In reply to: Pretty Permalink Problem on Go DaddyI’m looking at the site and all does appear to be well. Have you resolved the issue or are you still running into errors? If it isn’t resolved, let me know what specifically is occurring and I’ll review it and see if there is anything we can offer to help correct the problem, though, as I’m looking at the site, all does appear to be working now.
Thanks.

In reply to: Godaddy – Unbearably Slow Hosting3×7,
I’d love to get more details. The free hosting that comes with our domains currently is a one page setup called “Instant Page” that wouldn’t be able to run WordPress at all. If you do have a hosting plan from when we had ad-supported hosting, then you’d possibly be on an older server.
I’d be happy to look at it for you if you’d like to provide a domain name.

In reply to: Godaddy Windows or Linux serverhamword,
I’m glad you made the switch to Linux. It’s definitely a better choice for WordPress. It’s related to how PHP runs on Windows web servers versus Linux. Any php application, not just WordPress, would run better on a Linux server.
Of course, this may change with future Windows server operating systems, but that’s how it is for now.

In reply to: Unable to use Jetpack on GodaddyAlso, have you tried removing and reinstalling the JetPack plugin? To test, I just installed WordPress manually and added JetPack. The Publicize module is available for my test account without any apparent issue.

In reply to: Internal Server errod wordpress and godaddyThat’s no problem. Just perform the downgrade in your account and let me know that you have… or you can call Support afterwards. I’ve already notated your account explaining the situation.
Glad to hear you got it working, by the way. Was it a simple tweak?

In reply to: my username doesn't exist???dejast545,
I do see the site you referenced loading without issue. Are you still having trouble getting into your admin area? If you’re using an aliased domain on a friend’s hosting account, your friend should be able to help you with access to the files you need in order to update your password and/or see what email address you used when you set up your WordPress content.
Let me know if there are any issues still after that as well.

In reply to: How To Register My Domain Name To Go Daddyfisayolonge,
To link a domain registered with one company (in your case, WordPress.com) to another company’s hosting (in this case, Go Daddy), you need to change a setting for the domain name which is done on the first company’s side. What you need to change is the set of nameservers assigned to the domain.
So, first, make sure your hosting account is setup on the Go Daddy side. Then find the nameservers for the account – you can follow the instructions here ( http://x.co/pZjL ) or call Go Daddy Support for the info. Once you know what nameservers you should be using, log into your WordPress.com account and assign them in the domain management area. WordPress has a help article that explains how to make this change – http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/
Just be aware that it takes some time for a nameserver change to take effect. Technically, it can take up to a couple days, but it’s usually much much faster than that.
Hope that helps.

In reply to: Internal Server errod wordpress and godaddyjroakes,
My apologies to you. This thread was overlooked while some staff was out of the office. We should have responded sooner.
What the support response was saying is that the code of the site is causing a loop. Meaning, there is essentially a near-never-ending request for the page or some element on the page, possibly the effect of each request causing an additional request. Eventually, this causes the user to hit the maximum concurrent connections allowed for the account which is what a 503 error normally indicates.
Often, when we see a 503 error, this is because of legitimate traffic causing the site to hit its max connections. Regarding the upgrade to Deluxe, I assume a representative suggested that to you when they saw the 503 error since, in those legitimate traffic situations, an upgrade would help by raising the limit for the account. However, in your case, it’s a coding issue causing an abnormal spike in connections which would hit the limit of a Deluxe account as well. So, for you, upgrading is not the answer. If you don’t need the upgrade, you’re welcome to downgrade back to the Economy plan. Just let me know, and I’ll review the billing ramifications.
Unfortunately, what I can’t diagnose is the exact code that’s causing the problem. Since you only see it when using the Nimble theme, I must recommend contacting the theme’s author for assistance or switching to another theme you find suitable. I apologize that I can’t do more to resolve the issue.
Please let me know if there’s another area where we could assist or if you choose to perform the downgrade.
Good luck to you,
Alon
LighthouseMediation,
Since you’re hosting with Go Daddy, what you’ll want to do is be sure to point your domain at your Hosting Account Nameservers with Go Daddy.
First you’ll want to locate your Hosting Account Nameservers. Here’s how to do that: http://go.me/XU
Once you’ve determined what your nameservers should be, you’ll want to update your domain to point to these nameservers. If you’re domain is registered with Google Apps, you should be able to update this information using the instructions here: http://x.co/pN2x
Once everything propagates, you should be able to access your DNS in your Go Daddy hosting account and see the correct site.

In reply to: Internal Server errod wordpress and godaddyIt sounds like the theme is causing a redirect loop of some sort, though, again, without more information I’m merely guessing.
Please post back with the incident number and I’ll be able to dig deeper for you.
However, if removing the theme did resolve the issue, then it’s something in the theme’s code that’s creating it. I can’t guarantee we can find a solution for the code issue, but it’s definitely worth looking at.
Let me know that number and I’ll see what I find out.
