Hi @glowball,
Thanks for the update! It’s great you added more storage and are uploading smaller images. WebP is definitely worth trying for smaller file sizes.
I’ll pass along your suggestion for offsite storage to our team. Let me know if you need anything else!
Thanks!
Hi @rederstreet,
We’d be happy to help!
It seems that you are using the paid version of NextGEN Gallery. If you have an active license subscription with us, could you please submit a support ticket through the NextGEN Gallery account dashboard when you have a chance? For more context, WordPress.org’s goal is to ensure that paying customers and free users get the best support they can, from the ones that can give it.
The WordPress.org forum is moderated by volunteers and as volunteers do not have access to the paid products, they recommend reaching out to the authors of the code, as the issues you are having involve paid gated features, it is better to avoid mixing it with the features of a free plugin or theme.
From there, our support team will be able to take a closer look at your request.
Thanks!
Hi @michelemj,
I’m sorry for the delayed response,
I understand how frustrating this issue must be. Could you please try deactivating all plugins, including the NextGEN Gallery. Once plugin have been deactivated, please re-activate the NextGEN Gallery first. Once it’s activated, start reactivating the other plugins one by one to see if a specific plugin might be causing the conflict.
Just be sure to back up your site first or test on a staging environment if possible!
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

Hi @rpittam,
Sorry for the trouble,
It looks like there’s an issue with the HTML escaping that results in the automatic backslashes being added in front of the quotation marks (single or double).
A report has been created about this issue to notify our development team about it and team is currently working on it so the fixed has not been released yet. I apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime.
Could you please let me know if you have any questions?
Thanks!
Hi @david8500,
Great to hear you got that sorted, and thank you for taking the time to let us know. Feel free to get back of any issues or questions, and we will help you further.
Thanks!
Hi @glowball,
Thanks for reaching out,
Currently, NextGEN Gallery doesn’t support importing/exporting the image to cloud storage. I will add a vote on your behalf to this feature request. Also, there is no known workaround for the time being.
I apologize that we can’t provide what you’re looking for right now, but I appreciate the suggestion and any other details you may be able to provide! It’s always helpful to get insights from our users.
However, I recommend you to use WebP image format that’s the most lightweight web image format now to save some disk space as well as to compress the images, which in sum can give up to 75% space reduction compared to the non-compressed JPEGs.
I also suggest checking this wonderful article regarding the images’ optimization for some further helpful details: https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/speed-wordpress-save-images-optimized-web/
I hope this helps! Could you please let me know if you have any questions?
Thanks! 🙂
Hi @david8500,
Thanks for reaching out,
It seems to be an unexpected behavior from NextGEN Gallery that deactivates other plugin upon its activation.
Firstly, could you please confirm if you’re using the latest version of the NextGEN Gallery i.e 3.59.6. Whatever the case is, I recommend you re-installing the NextGEN Gallery and check if it fixes the issue or not!
Once the plugin is re-installed and activated, deactivate all other plugins and gradually activate each plugin one by one to pinpoint any possible conflicting plugins.
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks
Hi @t40,
Thank you for reaching out,
It looks like the issue with the NextGEN Gallery and Umlaute has been fixed for the album’s name, as they appear fine from my end. For your confirmation, please refer to the screenshot here.
Let me know if the issue gets replicated again, and I will check in detail further.
Thanks!
Hi @areach,
Sorry for the trouble,
It looks like there’s a bug in which certain characters and HTML is not parsed and not displayed properly on the lightbox mode.
A report has been created about this issue to notify our development team about it. I apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime.
As of now, I can’t currently provide an ETA for when a fix will be released. However, I’m taking note of your query, and will make sure to send you an update after the fix for this issue is released.
Thanks!
Hi @androidandreas,
Thanks for the response,
If the goal is to display the multipage image, you can create separate galleries for each image and display them. The gallery then can be displayed in various display type from slideshow to others.
I hope this helps! Could you please let me know if you have any questions?
Thanks!

In reply to: [Photo Gallery, Sliders, Proofing and Themes - NextGEN Gallery] file sizeHi @amine12400,
Thanks for reaching back,
Could you please try once disabling the fontawesome by navigating to Other Options > Miscellaneous and set “Do not enqueue FontAwesome” to Yes.
This might help you avoid the use of JavaScript Fontawesome file on your end.
Thanks
Hi @androidandreas,
Thank you for reaching back,
Basically, NextGEN Gallery doesn’t allow the option to upload the PDFs. So you cannot upload the PDFs file into it. Simply convert the PDF file to an image file, and then upload to the NextGEN Gallery.
Also, when you use the Slideshow gallery layout or any other layout, the gallery chooses to display under that particular gallery type will be affected. For example – If you have two galleries A and B. For galleries you can set the gallery layout to be different one that you’ll set for B. So entire galleries of the site will not be effected.
Thanks!
Hi @juttley,
Thank you for the kind comments and review!
We’re glad to hear that Soliloquy is your slider plugin choice, and we hope you continue to have an awesome experience using the plugin.
Have a good one! 🙂
Hi @asm08,
Sorry for the trouble,
I suspect it to be a conflict between the Firelight WP and the NextGEN Gallery plugin. If the issue gets replicated again, I suggest deactivating the Firelight WP plugin and check if the issue with lightbox and Image Sorting works fine or not!
Let me know the updates after doing so and I will get back to you accordingly.
Thanks
