In reply to: [BotBlocker] [Plugin: BotBlocker] Accused me of being a spambot!I also found myself unable to comment either from the front of my site or from the back end, so have disabled it for now awaiting what I’m guessing will be a bugfix on admin comments.
I’m very eager to deploy it permantently, though, because spam-comment storms on the thousands of posts on my site have resulted in cripplingly high CPU spikes at my server in the past, and I had to close comments on old posts. Akismet is great, but it would be better to block spammers from submitting comments in the first place — and CAPTCHAs are a UX nightmare.
I just tried it out on a video site I run and had the same problem: works fine with Vimeo, but doesn’t do anything to YouTube videos.
I’ve been remiss in following up here: my remaining problems with the post editor page were indeed the fault of another plugin (Organize Series), subsequently fixed by an update. Thanks again, Johan, for the quick response.
Thanks. The icon does now show up in the HTML editor. I still have a problem with a doubling up of the HTML and visual editor icons, but that might be another plugin.

In reply to: White Screen of deathSo like the others here, I get the white screen whenever I try to edit functions.php. I figured it had something to do with the spacing, but I’m encouraged to hear I’m not the only one this happens to. It really makes me think that all the emphasis on child themes these days is misplaced: it’s fine for developers, but for us ordinary mortals, give me a simple, old-school theme that I know how to hack without having to touch the g-d functions file!
