In reply to: [GiveWP - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform] Button has never workedHi, @cris320.
I’ve accessed your website but I could not locate any donation form on it. Can you send me a link to a page where there are donation forms so we can test it?
Also, please send along your System Info.
Navigate to Donations –> Tools –> System Info (tab) and click the button to “Get System Report” and copy/paste that in your reply here.
That will give me some more context to be able to help. Looking forward to helping you get to the bottom of this!
Hi, @antonim.
Glad you reached out. I can help you fix this error. We’ve uncovered this issue with specific hosts not supporting the INTL extension for PHP.
The fastest way to resolve it is for your host to enable that PHP extension, which will make the error message disappear.
We’re considering doing something from our side to fix it, based on the number of reports. We’re tracking those here: https://feedback.givewp.com/bug-reports/p/php-intl-extension-should-not-break-givewp.
The pinned comments there explain much more in detail about what’s going wrong, but for now, your best bet is to reach out to your host to have them enable INTL.
Please let us know if you have further questions or need additional assistance!
Glad to hear that, @rasworpr.
Drop us a message if you need further assistance.

In reply to: [GiveWP - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform] Snippet not workingHi, @dmorrissey.
Glad you reached out.
Not that we are aware of. When you use that code, it should show up on your forms. You said you used the Snippets plugin. In this case, you need to make sure that the code snippet was activated.
Another option is to use our new Fields API. It allows you to create several fields, including phone fields. You can learn more about it here https://givewp.com/documentation/developers/how-to-create-custom-form-fields/.
If you need assistance implementing custom PHP code on your website we have this guide:https://givewp.com/documentation/resources/adding-custom-functions-to-your-wordpress-website/.
Please note that this code snippet is provided as an example of how you can extend GiveWP with code. It’s up to you to implement and customize to your liking. We cannot provide support for custom code on your website, only the code that we create and distribute.
Thanks for using GiveWP! Have a great day.
Hi, @elvismdev.
Glad you reached out.
Currently, the donor has the ability to cancel their own recurring donations, but they cannot ask for a refund using the donor dashboard.
Although we do not have this feature out of the box, it would be exciting and valuable to understand how it would work for you and improve your workflow, so the product development team has some insights into how it would behave.
Also, is there any workaround that you are using? It would be good to hear from you about that too, and what this feature would allow you to do. All ideas are appreciated, and I’m happy to share your insights with the product development team so that they can discuss the feasibility of this feature.
I hope it clarifies, and looking forward to hearing back from you!

In reply to: [GiveWP - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform] Error after upgradeHi, @alexanderdigett.
Glad you reached out. I can help you fix the Forms page.
We’ve investigated it and we found that you’ve uncovered an edge-case issue with our GiveWP plugin. What is happening is that for some forms, if you have a missing piece of information about the donation values, that page will break.
I’ve escalated this to our development team so they can work on a fix. You can follow up on the progress of the fix here https://feedback.givewp.com/bug-reports/p/givewp-should-work-even-if-the-price-option-is-missing-for-a-form.
However, there is a workaround. In the meantime, we’ve created a snippet for switching the new list views to the legacy views for all administrators on a site. To use it, do the following:
– Add the snippet (linked below) to functions.php or some other place that runs arbitrary PHP. You can use the Code Snippets plugin too.
– Go to https://example.com/wp-admin/index.php?givewp_set_legacy_lists=1
– It will redirect you back to the same page, and now the lists should be in the Legacy view. Here’s the link to the snippet: https://gist.github.com/rickalday/ffb27e660cd4b1c7b1d9cf92ef696264
It should solve the issue that is breaking your forms page.
While we work on a fix, feel free to message us if you have further questions or need any additional assistance!

Hey, @bmccloskey.
Glad you reached out.
I believe that the issue you are facing here is a mix between GiveWP, a third-party plugin and PHP 8. Can you switch your PHP version from 8.0 to 7.4 and let me know if the issue persists?
I recommend taking a backup of the site from which you can confidently restore. Here’s an article we wrote that explains more clearly how to do that: https://givewp.com/backup-for-faster-troubleshooting/.
Looking forward to helping you get to the bottom of this!
Hi, @shulabot.
Glad you reached out.
When I access your website, I notice that the hamburger menu is working correctly and you have GiveWP working on it too. I’ve tested it on this page http://shulamitw3.sg-host.com/donation/.
Is everything alright? I do apologize for my slow turnaround on this one.
Looking forward to helping you get to the bottom of this!
Hi, @media2give.
Glad you reached out. I can help you install GiveWP.
It looks like the plugin you installed is missing some files. In this case, delete the current GiveWP plugin you have installed, then download it from here https://wordpress.org/plugins/give and install on your site again.
Let me know how it goes.
Hi, @sylencer.
I’ve tried to access your donation form but it keeps me asking for a password. Can you let me know how to replicate the error you are facing?
By your problem description, it looks like there is something preventing the button from working as expected and I’d like to see if there is anything on the developer console indicating what is happening.
Looking forward to helping you get to the bottom of this!
Hi, @anass4s.
Glad you reached out. I can clarify how GiveWP works and what you can do instead.
The GiveWP plugin was designed to let you create one campaign on a per-form basis, which means that we do not have the ability to create an option in which the donor can select if they are donating a wheelchair or food.
Instead, you could create a donation form for each of these campaigns you have – one form for wheelchair and another form for food.
Another possibility is to use our Funds and Designations add-on. The “Funds and Designations” add-on allows you to create funds for your forms to populate revenue into.
You can learn more about it here https://givewp.com/documentation/add-ons/funds/.
If you’re interested in maximizing your use of GiveWP, reach out to our Customer Success team here to demo our premium features and receive an exclusive discount on our plans!
Thanks for using GiveWP! Have a great day.
Hi, @esams.
Glad you reached out.
There was an issue with the Square payment gateway add-on that was fixed in the latest versions. It means that you need to update your plugins to the latest version available.
In this case, you can click on Plugins > Installed Plugins and click to update your plugins. If you do not see an update for it, it’s just the cache. You can navigate to Dashboard > Updates and click on Check Again. It will check for the updates and clear the cache and you’ll be able to update the plugin.
I recommend taking a backup of the site from which you can confidently restore. Here’s an article we wrote that explains more clearly how to do that: https://givewp.com/backup-for-faster-troubleshooting/.
Lastly, we are not allowed to support premium add-ons here so I’ll encourage you to reach out to us via Priority Support here https://givewp.com/priority-support. Since you are using a custom add-on, most likely you have a paid account and you can use the priority support.
Thanks for using GiveWP! Have a great day.
