Hey Lars,
It sounds like your blog is using custom post types on the main index. Because of this, you should use Manual Mode to call our buttons into the preferred locations in your theme. Take a look at this article to get started: http://support.shareaholic.com/entries/23339402-Custom-Post-Types-in-WordPress
If you need additional help, please contact us through our support center by submitting a request, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks!
Hey Rory,
Thanks so much for being part of our publisher community 🙂
Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to disable TopBar on only mobile devices at this time, but I understand your point and think it’s a great idea. I’m going to pass your feedback along to our product team to see if we can add an option for this in one of our upcoming releases. Thanks for reaching out and helping us to improve Shareaholic!Hey miss trishadee,
Under Functionality Settings on the SexyBookmarks options page, you’ll see an option marked: “Want to know about new products?” – http://cl.ly/image/0z0y1s3e2h3o
Select ‘No’, save you changes, and you’re all set! 🙂
Thank you for contacting us by email in our support center. We can continue troubleshooting through that ticket.
Manual placement does not need to be within the loop, but placement will affect what data is passed along to the service (e.g., title, photo, URL).
Manual Mode is very commonly used by those who utilize custom post types on their blog as we do not currently support custom post types. The shortcode that calls our buttons will need to be placed in the correct post-type template.
Here’s the article in our support center concerning Manual Mode: http://support.shareaholic.com/entries/23339372-Using-Share-Buttons-in-Manual-Mode-on-WordPress
Could you please contact us through our support center by submitting a request, so that I may speak with your specifically about your blog? Include a link to this forum thread and your blog’s web address. Thanks!
Hey Karen,
Could you contact us from our support center so that we can provide individual assistance and delve deeper into this issue? http://support.shareaholic.com/home
Just contact us with a link to this thread and your theme information, as well as the URL of a page where this issue can be observed if it’s available to be viewed. That would be incredibly helpful. Thanks!
If you haven’t contacted us directly yet by sending a request in our support portal, I’d like to work with you specifically in identifying which plugins are affected by our TopBar script. You can reach out to us here: http://support.shareaholic.com/home
With your help, we’ll be able to perform some tests and investigate further to see if we can locate and patch any conflicts. Thanks!
Hi Mark,
It looks like I didn’t catch this message when it was posted. The TopBar slides down after the page has been scrolled a bit. The way the person chooses to scroll doesn’t affect how it functions; it is fixed to the top of the screen and won’t push your content up or down, because it is an overlay. You can scroll up and down and still see all of the content on the page whether the TopBar is visible or in a dormant state.
I’m not sure how it is ‘breaking’ your site. Is having it active interfering with certain features and functionality? If so, we’d love to look into the issue and iron out any bugs. If the TopBar isn’t conflicting with another plugin/script or your theme, it does work as intended, sliding out from the top once the reader has scrolled and disappearing when near the top of the page.
Hey everybody! We just rolled out an update a couple days ago that should have fixed the bitly API key issue. If you are still having problems, please submit a request at our support forum for individual assistance, and we’ll be happy to help! http://support.shareaholic.com/home
Hey again, could you check what happens when you remove your API key and username from the bit.ly shortener settings? After making this change, clear any caching plugins, CDNs, and your browser’s cache, then go ahead and check the Twitter share dialog again. If you are having the same issue, I’ll need your browser and operating system information so that I can test in a similar environment as this is what I’m getting on my end currently: http://cl.ly/image/3u05123Z0k3t
Thanks for your help!
Hi! We are working out a few kinks in the URL shorteners currently. I did check your post and this is what populated in the Tweet dialog: Gallery sample – http://goo.gl/LJczC via @ReasonandFolly
Have you switched to the goo.gl shortener, or does your tweet populate with a different short-link than mine (in your current settings)?
Hi! It’s in both spots. Here’s where it is on the page I linked: http://cl.ly/image/0U373j0R291E and when you click, it switches to this: http://cl.ly/image/292x2424433R
But yes, that’s the bookmarklet. Because the problem is also happening there, it is a Pinterest issue. You can contact their help desk to give them a head’s up and have a new ticket created.
Thanks for taking a look so that we could pinpoint where the problems lies. You can reach out to us anytime in our own help desk: http://support.shareaholic.com/home
Happy blogging! 🙂
Hi! Could you try something for me really quick? Shareaholic uses the official Pinterest Bookmarklet. You can find it here.
Please, add the bookmarklet into your browser on your iPhone and revisit your post. Now, compare what you see when clicking the Pinterest button in our plugin to what you get when using the bookmarklet. This will let us know if there is a bug on our end.
Keep me posted with your results. Thanks!
Hey everyone!
If the buttons were visible previously, but suddenly vanished and have yet to reappear and you have performed a clean install, please take a look at our troubleshooting guide to help in identifying any conflicts that could be causing the visibility issue: http://support.shareaholic.com/entries/23359296-General-Troubleshooting-Process
Make sure that you have cleared and deactivated any caching plugins as well as reset and disabled any CDNs. Both of these can interfere with updates taking affect immediately.
If all else fails and you need additional help, send a support request here for individual assistance and include details on what you have tried, your results, and a web page I can view where you are having this problem so that I may investigate. Thanks!
Hey James,
Could you reach out to us here so that we can help you individually? I’d like to take a look at your site to check a few things. Thanks so much!
