In reply to: [SSL Zen — SSL Certificate Installer & HTTPS Redirects] Simplifies GoDaddyHello @mrsimonhagger
A lot of our free users were struggling because they were not able to properly verify their domain ownership using HTTP or DNS verification methods. For our pro customers, the domain ownership step is automatic.
We recently decided to automate the domain verification process for our free users too.
The reason why our plugin asked for your username and password in your particular case was that we weren’t able to use cPanel’s command line API to connect to your cPanel and verify your domain ownership. Only in such instances do we ask the user for cPanel credentials so we are able to connect using cPanel’s web API.
I understand your concern. Please allow me to counter.
* Your cPanel username and password are encrypted and stored on your website server. No one else has access to it.
* You can verify our claims by downloading the plugin and going through the code.If I’ve addressed your issue, I would really appreciate it if you could change your rating to 5 stars 🙂

Thank you for reaching out to us.The reason we sometimes ask for cPanel details in free version (3.0.15) is to automatically verify your domain ownership with Let’s Encrypt. Previously, this step was manual and a lot of users struggled with it.
If you could reach out to us via our website or send a message from the plugin, we would be happy to take a look at the issue.
@alphazulubaby We are not able to reproduce this issue. It seems like an issue with your server config. You could also try disabling all the other plugins to see if there’s any conflict with other plugins. If you are still unable to resolve the issue, please respond here and we will help you.

In reply to: [SSL Zen — SSL Certificate Installer & HTTPS Redirects] Verification Failed@siriusphil If you are using AWS to host your WordPress website, you are mostly likely using Bitnami. The easiest way to solve the issue will be to follow the instructions here to generate an SSL cert for your website – https://docs.bitnami.com/aws/how-to/generate-install-lets-encrypt-ssl/
@gladeo Please go to the plugin menu and click on the Setup to start the SSL generation process again.
