Seems that you are using a quite old version of our plugin! I’d highly recommend upgrading to the latest version.
If after the upgrade the problem persists, you can add this in your theme’s CSS stylesheet:
#wplc_message_div #wplc_name::placeholder, #wplc_message_div #wplc_email::placeholder, #wplc_message_div #wplc_message::placeholder { color: #000; }P.s: The plugin is now 100% free, there’s no PRO/PAID version.

We are currently looking into this matter and how those requests can be optimised.
p.s: As you understand in order to have real-time chat experience a lot of requests need to be sent back and forth for polling.

I suspect this is related to the “Enable chat dashboard and notifications on all admin pages” option. Is it enabled? (it’s under General Settings).
If yes, please disable it and see if that solves the issue.

2000 ajax calls a minute is way too many. In order to troubleshoot this we need information about your setup as well as the scenario in which it can be reproduced.
Setup info like:
– WP version
– Plugin version
– PHP version
– Chat mode (On-premise or Cloud?)
– any plugins you are using + themeScenario in detail like:
– how many agents online
– specific screen the agent is on while this is happening
– exact steps the visitor is taking to initiate the chat
– exact steps the agent it taking to handle the chat
– at which exact point of the conversation this is happeningForum: Plugins

I am afraid there’s currently no way to do that unfortunately.
You can try enabling the “Automatic Chatbox Pop-Up” option under “Settings -> Chat Box” and select “All Forms – Show chatbox forms and fields” and see if this saves a step.

There is currently no standalone app to be managing the live chat. As you correctly said, it is available only through WordPress dashboard.

I am afraid I cannot replicate this or Firefox or Chrome. Can you please check if it makes any difference being logged in/out? Maybe it happens only if you are logged in?

Could you please tell us exactly how to replicate the issue? By visiting the URL you posted nothing weird is happening.
P.S: We might consider adding an option to exclude the chat on posts/pages in a future release. 🙂

You can change the transcript one under Settings-> General Settings -> Chat Transcript Settings
