In reply to: Issue with Admin Panel in 3.2.1 and 3.0.4kellydelp,
I wanted to jump in and clarify the situation with PHP on your server… All GoDaddy.com shared hosting accounts (except some very specific/older Windows accounts) have the necessary PHP version to run WordPress 3.2+. For simplicity, we may not display the full PHP version number, but it’s there.
You should know, though, that our free hosting plans (the ones with the ad banner at the top) are not 100% compatible with some apps, including WordPress. I don’t think the problem you’re seeing is because of the banner, but I’d expect you to run into other issues once that is corrected. I don’t mean for this post to be a sales effort just to get you to upgrade to a paid plan, but it’s important that you know the free one won’t work properly.
FYI, if you do get a paid plan, we have a WordPress Hosting plan that automatically installs the app for you so you can’t make any mistakes with a manual install. There’s also a way to auto-install the app even if you don’t get the “WordPress Hosting” plan (but it’s not available on the free plan because of the known issues) – this short help article shows how to do it: http://x.co/YOz3

If you are still seeing issues, our support team can review the situation for you. You can reach them by phone or email 24/7 here: http://x.co/WeHelp
I’ve been able to load the site on both the web and phone, but you mentioned that it’s not consistent. This could be an ISP issue, but with more details and some research, support might be able to offer some additional suggestions.

In reply to: Unable to install WP in root directory (GoDaddy hosting)ataleb52,
2ninerniner2’s info is all correct and would help with a manual install of WordPress to your Go Daddy hosting account. However, I wanted to point out that there’s also a quick-install option that would make this whole process much easier for you.
We have a tool called Hosting Connection that is used to install and manage one or more of many different popular applications. This help article will show you how to get there and initiate the install – http://x.co/YJpH
*During the install, you will be asked what folder the app should be installed to. The default is ‘/wordpress’… if you want it installed in the root, be sure to make this blank or leave just the ‘/’.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Edit "Home Page" linkkaronwarren,
It sounds like you may just need to edit the URL in your wp-config.php file. WordPress had a pretty solid article here:

This should get you sorted out.

In reply to: Link from blog post to full story not working. Please Help!sigmanlawfirm,
This looks like its may be related to friendly URL’s. You’ll notice that the link to the full article is referencing:
http://sigmanlawfirm.com/another-example-of-a-bank-taking-advantage-of-homeowners
This isn’t a full directory or file path. Search engine friendly URL’s are something added to the .htaccess file and are usually done so by the site designer. You may try searching online for further details about friendly URL’s. You can also temporarily disable your .htaccess file to ensure this is correct.
Hope this helps!

In reply to: getting started with godaddy's wordpressmelissagattuso,
Since you said you got an account that includes WordPress, I’m assuming you got our “WordPress Hosting” service. This service comes with WordPress pre-installed, though you do still need to go through the hosting account setup process in your GoDaddy account before the site will be up and running. Once that’s complete, you would find the wp-content folder in the root of the hosting account.
If you got a standard 4GH account (not the special “WordPress Hosting”), WordPress wouldn’t be automatically installed during the initial setup process. Instead, you’d need to install it with our Hosting Connection tool after the hosting is properly setup. We have a short step-by-step guide to walk you through that install process. It’s here if you need it – http://x.co/Y7YQ
If you need any additional help with your account, feel free to call or email our Support team. Contact info is here: http://x.co/Y7YS

In reply to: WordPress loses my password constantly (NOT ME!)It sounds like your blog(s) may have an exploit in them that is trying to capture your password(s). I would reset the password, log in and check your plugins, as well as other areas for updates and reliability. WordPress recently found security issues with some plugins, details at: http://wordpress.org/news/2011/06/passwords-reset/ , Definitely make sure you don’t have one of those running or if you are that it is the latest version. ^Colby Go Daddy Social Media Team

In reply to: WordPress doesn't load sometimes but non wordpress pages does.Rahulrulez,
I had a chance to test and review your site and couldn’t get Chrome or other browsers used to produce the error you mentioned. This type of error could be related to local connectivity issues or even settings in your PHP.INI file.
Our team would like to review this if you’re still having troubles. Grab us 24/7 by phone or email: http://x.co/gdsupport

In reply to: Move Blog from One Domain to Anotherrakoom2002,
The most straight-forward way to make this change will be in your Settings->General screen within your admin page. For a single site installation you’ll see two Fields, “WordPress address (URL)” and “Site address (URL)”. Throughout your site, these are where coding will draw from and the sections you’ll need to update to the new domain.
Once done, you’ll also need to update your domain on your hosting account at Hostgator to the new one.
Finally, you’ll just need to point your Go Daddy domain to your Hostgator nameservers: http://x.co/Xqob
Hope this helps! ^Trevor
