In reply to: Theme installAfter a night’s rest and reexaming, the uploads were correct. But the concept of reexaming the “real” links caused me to go to my ISP. I had recently migrated servers from Plesk to cPanel and did not reconfigure the nameservers for this site so I was actually tweaking the old files sitting on another server. Thanks for the help. R

In reply to: Educating host to workings of WordPressOops, another “basic” item. Would also like a good categorie/tag option. I like the look of the “tag cloud” as seen on the top of this particular forum. I have been reading that tags can be tricky and not sure if this is a compatibility issue with the theme template or the host = it takes the blog out of the basic realm you mention.

In reply to: Educating host to workings of WordPressNot sure what basic means, new at this. I wish to develop blogs(s) that have a lot of users who will provide the content, not me. I wish a good security/permissions login capability for sure. And these users might what to upload a variety of content along with text/images, i.e., audio/video. Thanks for the 777/755 tip.

In reply to: Educating host to workings of WordPressMy host has suggested that I migrate from their Plesk server to their cPanel server to solve permissions/image upload issues. I have Googled Plesk vs cPanel and this might work. Hope I can navigate cPanel as I was getting used to Plesk. I am looking into this further. And thanks for the host recommendations which I will research.

In reply to: Educating host to workings of WordPressThe WP Codex is a great suggestion. Thank you.
I am not surprised, just frustrated. Blogging is a small piece in the WWW universe, though big with this forum, and if no one seems to have asked them to work with WP, they are kept busy doing a lot of other things.
Hope I am not out of line with this question in this forum. Can you/anyone suggest a host that is reliable? Dreamhost was suggested. Very WP friendly. But the reviews about realiability worry me. R

In reply to: Problem posting imagesWell, progress made. I now see the image in uploads/browe all but no matter what I click/toggle, the image is a no show in the blog. Thoughts?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Problem posting imagesI have done all of the above. I am not getting the same choices in my WP admin. I am currently in a post and wish to attach a jpg to it. I gp tp “Choose File” drop-down menu and choose the jpeg and see the little icon that it is selected. I have no toggle options no matter what I click on. I go to the “Uploads” tab and there is only a “Browse All” tab and in this tab a window says “There are no attachments to show.” Again, no other toggle/options. What’s wrong?

In reply to: Upload imagesI inserted a new folder named “uploads” in the wp_content folder and confirmed that CHMOD is set at 777.
I tried to upload the jpg again via wordpress admin window and no luck = same error code. Thoughts?
Forum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: Upload imagesHere is a bit more info…I was told = Check to make sure the upload directory in wp-content exists and is CHMOD set at 777.
I replied = i am not real sure what you are asking. I looked at wp_content and the only folders there in content are “themes” and “plugins” and the index.php file. Did I look in the right place?
