• I just set up a GoDaddy account that includes wordpress. Do I need to install a code editor like Notepad ++ and an FTP client application for uploading files? Where do I find the WP-content folder?

  • melissagattuso,

Since you said you got an account that includes WordPress, I’m assuming you got our “WordPress Hosting” service. This service comes with WordPress pre-installed, though you do still need to go through the hosting account setup process in your GoDaddy account before the site will be up and running. Once that’s complete, you would find the wp-content folder in the root of the hosting account.

If you got a standard 4GH account (not the special “WordPress Hosting”), WordPress wouldn’t be automatically installed during the initial setup process. Instead, you’d need to install it with our Hosting Connection tool after the hosting is properly setup. We have a short step-by-step guide to walk you through that install process.
