Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Looking at hostname, yet wp-config can't find dbWhat happens for you when you go to the site? When i go to countryexposure.com (assuming that’s the domain you are inquiring about) I get a forbidden message. Now a lot of people install WordPress to a WordPress directory. Which it appears is the case for countryexposure.com, for when you go to countryexposure.com/wordpress I get a message saying : “There doesn’t seem to be a wp-config.php file. I need this before we can get started. Need more help? We got it. You can create a wp-config.php file through a web interface, but this doesn’t work for all server setups. The safest way is to manually create the file.” This indicated that there is not a database issue, but just the fact that you have no wp-config.php file to connect to the database with. I believe once you create and set up this file your issue will be resolved.

In reply to: Server Not Found Error with GoDaddyGlad to hear you’re up and running again. Just to clarify, as James (MacManX) mentioned, the advice for altering a file was in reference to the web.config file and not wp-config.php. We do apologize for any confusion regarding this. Let us know if we can help out further!

In reply to: Changed site url and now can't access admin panel?!Hi Phil
Glad to hear you got things up and running again.
If the domain was updated in your WordPress administrative site, it’s possible it did not get updated in your database when you added the ‘www’ to it. This would have caused the types of errors you outlined earlier. Should you need to change the domain again, you can confirm it has been updated by going to phpMyAdmin for your database, visiting ‘wp_options’ then updating the URL by editing the ‘siteurl’ row in the option_value field. Details can be found here: http://go.me/KP
Hope this helps clear things up!

In reply to: Changed site url and now can't access admin panel?!Hey Phil,
@songdogtech is absolutely right. You have full control of what was created for your WordPress login. Your Go Daddy account will not have any bearing on this.
That is a great link too! Did this help you? Let us know if we can provide any other info.

In reply to: Server Not Found Error with GoDaddyUsing the steps in the article you referenced will help you see the actual error behind the generic 500 error. The syntax error you referenced indicates there’s an issue with the code in that location.
If you’re unfamiliar with repairing the code, you may consider reinstalling WordPress from scratch, to have a fresh working copy, then restore from your most recent backup.
If you need any direction backing up your project, let us know, be happy to assist.

I’m sorry to hear about your disappointment. I hope we are able to help resolve that.
Currently, there should not be any reason why this could not work on our shared hosting accounts. You can install multisite into a directory other than the root by installing WordPress 3.0 to your specified directory, then enabling the multisite feature.
If you’re running into errors, let us know some details as we would love to look into this further.

Presently, http://rootdownfitness.com/workout_blog/ appears to be the only directory pulling up content. Reviewing your links, it appears that WordPress is looking for your content at:
http://rootdownfitness.com/workout_blog/workout_blog/
You’ll need to update your default directory either in your database directly, in your WordPress administrative settings or by modifying your wp-login.php file. Use “Opton 2” here:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#If_you_forget_to_change_the_locations
This should work for you.

Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: New blog only shows godaddy parked pageIt sounds like your domain may not be configured to pick up your additional sites. For Multisites in WordPress to function, you’ll need a dedicated IP address with a wildcard A Record (*) as the host. This will ensure all subdomains created with Multisites are picked up. If you need a hand creating an A Record let us know.

In reply to: Godaddy for WordPress ? just a big NO.. this is why:Sorry to hear you’re still having troubles. We would be happy to have member of our hosting team take another look as Noah mentioned earlier.
We’re currently not experiencing issues with database connection times. You mentioned that you experience latency at specific times. These are likely the times that the server is receiving the most traffic. While your plan supports multiple sites, it may not be the ideal situation for the fastest load times. Your sites are still sharing resources with each other and everyone else on your server.
Ipstenu made a great point in mentioning Virtual Dedicated or Dedicated Servers, however Grid hosting is a great affordable option. Visit this link for details how Grid hosting can improve your site:

In reply to: URL Forward Maskingpcgk64,
When I look at the site http://pamelitaandparker.com, it looks as though the domain name is pointing directly to the hosting account as it has the default “This Website is Coming Soon” page.
When I try to pull up http://pamelitaandparker.com/wordpress2, I’m getting a page not found, which generally indicates that there is no valid index file in the directory.
If you are installing WordPress into the root directory of http://pamelitaandparker.com instead of into the /wordpress2 folder, you can alleviate any need for forwarding of the domain.
You may have already spoken with support regarding this issue, but I wanted to address it here in case you were still having any further questions.

GoDaddy.comCurrently, our server configuration prevents databases versions from being able to be updated. However, as you mentioned, we do offer the option of exporting your database, creating a new one with the new version, then importing the old into the new. You can use PhpMyAdmin as @james suggested in the links prior or feel free to take a look at the links below for Go Daddy’s specific steps:
http://community.godaddy.com/help/article/1487?isc=wpfor
http://community.godaddy.com/help/article/3387?isc=wpforOne thing to note: if you change the user name/password, you’ll need to update your wp-config.php file with the new information.
