In reply to: [REQUEST] Looking for designers to modify WordPress skinsI’m looking to buy a slightly used Cadillac Escalade… needs to be in excellent condition… I can spend $200-$250 dollars, depending on tire tread and how much gas is in the tank.
I’d also like to have someone come and build me a house… I can offer $1,500 for labor and I’ll split the cost of supplies.
Most importantly, I’m looking to acquire an island… needs to be filled with exotic bikini-clad women who will become my property as well… offering $4,000-$5,000.

In reply to: How to get rid of space at top of header?*ahem* …where’s the CSS for your header? Didn’t we have this conversation already? 🙂 Ctrl-C,Ctrl-V… otherwise someone has to go to your site… manually find your stylesheet from your index page code… then manually load your stylesheet insome text viewer of whatever sort… then fish for the important stuff. Show the main structural elements of your CSS…andif that’s inconclusive we’ll say so and have you paste more.

In reply to: Amazing blix mod – how to do?Technically you could say my website is based on Blix, but I have rewritten so much of the style and code that the only thing really left that resembles Blix is the contact page and the code behind my paging and comments.

In reply to: How to prevent downloads of audio on my blogAgreed. Anything being sent to another browser (or coming in to your browser) can be ripped.
If you’re looking to just stop the non-saavy people from copying it, though, you should contact the author of the plugin. There’s a good chance that he/she already thought of this option or could tell you the change in Macromedia Flash to make to add this option.

In reply to: Can’t get Background width and footer width to changeOk. Next time just cut and paste some code here and there’s bound to be someone who’ll see the problem. 🙂
I just spent the last week neck-deep in some advanced CSS development so it’s rather fresh on my mind. Fluid column widths, rounded corners with border highlights, minimum widths in IE… all with CSS.

In reply to: Can’t get Background width and footer width to changeWithout code nobody will be able to help you. I don’t want to be rude, so I won’t suggest that if you don’t know how to display code on here then you have bigger problems than your widths… instead I’ll say, you need to cut and paste (Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V) the structure portions of your stylesheet (like header, footer, main, wrapper, container, whatever)… they are usually the one’s beginning with #’s.

In reply to: WTF! They even spam shoutboxes!!Yeah, when someone deceptively attempts to subvert my protections and privacy, that I have set specifically to block them and they know it, with the intent to hock some product that couldn’t be peddled through legitimate means… the first thing I say is “Wow, this is someone I really want to conduct business with.”

In reply to: NEW Theme – dark – edgy – flashyWow! Thanks everyone for your kind comments and feedback. Since I posted last I made the whole thing expandable in all major browsers. This was a painful chore I could not have accomplished without the help of guidance on http://www.positioniseverything.com. The site now has a minumum threshold size above which the center column will expand so the whole site fits nicely in a browser window.
Ok, ok. I admit it. After last night I was ready to delete Internet Explorer off my computer… it really is horrible for CSS. The hacks I had to use to accomplish what I did were excruciating (sp?) to anyone who has had formal computer programming education. The only salve is that hacks are how you get the stuff to work in the industry (real world). 🙂 …so I was a bit used to it.

In reply to: NEW Theme – dark – edgy – flashyOops, that last line was supposed to read “…so it’d be cool if I knew…”. Must’ve been tired.
vkaryl – Do you moderator-types have a direct messaging capability on here… or am I lookin’ at it. 🙂
