In reply to: Where do i start to get this theme.I personally never stick around sites all squinched to the left like that. Even right-aligned is better – marginally. But that’s a personal pref.
Look around at http://themes.wordpress.net/ – and yes, I know the thumbs on the first 3 pages haven’t been uploaded yet. Just click them to look at the themes. Or click what type of theme you want to see using the selections in the sidebar, and just look at those after sorting.

You keep saying “wrapper goes into header area” but so far I’m not seeing that these two themes overlap anything from the wrapper area into the header.
Maybe you need to state exactly what it is you’re seeing on your end that’s causing you to think the wrapper’s overlapping the header, ’cause right now, those two themes are displaying exactly the way they’re supposed to.

It does some backend stuff with wp – I’m not real sure what borks specifically if you pull it out, but I’m betting it’s one of those “bitecha” things – you know, the sort of thing that gets you from behind when you least expect it…. takes a hunk out of your kiester, and disappears laughing to its den, slavering over your bleeding flesh….
Honest. Pick one of those themes that best fits what you want to do, and tweak it. And if you get stuck, post up a new thread here, and we’ll try to help. Oh, and keep my email addy around just in case.

Anyway, yes, there are dozens of plugins listed (with a fair amount of info on what they do) on the page to which I linked. And there are links to other repositories from there as well. You should be able to discover plugins to help with your other needs there.
And I apologize for the brevity of my earlier reply – the shrimp was ready to eat, as opposed to burnt.

In order to help further, I’d need a link – it’s a practical impossibility to figure out what you’re talking about without seeing it. And no, a screenshot will NOT work – I need to see the entire code plus graphics in situ.

Suggestion: next time you need something a bit more complex than adding a new email address with netfirms, when you call them, insist whoever answers the phone transfer you immediately to a supervisor, and when you reach a supervisor, insist that you be transferred immediately to a second-tier support tech.

So, can you get a current backup dump of your database? I don’t know how Netfirms handles that. If you can’t get it yourself through phpmyadmin, INSIST that tech support get one for you. Gormless idiots, those guys, but keep after them.
Now, regardless what else happens, go to google for your site – the cached version. You should be able to get some posts back (copy n paste) using that. Then look up the Wayback Machine, and see how you can go about finding your site in it and see if you can get back some of your posts using that.

I’ve set up versions of this theme on (at last count) 15 sites for clients, and every one of them displays just fine at ANY RESOLUTION (even the ones where the theme is sitting square in the middle of a sea of white at 1900×1600 or whatthehellever) including 800×600 on a 15″ screen…. (though I do have to say that macs don’t display it quite as well over all res’s…. then again, if you’re doing macs, you need to say so, so that those of us who have no clue about them don’t try to foist our pc-oriented experiences off on you….)
I haven’t tweaked one damn thing as far as basic layout – just colors, graphics, page listing, sidebar widget tweaks, that’s it.
So what are you trying to do? Link?
