Hi @deesignz,
Thank you for reaching out,
I’ve tested the gallery with WordPress 6.8.1 on my end, but I wasn’t able to replicate the issue you described.
To help me investigate further, could you please share the URL of the page where the gallery is glitching? This will help me find the issue and provide you with an appropriate solution. Thanks!
Hi @vikazz,
Thank you for sharing the page URL having the issue,
Firstly, the image looks fine from my setup, as you can check from the screenshot here.
Since the issue was resolved by downgrading WordPress and the images are coming from your theme (not NextGEN Gallery), it doesn’t look like a conflict with the plugin. For your confirmation, please refer to the screenshot here.
I recommend contacting the theme support team, they should be able to help with the distorted thumbnails.
Thanks.

Hi @jasonracey,
Glad to hear that the suggestion worked out for you.
Also, thanks for confirming it was caused by the “ShortPixel Image Optimizer” plugin. You can reach out to the team and hopefully, they’ll be able to address it soon.
Let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks!

Hi @gsghert01,
Thank you for the awesome review!
We’re glad to hear that NextGEN Gallery is your gallery plugin choice, and we hope you continue to have an awesome experience using the plugin.
Have a good one! 🙂
Hi @jasonracey,
Thank you for reaching out,
Upon testing the same version of the NextGEN Gallery plugin and PHP on our setup, and everything is working as expected. The error doesn’t appear on the Manage Galleries page, and the image displays correctly when the gallery is opened.
I suspect one of the plugins you’re using might be causing the problem, so please try deactivating all the plugins one by one and check if the problem resolves.
Once deactivates, you can re-activate the plugin one by one to find the one causing the issue.
Let me know the updates after doing so and I will get back to you.
Thanks.
Hi @digihulpdienst,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We’re happy to hear that you had a good experience with our support team!
Regarding the free version, the plugin is designed to offer a simple and accessible way to create basic galleries for users. It’s perfect for users who are looking for an easy and simple solution without needing depth knowledge. We believe a plugin should be accessible to everyone, not overly complex or overloaded with features from the start.
For more advanced gallery needs, we offer additional features separately on the pro version. We’ve carefully balanced the features between both versions to meet the needs of both basic users and those who need more advanced options.
We truly appreciate your feedback, and we’re always working to improve both versions of the plugin. If you have any suggestions or further questions, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to help!
Thanks 🙂

Hi @thomsonson,
Thank you for reaching out,
The image description field supports HTML formatting, so to have the line breaks you’ll need to manually add <br> tags where you want the line to break.
That said, I’ll also discuss this with our developer team to see if we can improve anything that doesn’t require adding <br> tags when breaking the lines.
I hope this helps! Could you please let me know if you have any questions?
Thanks!
Hi @mariogroleau,
As I mentioned earlier, the image ID is added to the database and removes the image when added to the new gallery. When the image is added to the new gallery, it takes the new ID.
To overcome from the situation, you’ll either stop moving the image or change the image ID manually on the shortcode or wherever you have added once you move the image from one gallery to another.
However, I’ll definitely pass your feedback along to our team as a feature request.
I hope this helps! Could you please let me know if you have any questions?
Thanks!
Hi @gerdski,
Thank you for reaching out,
We were aware of the issue, and it was resolved with the NextGEN Gallery version 3.59.11. Updating to the latest version should have fixed the issue.
If the error is still appearing, I suggest you download a fresh copy of the latest NextGEN Gallery and, then replace the one from your site’s Dashboard > Plugins > Add new plugin > Upload plugin > Choose File (with the files’ override when being asked) to see if that’ll fix the issue?
Let me know the updates and I will get back to you.
Thanks!
Hi @kiwihawk,
Thank you for contacting us,
With the NextGEN Gallery, it doesn’t have the option to display the galleries in random order. It will typically show them in the order you’ve arranged them in the album.
However, you can sort the galleries inside the album by Gallery ID, Filename, Alt/Title text, Date/Time. Under the IGW, you can find the option to sort the gallery as shown in the screenshot here.I hope this helps! Could you please let me know if you have any questions?
Thanks! 🙂
