In reply to: [Easy Updates Manager] Updated easy update manager to 7.0.3 and get warningHi @litchfie,
It turns out that it should be your hosting restriction over
open_basedirphp directive. I can’t really suggest you what its value should be, but it has weird double slash it it
D:/InetPub/vhosts//litchfieldalumni.org\;C:\Windows\Temp\I’m not sure if that is the cause.
Do you use any one of our plugins? UpdraftPlus Backup, MetaSlider or WP-Optimize? If so, those plugins didn’t throw any warnings? If you didn’t have them installed, please try UpdraftPlus and let me know your experience.
So that We can be sure that it is Easy Updates Manager has issues and fix it.

In reply to: [Easy Updates Manager] Updated easy update manager to 7.0.3 and get warningHi @litchfie,
It looks like it is a path issue because of the use of
/instead of OS generic separator. We’ll investigate the issue and update you the outcome.WordPress core sends email notification about background updates. Easy Updates Manager simply uses it. You can disable email notification, if you would like to.
From the message you posted, it seems like a third party plugin or theme is scheduled to check for updates every hour which causes the issue, Let me know if it is not the case and from when you are seeing this. Thanks

Hi @phloo,
You’ll get email notification for core, plugin and theme updates were made.
We are working on the mail notification feature for available updates, if updates are turned off.
select updates for active plugins by defaultI don’t see much value in this, may be I misunderstood?
If plugins are deactivated it doesn’t matter whether it gets updates or not or do you have any particular scenario in your mind?If you want to keep a copy of custom developed and/or old plugin version, you can always turn off individually.
I’m marking this thread as resolved, please feel free to reply, if you have questions
Hi @toronto-seo-guy,
We are considering this. The problem is if a plugin or theme as frequent update (say every week), then a delay of 7 days causes no update at all. We are looking at it and will update you soon

In reply to: [Easy Updates Manager] Easy Updates Manager and UpdraftPlusHi Guy,
Yes. UpdraftPlus will make an automatic backup before Easy Updates Manager does automatic updates.
It won’t take an automatic backup, if you are using
Force Updatesfeatures from Advanced tab of Easy Updates Manager. We are working on it, with next release of UpdraftPlus it will also work.Regards,

In reply to: [Easy Updates Manager] Plugin auto update causes deactivationHi @richards1052,
Easy Updates Manager doesn’t change the way WordPress updates plugins / themes. It just automates it. So there is no code in EUM that causes plugins to deactivate.
My guess is that two modules may depend on each other’s version and has code to deactivate itself, if the requirement is not met. But it is just a guess. All I can assure is that EUM doesn’t have such code that can deactivate plugins. Also, EUM works without any issues with premium plugins that uses same update mechanism as WP

In reply to: [Easy Updates Manager] “Updated” plugin to a completely different pluginHi @julie-lawrence,
Sorry to hear that. Do you mean your
Codecanyonplugin is replaced by wp.org plugin?
https://wordpress.org/plugins/team-showcase/If so, it is default behaviour of WordPress. Even if you don’t use our plugin and update manually, it will be replaced, because both seems to have same name and slug.
You can use
Customauto updates andSelect Individuallyin plugin section to turn off auto updates for single third party plugin.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Easy Updates Manager] Plugin is not workingI got email and I guess your domain starts with
babylon
There has been 23 cron event scheduled and many run hourly. I’m not sure which plugin altered the default behaviour of runningwp_version_checkevery 12 hours to hourly recurrence.I have fixed those things. It still (force updates) didn’t work. I suppose its because of large no. of cron jobs in queue. I hope it will be fine in few hours.
You can only delete pending cron jobs from database. If the problem persist, could you please send apache error log file? I can be accessed from your hosting account and provider can send it to you.

In reply to: [Easy Updates Manager] WordPress 4.9.6 not updatingHi @dccs52 and @oakhillman,
Like you said WP checks for updates every 12 hours and when it is available Easy Updates Manager does updates your site. It is a cron job, so there needs to be some visitor to visit your site to trigger the crob job. Or there may be too many cron jobs in queue that causes the delay.
If you happen to have WordPress 4.9.3 then you need to do manual update. See the bug details here…
