The was a conflict with the Pro/Premium version of Simple Link Directory at https://www.quantumcloud.com/products/simple-link-directory/
Version running was 8.0.0 and no indication of upgrade needed. Website says current version of the software is 10.5.0 but an actual licensed download of pro was version 11.5.2. Go figure. 🙂
Don’t trust the Simple Link Directory plugin so will migrate away from it soon.

Basically with Multi-role timeout checked you get the Select Roles but no dropdown.
If you click on “Reset Advanced Settings” for less than 1 second you will see the expected dropdown of roles but then it immediately disappears
I am setting up a staging site to test with all other plugins disabled and even change the theme if necessary. Will advise.

So I decided before I turned everything off and switched themes and disabled all my plugins, I would repeat the sequence that generated the “update failed” error. Yes it repeated, but then I decided to select a different document from the blocks dropdown, the second document worked. BIG Surprise. Then I went back to the first document to see if the error would repeat again on the same document but it worked as intended the second time. I have now tried all my documents and can no longer reproduce the error. Go figure. 🙂
I think I understand the nofollow better now and why I will leave it.

I’m the one who checked the box in the first place for a custom role I created. The problem was when I went back to find it, it wasn’t there because I had the capabilities schroll area at the bottom and did not see anything. Then I realize I wasn’t really at the bottom when I saw “Additional Options:” at the fold. All I need to do was scroll to the bottom of the “Dashboard” to pull the option into view.
No problem now that I know where it is. 🙂

Same problem here. I reinstalled, change settings to default, max script time set to 0 which is max without success. Max number of retries increased to 10. Server load was disabled, tried medium.
Backup says completed and shows up in DropBox. Log shows warnings. Concerned about the backup.
Installed UpdraftPlus until I/we figure this out. Prefer to use Backwpup.
Host is SiteGround with php 7.x and site is ssl and using cloudflare cdn if that helps.
Any ideas?

Having similar problem.
Auto Authentication with Google works and selecting profile works but upon Save get “invalid UA code”
If I manually authenticate everything works fine and no errors but don’t get the benefits of plugin.
When I go to view source of page is says the following with no UA code:

Since this plugin hasn’t been updated in 4 months, and they haven’t responded to you in 3 weeks, and the plugin is not 4.7 compatible, I and going to look for an alternate solution even though I love the plugin.
[added comment] I just reran the compatibility check at wpengine and now it says it is compatible.

Thanks. I have contacted them but apparently this has been an issue for 3 or 4 years and they have promised to resolve and have not.
This may be an unfair question, but as a WP user is it unreasonable to expect that a free or premium plugin clean itself up when it is deleted?
Does WP Sweep clean itself up if deleted?

Same problem here on a new WP install. Are your installs upgrades or fresh installs?
Updated exiting site on same hosting running WP 4.3.1 and BackWPup 3.1.4. Upgraded to new version 3.2.0 and backup works flawlessly without error.
Checked to see if all BackWPup plugin files were updated thinking a file may have been missed on the fresh install.Disabled all plugins on fresh/new site and switched to 2015. Same Error.
Both sites are running PHP version 5.6.12.
