Hi @flatword ,
Just a quick update on this. We recently released a new version of the plugin where this issue has been addressed. Based on our testing, this should no longer occur moving forward.
We’ve also added additional safeguards around these kinds of operations to prevent similar issues from happening again.
Please keep an eye on things from your end, and if you ever notice this happening again, do let us know. We’ll be happy to take another look right away.
Thanks again for your patience and for reporting this.
Hi there @flatword ,
Just following up on this.
We haven’t heard back from you regarding the date filter check in the Analytics section. In many cases, adjusting the time range helps align the counts with what’s shown in Manage Links.
Since we haven’t received any further update, I’ll go ahead and mark this as resolved for now. That said, if the issue is still persisting or if you notice anything unusual, please feel free to reply here with a bit more detail or screenshots, and we’ll be happy to take another look.
Thanks again for your time.
Hey there @flatword ,
Just checking in on this.
Were you able to try adjusting the date filter in the Analytics section and see if the counts start matching with Manage Links?
Also, if the issue is still showing on your end, it would really help if you could share a couple of screenshots or a short screen recording. That way we can look a bit closer and figure out what might be causing the mismatch.
Looking forward to your update.
Hey @flatword ,
Really sorry for the inconvenience here.
For the individual analytics, the Manage Links section shows all-time clicks, while in the Analytics section the default filter is usually set to the last one year. Because of that, you might notice a discrepancy if there were clicks before that time range.
Could you please try adjusting the date filter like this and check again?
https://d.pr/v/45UZ3kRegarding the difference between unique and total clicks, this can sometimes happen due to things like database cleanup tools removing some records, or bot traffic affecting how clicks are counted.
Also, could you please share more details about the case where it shows 6/11 (total vs unique)? That would help us take a closer look and understand what’s going on there.
Thanks again for your patience.

Hi @loralora,
Just checking in on this 🙂
Were you able to try the CSS we shared earlier on your site?
.betterdocs-single-category-wrapper:has(.betterdocs-nested-category-list.active) {
z-index: 10;
}It should bring the dropdown above the overlapping element. If it still behaves the same, feel free to share an updated screen recording or page link, and we will take another look from our end.
Looking forward to your update.
Hi @loralora ,
Thank you for the detailed explanation, that really helped clarify the issue.
It seems the dropdown is being overlapped by the adjacent element due to a stacking or overflow behavior. To fix this, please try adding the following CSS to your site:
.betterdocs-single-category-wrapper:has(.betterdocs-nested-category-list.active) {
z-index: 10;
}This should ensure that the toggle dropdown appears properly above the lower element instead of being hidden behind it.
Please give this a try and let us know how it goes. If the issue still persists, we can take a closer look from our end.
Thanks again for your cooperation 🙂
Hi again @flatword,
Just checking in on this. Have you noticed the issue happening again after duplicating more links?
If it does come up, it would really help if you could note the exact steps right before it breaks, even small details can make a difference. Also, if you’re using any caching or optimization setup, letting us know that would give us a bit more context to investigate properly.
Appreciate you keeping an eye on this.
Hello again @flatword
I see, thanks for the update. In that case, it does get a bit tricky to track down.
Would you mind keeping an eye on things for now and letting us know if the issue happens again? If it does, a few details would really help us investigate further:
- What kind of caching plugin you are using
- Whether object cache or page cache is enabled
- What hosting provider and server setup you are using
Also, if you’re able to recreate the exact steps that lead to the issue, that would be really helpful on our end.
We’ve tried to replicate this internally, but so far everything seems to be working fine when duplicating links, so we haven’t been able to reproduce the problem yet.
Looking forward to your update whenever you notice anything unusual again.
Hi there @flatword ,
I’m really sorry you’re running into this, I can imagine how frustrating it must feel, especially after duplicating so many links.
Could you please try purging your system cache? Also, if you’re using any object cache, please clear that as well and temporarily deactivate it.
After that, please refresh the link status from your BetterLinks Settings like this : https://d.pr/v/jDuPfS And reload the page, Then check if the links that were not working are now resolved or still showing issues.
We’re also investigating this internally on our end. When you get a moment, please follow these steps and share your findings here.
Additionally, it would really help if you could share a few of your shortened URLs that are currently not working. That way we can test them directly and try to pinpoint what might be going wrong.
Hi @elementoraddonswpr ,
Thanks for reaching out.
We are already evaluating the new V4 editor and currently working on adapting our widgets to support the updated structure and features. It’s still in progress, but we are aiming to provide full compatibility as soon as possible.
In the meantime, if you notice any compatibility issues, errors, or anything unusual while using the new editor, please feel free to let us know. That will help us prioritize and address those cases more effectively.
Appreciate your patience on this.
Hello again @jeanettegibsonjg ,
Hope you are doing well.
We haven’t heard back from you for a while, so I’m assuming the issue has been resolved from your end. I’ll go ahead and mark this topic as resolved for now.
If the issue still persists or you need any further assistance, feel free to reach out anytime.
Have a nice day!
Hi @raqy,
Thank you for the update and for sharing the solution.
It seems the issue was related to the server’s PHP limits rather than PHP 8.4 compatibility. Increasing the PHP memory limit and time limit resolved the crashes.
Glad to hear everything is working now. If you face anything else, please feel free to let us know.
Hi there @jeanettegibsonjg ,
Just following up on this. Could you please confirm if changing the section background color helped clarify the issue?
If you are still seeing what looks like an overlay on the Flip Box image, please feel free to share the page URL or a screenshot so we can take another look and guide you further.
Looking forward to your update
