We are aware of this bug and will be fixing it in a future release. Thanks for the report!
What browser are you using? When I do this, the comment box resizes as I type or paste content into it.
Because Jetpack Comments is using an iFrame, it is not compatible with CommentLuv.
You can disable Jetpack Comments by going to the Jetpack menu, clicking on Learn More by Jetpack Comments, then click Deactivate.
The same Stats package that is run on WorePress.com is available in your Jetpack -> Site Stats menu.
The Google Custom Search plugin needs an update. It is incorrectly enqueuing scripts and stylesheets, which breaks other plugins that may try to use the same scripts.
This could be a theme or plugin conflict. Could you temporarily disable your plugins and change your theme to Twenty Eleven and see if it works?
Can you log in via FTP, delete the jetpack folder from your wp-content/plugins directory, and then try reinstalling Jetpack?
Jetpack Comments should only be replacing the
comment_form()content. It sounds like your theme may be displaying the actual comments withincomment_form()‘ which would cause this problem. Thanks for the note. We’ll take a look and get this fixed.
The checkboxes should be activated by default.
The redirect to jetpack.wordpress.com is currently necessary for the social networking logins. This isn’t likely to change.
Some themes hard code a comment form in place. WordPress has a function (
comment_form()) that instead builds the comment form dynamically. If your theme hard codes the comment form, you or the theme author will need to replace it with
comment_form()in order for Jetpack Comments to work correctly. If your theme already uses
comment_form(), you should be all set.If you continue to experience issues, I’d recommend deactivating all plugins other than Jetpack and see if the comment form works. If it does, start activating plugins one by one until the form breaks. At that point, you will have found a plugin conflict that you can report to us for investigation.
If none of this works, please get in touch with us at our support link. Include your site URL, theme name, active plugins, and a screenshot of your comment area.
We don’t have plans to integrate reCAPTCHA. You can look at Akismet for anti-spam.
Jetpack Comments relies on the
comment_form()function being used to display the comment form. No, the new feature only allows commenters to leave their comment using their Facebook account. It will not post to Facebook.
We’ve updated our Stats system to fix this problem. Apologies for the inconvenience. Please let us know if you continue to have problems.
We are taking a look at this now. I’ll let you know when we have more information.
The hostname we use is jetpack.wordpress.com. There are too many IP’s across our data centers that change too often to really list those.
