In reply to: DATABASE ERROR MESSAGES help! Are you on Dreamhost? This seems to be a fairly regular error on their servers. Your host – whoever that may be – needs to deal with this. IF you have a recent backup of your database, you’re probably not in bad shape. If you don’t, and they insist they can’t help you, it looks like you’re screwed.
This IS a host problem, not a wp one.

In reply to: Replacing the default header (oh yes, I’ve searched)Heh…. welcome to the fold, thebrianster…. (in other words, there IS life after kubrick….)
And ain’t real work etc. a bitch? Been there done that – tweaking is SO much more fun!
[And yes, the really odd thing is that it did NOT used to be this difficult to replace the kubrick ugly blue blob. I haven’t a clue what happened, but obviously SOMETHING did…. whatever that something was, it was NOT RIGHT.]

In reply to: Replacing the default header (oh yes, I’ve searched)You’re all confusing the usability of the platform itself with a “default theme” chosen by a bunch of web20 geeks not for its usability but on some nebulous beliefs that the real world doesn’t comprehend.
Just go get a different theme and quit worrying about the “default” (like the rest of us have done over the last 2+ years….)
Kind? No. Realistic? Yes. [And in the amount of time all of you have spent trying to do something with the “default” theme, you could have downloaded an easily-tweakable theme like I gave a link for earlier and been 3 days into posting.]

In reply to: Theme SwitchingThe theme switchers (assuming they work with your version of wp) should be showing the theme switched to on all pages. They always have when I’ve used them in the past (though to be fair, I’ve not used any of them with anything past wp 1.5+ – I got over that sort of thing….)
