Hello @socialdream
The error “Uncaught Error: Cannot instantiate interface” usually means there’s a conflict with a plugin or a corrupted update. To help us investigate this issue further, could you please let us know, which PHP version your sites are running on?
Hello @sproutchris,
Yes, the latest release of the plugin already includes the fix — there’s no need to install the ZIP manually anymore. Let us know how it works once you have a chance to test it.
Hello @dennishall
Thanks for your patience. We have fixed the issue. Please, check the results.
Hello @manmohanmca2023
Yes, CleanTalk works with WordPress Multisite. Here’s the guide to set it up:

Hello @dennishall
We’ll double-check the reported vulnerability against the most recent data and contact the plugin developers if needed to clarify the status. It’s possible that our system flagged the free version incorrectly based on version number patterns.
We’ll update the database accordingly if we confirm that the vulnerability doesn’t apply to the free version anymore. Thanks again for the heads-up — we really appreciate it.
Thank you for the details @andromeas
We’ve shared all the details with our development team for further investigation. You can expect an update within 3 business days. If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to let us know!

Hello @vkprog!
Thanks for the detailed report.
- For the permalink issue — we’ve prepared a patched version of the plugin that fixes this behavior. You can download and install it manually from this link: https://github.com/CleanTalk/security-malware-firewall/releases/download/fix-version/security-malware-firewall.zip
- For the second issue — the strange bot-like traffic is unfortunately common. Bots often crawl random, non-existent URLs to find vulnerabilities. You can try enabling Anti-Crawler and use the Firewall tab in the plugin to limit access based on IP or country. It won’t block 100% of bots, but it helps reduce noise significantly.
Let us know if the patch works for you and what you find after trying the protections!
