In reply to: Plugin: MiniblogThe spelling checker plugin would have to be modified to recognize the page it’s on and know what element it would need to be positioned before. RunPHP is the same.

In reply to: Problems with Feeds after Changing to PermalinksIs it possible both of those machines are behind some kind of caching proxy?

In reply to: Problems with Feeds after Changing to PermalinksYes, I’m using that feed.

In reply to: Problems with Feeds after Changing to PermalinksI don’t see the word “narf” anywhere in that feed.

In reply to: Problems with Feeds after Changing to PermalinksSeems to me that if the feed shows up correctly when you click on it — and both your wp-rss2.php and the “feed/” URL show the same content, by the way — then it means Bloglines hasn’t updated from your feed. Supposedly they do it every hour, but who knows?

In reply to: Problems with Feeds after Changing to PermalinksTo me the “feed” URL is a prettified version of the explicit “wp-rss2.php” URL. And it works for anything. For instance, for people to subscribe to my “Asides” feed, it’s as easy as subscribing to this:
http://www.coldforged.org/archives/category/asides/feed/
Ditto for any other category. I don’t know the issues why people want to use the explicit PHP file to get the feed, so I can’t comment on what’s best for you. I advertise my “feed/” URL for syndication and as far as I know it causes no difficulties.

In reply to: Problems with Feeds after Changing to PermalinksNow, after the change it is:
http://www.googletutor.com/feed/
This is not right.
Actually that’s precisely what my feed URL is via the redirect, so when you say it isn’t right, what do you mean?

In reply to: How to change user levels permissions? There’s no easy way to do it, aside from hopping into the code and modifying the various places where those levels are checked. It’s non-trivial. Not impossible by any stretch, but there are a lot of places that would have to be changed depending on what you want to do.

In reply to: Template link is wacky!!Also, do not save your template files as Macintosh files. Save as Windows or Unix files. See here for slightly more info.

In reply to: Spelling Checker plugin for WordPressThe trickiest part about this plugin — and the subsequent supporting of it — is that it relies on an external application that has so many versions and possible installation options as to be overwhelming. I’ve tried to do as many things as possible from within the plugin to automatically detect the settings that it should use, but it’s still a crap-shoot, especially where language is concerned.

In reply to: Anti-spam plugin recommendations?I searched the forums before I wrote this post. If the searches were enlightening, I wouldn’t have felt the need to write this post.
Considering the amount of material in that search, mostly containing similar information you’re getting here, as well as the existence of the Codex with its input, I’m siding with Marc on the “exhaust other avenues before posting yet-another ‘how should I deal with comment spam’ post” stance.
Sorry it comes off as sarcastic, but when the same question appears many times those of us who try to help might get a little frustrated.
