Hey @jimdoneit
Really sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing.
To get this sorted, could you please try the following steps?
- Temporarily deactivate all other plugins except for Simple 301 Redirects. This is just to make sure there are no conflicts or other redirect rules interfering with the external links.
- Check your permalink settings:
Go to Settings → Permalinks and make sure it’s set to Post name.
Here’s a quick reference: https://d.pr/v/zbPgvH - Flush permalinks:
Even if it’s already on “Post name,” switch it to another option (like “Plain”), save, and then switch it back to “Post name” and save again. This refreshes the permalink structure and can often resolve redirect oddities.
If you’ve done all the above and the issue still persists, could you let us know what changes were made to the site just before this started happening? That will help us pinpoint the cause more quickly.
Just a heads-up:
Simple 301 Redirects has a more limited feature update schedule , which means updates are less frequent and generally limited to essential fixes. If you’re looking for more flexibility or detailed redirect tracking, we highly recommend trying out BetterLinks. It’s our more powerful redirect management plugin that lets you:
- Track clicks and analytics
- Manage links more efficiently
- Seamlessly migrate existing links from Simple 301 Redirects in just one click

Really sorry to hear about the trouble your wife is experiencing—redirect issues can definitely be frustrating, especially when everything was working fine before.

PialHello again @jmzolezzi
Thank you for Sharing the Update. As per the WordPress.org guidelines, all commercial support, including Pro Dependency, must be handled through the plugin’s official support channels.
Kindly reach out to us directly, and we’ll be happy to assist you further with this issue.
Looking forward to helping you resolve this!
Best regards,
PialHello @agcyphers
First off, thank you for sticking with us for so long and for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We truly appreciate your support over the years, and we’re really sorry to hear that the analytics issue ended up being such a frustration for you.
We completely understand how important site performance is, and we recognize that the current analytics setup hasn’t been as smooth as it should be. The good news is that we’re already working on optimizing our analytics mechanisms to fully resolve this issue and ensure it doesn’t impact performance moving forward.
While we did introduce a way to restrict analytics, we see now that it didn’t fully meet your needs. Your insights have been incredibly helpful, and they’re shaping how we improve the plugin.
It’s disappointing to hear that you had to move on, but we get it. If you ever decide to revisit the plugin down the road, we’d love the opportunity to offer a better experience.
Wishing you all the best with your new setup, and if there’s anything we can do, don’t hesitate to reach out!
Best,
PialHello @laksha2804
Thank you for reaching out.
Unfortunately, redirecting an entire directory like
/wp-content/uploads/gravity_formsto another page is not straightforward due to how WordPress and web servers handle file requests. Since these files are directly accessed via the server (rather than being served through WordPress’ PHP functions), standard redirection methods such as301or302redirects or using a plugin won’t apply to the files themselves. If you’re trying to prevent access to these files and redirect users instead, you may need to configure server-level rules (e.g.,
.htaccessfor Apache ornginx.conffor Nginx) to block access and enforce a redirect. Alternatively, if you want more control over file access, a membership or security plugin that restricts direct file access might be a better approach.Hope you understand
Best regards,
PialHi @nate1,
Sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’ll be looking into the issue with our development team to investigate and address the deprecated function warnings.
If this is urgent, in the meantime, I recommend exploring BetterLinks—our advanced URL management tool. It provides robust features to shorten, track, and manage links seamlessly. Additionally, you can easily migrate your existing links to BetterLinks without any hassle. You can find step-by-step instructions here: Migrate to BetterLinks.
For further guidance, you can also refer to our comprehensive documentation: BetterLinks Docs.
Please let us know if you have any further questions!
Best regards,
PialHey Billy,
To clarify—only the Target URL will remain the same, but the Shortened URL will update automatically to match the new domain.
So when you change the domain from
temp-host.comtoreal-host.com:✅ Target URL (Destination) remains unchanged:
https://temp-host.com/rose(or whatever the original destination is).
✅ Shortened URL updates automatically:- Before:
https://temp-host.com/flower - After:
https://real-host.com/flower
This happens because BetterLinks always generates shortened URLs based on the domain where it’s installed. However, the Target URL is independent of the domain, so it won’t change unless you manually edit it.
Do You Need to Export & Import?
No, you don’t need to export and import since you’re only switching the domain on the same WordPress installation. The shortened URLs will automatically update to match the new domain. To Be Safe:
I’d recommend using the export feature in BetterLinks before switching the domain. This way, if anything goes wrong, you can easily restore your links by importing them back. Steps to Follow:- Export your BetterLinks as a backup.
- Change the domain to
real-host.com. - Ensure that the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) are updated in Settings > General.
- Your Shortened URLs should now reflect the new domain.
- Test a few links to confirm everything redirects correctly.
If you notice anything unexpected, feel free to send a screen recording or screenshot—I’d be happy to check further.
Best,
PialHi Billy,
The Target URL will always remain unchanged because, in theory, that’s your intended destination. BetterLinks doesn’t modify the target URL automatically when switching domains.
However, you can change the Shortened Links created by BetterLinks, as those are flexible and not the actual destination.
Could you share a screen recording of what you did? Also, please provide the exact Short Link and Target URL so I can take a closer look.
Recommendation:
To properly set up your links, you can create them on the temporary site Properly and later export them. Once you import them into the actual site, the Short Link domain will automatically update to match the installation domain.Let me know how it goes!
Best,
PialHey there @manager5ul ,
It looks like the error is coming from Essential Addons for Elementor Pro, specifically from the EA Tooltip Extension feature, which is a Pro-only feature. Since support for the Pro version isn’t handled on the WordPress.org forums, you’ll need to reach out to us directly for assistance.
If you have an active subscription, please submit a support ticket here:
➡️ https://essential-addons.com/support/Also, the plugin slug you mentioned (essential-addons-elementor-pro) isn’t the official one, so please make sure you’re using a legitimate Latest version of the plugin to avoid issues.
Thanks

Hello again @jasperdemann
Yes, that could be a reason. The default BuddyPress login behavior on your main URL is also causing the MemberSpace login to be bypassed. Because BuddyPress is set to use its built-in login form, it doesn’t trigger the custom EA Login registration widget on your dedicated login page (https://community.vital50plus.com/login/), and therefore, the MemberSpace integration isn’t activated.
To address this, you’ll need to update the BuddyPress settings so that it uses your custom login page. This change should ensure that both your custom login and the MemberSpace login are applied correctly. Additionally, I recommend consulting with BuddyPress and MemberSpace support as well—they’re experts on their products and can provide further guidance if needed.
Please let me know if you have any more questions or if there’s anything else I can assist with.
Best regards,
PialThank you for reaching out. I’ve reviewed your setup, and here’s what’s happening:
Custom vs. Default Login Pages:
You’re using our EA Login Registration Widget on your dedicated login page (https://community.vital50plus.com/login/), and that page is working as expected. However, when visitors land on the main URL (https://community.vital50plus.com/), they’re seeing the default BuddyPress login form. This isn’t a domain issue—it’s simply how BuddyPress is configured by default. Why This Occurs:
BuddyPress comes with its own default login (and registration) functionality. Unless you specifically assign a custom page, BuddyPress will continue to use its built-in login form on pages like your homepage. The behavior you’re seeing is normal if no custom page is assigned. How to Replace the Default BuddyPress Login:
To have your custom EA Login page replace the default BuddyPress login form, please follow these steps:- Confirm Your Custom Login Page Is Set Up:
Ensure that the page at https://community.vital50plus.com/login/ is published and functioning correctly with the EA Login Registration Widget. - Assign Your Custom Login Page in BuddyPress Settings:
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard and go to the BuddyPress settings area.Navigate to the Pages tab.Find the setting for the login/registration page (sometimes labeled as “Registration” ) and assign it to your custom login page (i.e., the one at /login/).Save your changes.
For more detailed guidance, you can refer to the BuddyPress documentation on configuring component pages:
Configure BuddyPress Components – Settings BuddyPress PagesI hope this clarifies the situation. Please let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance.

PialHi Michelle,
Thanks for the update! It looks like it was a caching issue on your end. Sometimes, cache can cause inconsistencies, even if it eventually resolves itself.
Glad to hear it’s working now! If anything comes up again, feel free to reach out.
Best,
