In reply to: okay i am working on itNice design. I’m using Firefox 0.9.2 in Win2k and the calendar is going over the margin into the woody background area. Other than that it looks great.

In reply to: Using multiple index pagesMaybe this will help. You can have one index page and use this to determine what is displayed.

In reply to: looking for feedback on site design, image browserVery nice design. Straightforward with just enough going on visually to not distract from the content.
I especially like the header image feature.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Question about private/draft posts and authors/useOK, let me simplify this. Are you able to see your private posts on the index page when you are logged in?

In reply to: Post titles on an additional page – How?I use the get_recent_posts function for something similar to this.
It is a function you put in your my-hacks.php file.

In reply to: Creating Static PagesYou have to make sure that you have the category number of your “about” category specified where it says ‘category=x’ in the code you inserted into your index.php.
If that isn’t it, I will probably need more info about the changes you made to your site so we can figure out what isn’t working.
(and those instructions aren’t mine, they were nicely written up by someone else).Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Creating Static PagesYou can also use a plugin for this (I’m using “Show Category Posts”) so you don’t have to edit html to make your About page look like the rest of your site. Then when you update your site’s appearance the static pages also get updated.

In reply to: Code TagI had to define a “pre p” font-family to get mine to look right.

In reply to: Housemusic.nuNice choice of header images.
The left grey column seems like it could be removed or have some information in it.
I agree with jijob about the colors. I think the green used for the links is too bright and would go better with the other muted colors if it was toned down.Forum: Your WordPress
In reply to: Polynia.net – 60% CompleteI like it but I think the left side navigation column is overwhelming the main content area because it is very wide and the colors are strong.

In reply to: Site Critique: What do you think? It would be nice to see a simple “about” page that describes what Wairoa is. I got the idea after some digging in the district info category but it might be helpful to have a description page linked from the front page (like your “what’s skype” page) or to have a blurb on the main page.

In reply to: Site CritiqueI like the narrow text column. It is a nice change from the standard WordPress layout.
One thing that I think could be improved is the left to right alignment of the site name/navigation menu in the left column. Its placement seems somewhat random to me (I’m using Firefox 0.9.1).
Other than that, nice work.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Gallery (http://gallery.menalto.com/) integration?I’m using Gallery on my site. I didn’t try to integrate it (I have seperate logins for WordPress and Gallery) but it wasn’t very hard to make them look similar so there would be continuity within the site.

In reply to: A brand new day with WordPressLooks very nice. I’m looking at it with Firefox 0.9.1 and there is a small grey outlined box to the right of the header photo that doesn’t look like it should be there.

In reply to: Better by farThe left column with the moblog photos overlaps the center column for me (about an inch on my display). I’m using IE on Win 2003.
