You want to be able to edit an article/comment by click on it on the main index.php page? What if a visitor clicks on the article? I am not clear on what you are looking for.Forum: Fixing WordPress

For all of you script-monkies on here, here is a javascript bookmarklet with the same basic code, which encodes EVERYTHING! 🙂Forum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: Next Version?Do you really think Google hates your blog Sushubh? I LOVE your blog….has a very nice Indian touch! 😛
Seriously, my blog seems to do OK without any fancy URL encoding or SE friendly URLs. I do use very honest link propagation methods when I post and all of my permalinks are hacked to get me the most exposure at Google and other search engines.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!Glad you got that worked out Craig! The NM symbol looks Cool!

In reply to: Browsers, browsers, everywhere…Hehe..thanks for the plug Craig!
I personally use Mozilla Nightly Builds primarily. I work with MozDev and it helps to keep up with the work of other developers. I do use IE6 sometimes when checking on compatibility (CSS etc) and also use Camino on my Mac Blue and White. I use Mozilla on my Linux Box and my Sun station. So, all-in-all I use Mozilla the most. As for resolution size, I use a javascript bookmarklet which resizes my browser window to a bunch of different sizes for testing purposes, but my monitor is set to 1600×1200. 🙂Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Clickable Smilies in comments.Smilie code is translated according to the code (do a search for $b2smiliestrans) in b2vars.php inside your b2-include folder. If your smilie is an image in your simlies folder and the name corresponds inside your b2vars.php, it gets translated and shows up on your comments page.

In reply to: Read more…Thats why Jaykul suggested that we stay away from the <!–something–> kind of tags, they can be REALLY confusing to use and really difficult to remember. 🙂
Try this,
Some text supposed to be a teaser…
<!–more–>
Some text supposed to show up after more link is clicked.
One worthy disclaimer is that once more link is clicked, only that particular post shows up, it does not show the whole blog.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Read more…<!–more–> in your post entry creates a “more” link in your post. Thats where my <!–sticky–> idea comes from. 😛 Was this what you were talking about? try it out!

In reply to: Customize “updated” linksLook under your blog admin page, under options and Link manager settings, look for links_recently_updated_time. Change that to any time that you want. 🙂

In reply to: “Sticky” or “featured” post on main WP blog paI agree with all your points, Craig, but this is something that is not just “we can build it” but, as in my case, it is extremely useful! WP, as it stands in my humble opinion, is one of the simplest, most lucid and friendly blog CMS communities in the blog world (and I understand the code inside and out, mostly! LOL) I believe that this is a feature which will be one of the “fun and useful improvements” or one of the “major features” of WordPress. The reason that I dont want to use a div or wrapper to put in this information is because I want this information to change like the rest of my blog (in due time) and I want it to be a part of the WP experience that I so adore and am willing to work hard at fixing, if that is the case. Why dont you rather use BlogRolling instead of the links inside of WP? Why dont you rather use the original CSS, instead of the work of art that you have created (and are continually working on, to make it better, faster) ? We all crave a unique identity, while staying within the confortable confines of WP and yet crave the acceptance (and laurels) of the community in general. This brings out the age old question that us “liberal arts” students have tried to answer over and over again, “Where do we belong? and do we care cuz we are the best anyways!” LOL
OK, without being too weird about it, I think this is an improvement which people will use and will really appreciate! 🙂 No harm or offense intended!
