct access. From what I understand this copies the image to a “_pda” folder, however this location is publicly available for direct access?
No, this location isn’t publicly available for direct access.
After protect an image with our PDA plugin, the image will move to “_pda” folder not copy the image to “_pda” folder.
You can also turn on “Disable Directory Listing” option if you don’t want others to browse and view all of WordPress folders and subdirectories. (supported on PDA Gold version)
>>>Does PDA -plugin take care of all path changes to “_pda” (on places where the image is exists on the site)?Should not this new “_pda” location be blocked from direct access?
I’m not sure you fullly understand you.
Do you mean will the PDA plugin update the image URL which embedded on your page/post after protect, right?
If it’s correct then yes. You can use our Search and Replace feature to update it.

In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] Not working without login to WordPressHi @lsgsrd
Thank you for reaching out to us.
It seems that you want the protected files (which protect by Prevent Direct Access (PDA) ) to be accessible without log-in ( once the customer enters the password to unlock the page protected by PPWP).
Please note that this feature is exclusively available in the PPWP Pro plugin and the PDA Gold plugin.
For further details and to understand the necessary requirements to implement this feature, you can refer to the following link: https://passwordprotectwp.com/extensions/prevent-direct-access-gold-integration/

Hi @mortaza,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Easy Digital Downloads is a plugin that helps you easily sell digital products on your WordPress site. However, the disadvantage is that the client who purchased the product will be able to share the product URL.
You don’t have to do any extra configuration to use two plugins together.
The only thing you need to do is to protect your files with our PDA Gold plugin and set file permissions to the customer. If they share the URL, the client who hasn’t made a purchase won’t be able to access the file.
For more details, you can refer to:

In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] noindex not set in tagHi @esyrett,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Don’t worry, we’re here to help you.
What version of PPWP plugin you are using? PPWP Free version or PPWP Pro version?
If you’re using PPWP Pro version, could you help to navigate to PPWP Setting and check if the “Block Search Indexing” enable yet please?
It’s also possible that the content was indexed before being protected by our plugin, and would still appear in search results. In that case, you should remove indexed pages and posts from Google search manually.
