  • It’s a browser issue. We can’t get it to work with IE. We switched away fro IE to Safari 3.0 and it is working great. It’s also working in firefox 2.0.0.11. Also, make sure it’s turned on in your WP profile.

PS-we always had problems with wordpress on MS IIS servers. Hope your luck is better…

What they need is a way to list what version of WordPress the plugins have been tested to work on. Old plugins will either slow down or point blank not work on newer versions of WordPress, but people have no way of telling if the plugin they want to use will work properly with the version of WordPress that they have. Something as simple as a designation like “This plugin has been tested to work properly up to version x.xx of WordPress” would be nice. Without a system like this in place you’re going to see people having problems with their WordPress/plugins, especially when they update WordPress.

If anyone has any trouble with this please email me as I do not visit the support forum as much as I should.

@jwurster – none of the links for that plugin on your site are working. People can’t leave a comment to tell you about this, because there is no way to register and/or login to your site, and you force people to login before leaving a comment… Can’t find any email info either. If you could post a working link for this plugin that would be great. Thanks.

Is this for the comments text box?

Wouldn’t two smilies accomplish the same thing?

I think changing hosts just because “my WordPress cannot display my wysiwyg editor” would be quite extreme.

Don’t change hosts just for this. We have one of the best hosts on the Net and it still doesn’t work for us. We click the checkbox, and as soon as we click ‘save’ it becomes unchecked again 🙁 We’ve landed a man on the moon decades ago but we still can’t get a wysiwyg editor working? Weird.

How about a really nice comments text box plug-in with coding buttons and a smilie section? Tinymce doesn’t work for everyone.

THANK YOU so much rudolf45! I was looking everywhere for how to do, it but never thought about looking on top of the text box. Thanks again 🙂

Unfortunately it doesn’t work if you use widgets.

Looks nice. Some links didn’t work though. There is a plug-in around which lets you know about 404 pages which you might want to install 🙂

“Because something is on the web doesnt make it free game.”

No it doesn’t, but unfortunately those who ‘grew-up‘ on the net seem to think that everything on it is free for the taking. I think it comes down to a lack of respect for other peoples things. That’s why we encrypt our source code. Images can always be protected with server scripts and also Digimarced services.

This is a wonderful application of Flash and even on dial-up it doesn’t take long to load. Great use of colors. However, as a designer I’ve got to say that all Flash sites should also have a link provided for a standard HTML version. Not everyone understands Flash and having a traditional HTML site should be provided for them. It’s just good coding etiquette. Other than that I wouldn’t change anything, and I certainly wouldn’t worry about those people who use IE. When they want to see webpages rendered properly they will start using a browser that complies to web standards. I would just add the HTML section and be proud of your work. Great job 🙂

“So do you guys think maybe I should log by cookies instead?”
All they have to do is clear their cookies to vote again. It’s only a mouse click. Logging by IP is the best way to prevent this.

“I DO want to log SOMETHING to prevent one person voting a million times.”
    See above.

You’d have to change the header code. If it’s a really small logo you could always place it right in front of the blogs title.
