Thanks for using EasyRotator. Please double-check that you don’t have any special characters in the file path to the images or their file names — e.g. # or % or (). These can cause problems with the preview. If this isn’t the issue, are the files on your local hard drive or an external drive?

I’m sorry the plugin hasn’t met your needs and for any confusion. As mentioned under “Requirements” on the plugin page:

Wizard application requires Adobe AIR (auto-installer included)

The installation dialog that appears at the top of the dashboard guides the admin/client through the editor application auto-installer (which installs the Adobe AIR runtime if needed). These docs cover how that works: http://www.dwuser.com/support/easyrotator/wordpress/ .

Obviously, not every plugin is perfect for every use case. EasyRotator for WordPress is well maintained and offers extensive functionality. Other plugins are more limited and/or don’t receive regular maintenance. If the installation of an external editor application doesn’t meet your use case requirements, then you should choose one of the other many options. As a general tip, I do recommend that you review the “Requirements” section before installing a plugin; this should help you avoid wasted time.

Again, I’m sorry that EasyRotator didn’t meet your needs.

Thanks for using EasyRotator. On issue 1, there’s most likely a CSS declaration in your page overriding your setting. If you manually added text-align:center then try updating it to text-align:center !important . If this doesn’t solve the problem, please share the URL of your page.

On issue 2, you’ll need to first upload the arrow images to your WordPress site, either via the Media Uploader (easiest) or FTP. Get the full http:// URLs to the images, then use those values to update the rotator code.

Thanks for your honest (albeit brutal!) feedback. I’m sorry that the EasyRotator for WordPress plugin hasn’t worked out for you yet, but we’re committed to making every effort to help you get up and running.

First, it’s important to distinguish between the requirements for <b>creating/editing</b> rotators and <b>viewing</b> rotators. As mentioned under “Requirements” on the plugin homepage on the repository:

To edit rotators, Windows or Mac is required. Linux usually works, but is not officially supported.

That <b>linked article</b> provides directions for getting up and running on Linux. Please try those instructions and post back if you run into any trouble.

The other side of the coin is <b>viewing</b> rotators. All modern browsers and platforms (including Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android, BlackBerry and other mobile devices) are fully supported. If you’re having trouble with a specific rotator, please post the URL and we’ll look into the issue.

Finally, just to clarify — the version of the plugin listed on the repository is the Standard, 100% free version. There are optional features available in the editor which require the purchase of a Pro license, but those enhancements are purely optional and <i>extend</i> the standard functionality. I couldn’t find any record of a purchase under your company name; if you have purchased an optional Pro license under an alternate address, please get in contact with our quick and responsive support staff to work out the issue. Thanks for using EasyRotator for WordPress! While it’s possible to remove the category selector from the existing rotator, the simpler solution is to re-apply the variation on that layout template that has no category selector. Here’s the one you want to apply: http://i.imgur.com/IfUnL.png.

Note that this one has no category selector along the top.
