In reply to: [GiveWP - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform] Loco Translate ChangesHi, @wealthy.
Glad you reached out. I can clarify here.
It will depend on how you created your translation using Loco Translate. If you added your translation to the GiveWP folder, you might lose it.
In our documentation here: https://givewp.com/documentation/resources/translating-give/translating-givewp-with-loco-translate/ we explain that your best choice is to use the Custom option.
To prevent any translation loss, you can relocate the file too. You will need to open the translation page on Loco Translate, click on Relocate and then move it to custom. See it below:

In reply to: [GiveWP - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform] Default amountHi, @therez.
Glad you reached out.
Currently it isn’t possible to have the form defaulted to the custom amount option. Based on our research, it’s better to offer donors a few donation options to choose from in addition to allowing them to type in their own custom amount.
You could use the multi-level donation option for just one donation amount, with the custom amount enabled, to create something like this: https://livedemo.givewp.com/donations/test-form/
If you’re looking to customize our donation form templates, our developer docs might come in handy: https://givewp.com/documentation/developers/.
We are working on some new form templates for the future of GiveWP, which will make it easier to customize our forms. I added you as a voter for this feature here: https://feedback.givewp.com/feature-requests/p/allow-custom-amount-to-be-the-default-on-forms.
We are actively tracking user feedback to understand further the needs you all have. You can use the link to check in for updates or to provide additional details of your own. I would encourage you to comment on that post about the impact this would have on your organization. Information like that is always helpful for our teams to see. I’ve also linked your ticket internally, so if this feature request is developed, we can reach out to update you.

In reply to: [GiveWP - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform] Issue post releaseSounds good!
Hi there.
Glad you reached out.
I accessed your site here https://ramhealthempowermentinitiative.org/donations/givewp-donation-form/ and the form worked as expected. Can you clarify what is not working exactly?
Also, please send along your System Info.
Navigate to Donations –> Tools –> System Info (tab) and click the button to “Get System Report” and copy/paste that in your reply here.
That will give me some more context to be able to help.

In reply to: [GiveWP - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform] Error after update 3.0.3Hi, @krystofdavid
Those look like warning messages and not errors. To hide them, you should disable WP Debug on your site.
You can add the following to your wp-config.php file:
define(‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, false);
However, I want to find the root cause of it. Can you let me know when does this error shows up? Do you open a specific page on the website and it appears?
Also, please send along your System Info.
Navigate to Donations –> Tools –> System Info (tab) and click the button to “Get System Report” and copy/paste that in your reply here.

Looking forward to helping you get to the bottom of this!

In reply to: [GiveWP - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform] Issue post releaseHi, @mbio86.
I’m glad you reached out. I can certainly help you.
I tried to replicate this issue you are facing but I couldn’t. I used PHP 8.2 on a fresh install and GiveWP 3.0.3.
Can you give me steps to replicate the problem? Also, is it preventing donations?
Looking forward to helping you get to the bottom of this!

In reply to: [GiveWP - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform] Unable to connect PaypalHi, @queerasyou.
I’m glad you reached out. I can certainly help you.
I’ve seen this issue before and if you cannot disconnect it on the back end, we have a tip for you,
This workaround option for this issue is a little complex, I’m including those instructions below:
The workaround is to edit the database. Removing the option_value starting with give_paypal_commerce_* in wp_options will remove the connection so another account can be connected. There will be a warning “Warning, your account is not ready to accept donations.”, which doesn’t affect anything – but the fix for that is removing the option_value mentioned before.
Once you have this squared away, be extra sure to use a PayPal Business Account to connect.
If you’re not comfortable editing the database I would recommend hiring someone to do this. I also highly recommend that you take a good backup that you can confidently restore from before anyone touches anything in the database.
Please let us know if you have further questions or need additional assistance!
Hi, @mapo85.
Glad you reached out.
We’ve investigated it and we found that you’ve uncovered an edge-case issue with our GiveWP plugin. What is happening is that this specific string was not included in the translation file, preventing you from being able to translate it.
I’ve escalated this to our development team so they can work on a fix. You can follow up on the progress of the fix here: https://feedback.givewp.com/bug-reports/p/the-string-this-is-a-required-field-should-be-translatable.

In reply to: [GiveWP - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform] Date formatHi, @seepops.
Glad you reached out.
Indeed, we are using the US format for dates on the back end, but we are happy to improve it.
I created an enhancement request here: https://feedback.givewp.com/feature-requests/p/use-the-date-from-wp-settings-for-forms-and-donations-on-the-back-end.

Hi, @racsomt.
I’m glad you reached out. I can certainly help you.
What is likely happening here is that you need to enable a default payment gateway for the visual form builder. You can do it under donations > settings > payment gateways > gateways > visual form builder.
Can you try it and let me know if it works?
Looking forward to helping you get to the bottom of this!
Hi, Julian.
Glad you reached out.
The GiveWP plugin was designed to log errors on the back end so you can see them at your preferred time, but we do not have a way to send it to you right now.
I created a feature request for it here https://feedback.givewp.com/feature-requests/p/automatically-send-an-email-when-an-error-log-is-created.

Hi, @westaubrey.
We released a fix for it already, and you likely installed it too. If you did not, then update GiveWP to the latest version and you should be good to go.
Before taking any steps for troubleshooting or updating, I highly recommend taking a good backup of the site you can confidently restore from. Having a backup of your site is essential to a solid workflow, and will allow you to restore to a previous version of the site if you run into any issues. You can read more about our top recommendations for taking a backup here: https://givewp.com/backup-for-faster-troubleshooting/
Thanks for using GiveWP! Have a great day.
Hi, @nebin2010.
I’m glad you reached out.
We accessed your website to check for errors and we found that you are likely using the Square plugin from WPExperts, and not our add-on (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpexperts-square-for-give/). In this case, I suggest you reach out to them so they can help you figure out why the plugin is not working.
Thanks for using GiveWP! Have a great day.
