In reply to: Angsuman’s Translator Plugin Pro For WordPress 2.x Blogs ReleasedWordPress itself excepted, of course? Free breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Advertising a commercial premium (i.e. you’ve got to buy it) plugin on a free forum for open-source software smacks a little of greedy opportunism. Perhaps the mods should create a forum on here where people can pay a subscription and then advertise their paid products.
Sounds fairer to me.

In reply to: Ultimate Tag Warror site gone?@whooami. Apologies if I sounded somewhat harsh; I think your overreaction evoked one of my own!
In any event, there’s no need to debate the word’s usage, or etymology. I happen to believe it is hardly ever necessary to use it (or any other, similar “vulgarisms”), and frequent usage by a given individual tends to speak volumes about their grammar, and ability to express themselves.
But enough! I certainly haven’t pigeon-holed you into that category.

Wise words – perhaps you should heed your own advice, whooami.
That sort of language, incidentally, on a public forum that any child can access, is both unnecessary and uncouth.

In reply to: Making a super simple theme. How about Scott Wallick’s WP themes? http://www.plaintxt.org. Very very simple. Very content-centric.

In reply to: Ultimate Tag Warror site gone? The UTW site isn’t working for me either. Obviously whooami is special…;)
Especially so since the top level of the domain is parked: http://www.neato.co.nz/

In reply to: Angsuman’s Translator Plugin Pro For WordPress 2.x Blogs ReleasedI don’t know if I’m just being silly, but there doesn’t seem to be a price for your plugin.
In any event, I’m not convinced it’s better by enough than Trevor Creech’s free 8-language translation plugin to justify spending money on it.

In reply to: BBPress in WP PageI personally think RS-Discuss is the better package: http://www.sargant.com/blog/wordpress-plugins/rs-discuss/
Easy to install, integrates seamlessly AND blog users are already registered for the forum. Certainly on my site, people generally wouldn’t be bothered to register twice.

In reply to: google site verification problemWhere are you putting the meta tag? In your header.php file? In the <head> section?
FYI, the file method didn’t work for me either.

In reply to: windows live writerNope, works brilliantly at my end.
I don’t use Firefox (I’m an Opera man), so WLW is pretty tasty from my point of view.
For some reason, I have to add a class=”alignright” to images in order to activate the CSS in the blog – simply selecting the right alignment in WLW won’t do it. Not sure how to fix that one.
Other than that, excellent.

In reply to: Solemnity2 – New Theme WP2 Widgets SidebarSam,
I don’t think that’s the actual theme; you need to click on the English flag and then you’ll see a small image of the Solemnity2 theme.

In reply to: New Theme, a New LookVery nice, but I would perhaps argue that you need an “accent colour”; it’s a nice blue, but there’s too much of it, IMHO. The very odd dash of something a bit brighter would really bring it to life, e.g. these guys use green with orange (and the normal black and white): http://blog.gluedideas.com/

In reply to: Link to place on same pageLloyd,
Many thanks! Works like a charm, although one should note that the WYSI-Wordpress editor plugin has to be deactivated before it works in the HTML editor.
Cheers.

In reply to: Sidebar at bottom of page (yes, that again)Gah. Not a clue where the balance is wrong, unfortunately, so have resorted to the simple expediency of taking the sidebar out completely.
Not a very elegant solution, but for one as incapable as I, perhaps the only solution!
Thanks for the help.
