In reply to: Manji2 Theme Released.btw, I put it on my localhost test site for my Mallow theme, switched to Manji2 and all my highlight divs were highlighted in Manji2 also .. cool 😀
oh hang on :-/ works with my personal theme but not Mallow (I lied, Id put it on my own theme site first) this is because mallow uses class and my personal one uses id.
you might like to see why I chose class for Mallow here – http://www.somefoolwitha.com/2005/01/05/mallow-version-112/
Basically its because class validatesForum: Installing WordPress

In reply to: Manji2 Theme Released.I like it generally, my only few downers are that imo the sidebar doest fit that comfortably with the rest of the theme and I dont personally like a search button at the bottom of the page (power to the user). Oh, and I reckon the up arrow at the bottom should be half the size it currently is.

In reply to: nofollow support added? This is my personal perspective, and may or may not be the same as anyone else"s.
That is why imo it should default to off just as with regular links.Especially as at least one linkspammer has said its pretty much a waste of time – http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/01/31/link_spamer_interview/

In reply to: nofollow support added? Why does it HAVE to be a plugin, why not a just a global on/off box in the admin section. Which I think btw should default to ‘off’, I dont think the developers should make assumptions like this on behalf of the users.

In reply to: New theme – MallowThank you. I would guess that either youve editted the wrong sidebar, or you dont have permission to save it.

In reply to: Theme Licensestrue, however imo
Should we ask that all layouts / themes and styles are explicitly put under some sort of license by their author ? And that all the appropriate documentation is included in the download ?i would say if you do that itd be good to have a short paragraph explaining the options and recommending a license. Just something simple.
I had a look on the various GNU and CC license sites and found it quite confusing. Like is there a reason why I should choose GNU over CC? Ive included a GNU license but because Im so unsure Im almost tempted to remove it and just put an explanatory paragraph myself.
Of course this all reliant on people ACTUALLY reading it (the licenses or readmes that is).

In reply to: Theme LicensesAs an author of a theme, I realise that theres not alot that can be done once someone gets hold of it on their site.
However if the inference is that some maybe included in the default WP download then I would suggest that the author ensures theres atleast a link back to their site in the style.css and a note on the footer or something simply commented out with a note to please not remove this line.
This is what Im trying to do and after the suggestion from someone I (should have but discovered I havent :-S ) included a GNU license with mine (ill rectify that now 😉 ).
The thing is, Im none to clear as to what the license effectivly means. Im happy for it to be tweaked to hell and redistributed but Id just like to retain at minimum a commented link back to me in the footer or style.css file.

In reply to: New theme – MallowOK, well you have err ‘customised’ it slightly.
try removing all the stuff youve stuck around it, shortening “A 21st century redneck who likes dirt car racing, rock & roll, and photography tries to figure out what it means to follow after the path of Jesus in this crazy world of today.” and then see.
