In reply to: WordPress blog on GoDaddy slow; recommended alternatives?theprizefight,
Without knowing exactly what type of hosting account you have, I’m only guessing that you might be on a regular shared hosting account because you mentioned it’s a manual install of WordPress. All of our WordPress pre-installed hosting accounts are now created on Grid Hosting. If you aren’t on Grid, you can upgrade at no additional cost and that would help with speed on the site.
I’d recommend contacting our support team at http://x.co/WeHelp
They can take a look at your account and suggest the best options as well as have any necessary research done to see what else, if anything could be done to improve your site speed.
I hope this helps!

In reply to: Help ! – Please provide a solutionericdubaiweb,
As you are using our Deluxe hosting, you should already have set up your secondsite.com domain in its own folder. The folder you created for that site will perform as its own root directory for secondsite.com. Therefore, you should not need the /test folder. I recommend re-installing the site in the folder you created as the root for your secondsite.com. Then a re-direct would not be necessary.
If you have further questions about how to do this, please feel free to contact support with more details as they can access your site and see how it’s setup and assist you with getting it all squared away: http://x.co/WeHelp.

It’s possible that there was a propagation time involved. I do see the new domain resolving to the site at this time. Please let me know if you are still having issues.

Just wanted to post a quick update regarding this. It is something we’re aware of and was not centralized to WordPress users or Go Daddy. At this time all issues regarding this should be resolved and content restored. Be sure to let our support team know if you’re still seeing issues with your account so we can assist in addressing them. We’ve posted further details on our site through the following URL:

In reply to: Resetting MySQL password? (godaddy)There are a number of factors that could lead to an issue such as this. If you have multiple installs of WordPress on your hosting account with multiple databases, it may be possible that you reviewed the wrong wp-config.php file. Additionally, there may be an issue with your cookies being bad or non-existent which can cause such a problem. Finally, you may just try resetting login credentials through the Go Daddy Hosting Control Center for your specific database. Be sure to update your info in your wp-config.php file afterward.
Should you continue to have issues, consider running this by support directly so they can dive into account specifics and assist in locating a resolution. You can reach them here: http://community.godaddy.com/support/?isc=smwpfor

In reply to: Advertisements suddenly showed up. Why??Travis,
Go Daddy would not insert an ad like this. The only ad that would appear on your site is from free hosting, and in that case a yellow banner would be placed at the top of the page.
A public whois shows that you’re not hosted with Go Daddy, but your nameservers show 000webhost.com. I would talk with them about this.

Sounds like you purchased Go Daddy’s WordPress hosting plan. @ronmerk is right, it’s not WordPress.com. This guide gives step by step instructions for uploading themes –

Yes, you do need to change the ‘DB_Host’ from localhost to the database name in the Hosting Control Center. We have a guide that walks you through the manual install process if you still need some help – http://community.godaddy.com/help/article/5110?isc=smwpforWe also have an easy install option like James mentions. Forum: Plugins
In reply to: subscribe2 with godaddy linux hosting no email confirmationIt appears that Subscribe2 has just released a bug fix patch in the last few days. If you haven’t already, you may consider upgrading to this. Additionally, it was mentioned that Subscribe2 was tested and functions on WordPress 3.0.1. If WordPress 2.9.2 is not necessary, you may consider an upgrade as this will also help keep the site safe having the most recent version of WordPress.
Having taken the steps you described, should you still be unable to to use the plugin, you may consider rolling back to the previous version which worked for you.
Let us know if you have success!

You’re right, we do recommend WP Super Cache. Have you tried it?
Disabling plugins and re-enabling them one by one can help determine if it’s a plugin causing the slowness.
If you’ve tried this and you’re still having problems, let me know.
