In reply to: Can I do this with WordPress Plugins ?Yup….
ronchicago, I’ve never used Jerome’s myself, UTW’s the only one I ever used (and that was for a brief while a year ago or so, I don’t think the whole tagging thing has much intrinsic value really) – I know a couple of people who use it though and they think it’s better than UTW overall.

In reply to: Replacing the default header (oh yes, I’ve searched)Or “container” (my pref), or “maincontainer” or “layoutbox” or “mainbox”…. There’s no one true way…. and there’s no technical need to call it anything in particular – whatever works for you….

In reply to: Cannot Type In Post BoxWell, gee…. I just did a fantastico install on one of my domains. It works just fine, Otto; no posting problems at all (not that I’m going to use it – it’s 2.1.2 so I’ll be deleting it shortly). And as far as “no one” else having this problem: besides the three people in this thread….
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/107297?replies=52 (which has several more users reporting troubles of this nature)
I’ve got probably 20 fantastico installs (and I’ve done over a hundred with it over time). They all work just fine (caveat: they are NOT 2.1+). It’s not fantastico….
For those of you having problems, try reading over the thread I linked to here. Some of it’s QUITE interesting. Some of it may even be helpful.

In reply to: Installation issues with nearlyfreespeech.netWell, let us know how it goes. Hope they can help you get the index file problem sorted out!
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Installation issues with nearlyfreespeech.netWell, I can’t see the faq page as it requires member login, but if you’ve uploaded wp you have an index.php page already. If you create another one, wp won’t work period – it has to have the index page it comes with.
Did you check with your host tech support about the problem?
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Installation issues with nearlyfreespeech.netDid you check with them to make sure they have index.php enabled as a viable index file? Have you checked to be sure there’s not an index.html file in the root folder or whichever folder wp is installed in?

In reply to: Military army themeHey, Chaaban…. if you get hold of the guy, and get the theme, post up okay? I’d like to have a copy myself for a text game I’m running.
pezastic, arrow icons on which sidebar where?
Yup, that works. But the best way every time is xampp from http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html – they’ve already done all the hard work….
There are similar versions for linux and mac.

In reply to: Where do i start to get this theme.I honestly can’t help you, I haven’t seen one for download in I don’t know how long. You might try searching with google for “wordpress theme left aligned”.
Good luck.
[Edit: if you have friends using themes like this, ask them where they downloaded them?]
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Increase font size pluginWell, search google for the Batavia theme. It comes with a font sizer (a js file) and the code in the theme (not sure now which file it is, just have to look through it to find the relevant code) to implement it. It’s not a “real” plugin, it’s just an external js file and the head link to call it, plus the code in the theme to implement the upsize/downsize.
