Hi @wgruppe2021,
Just to confirm that BNFW is working as expected, please can you disable MemberPress (just for testing) and then re-test the BNFW notification to see if it works as expected? If it does, then we’ll know that MemberPress is overriding the default notification but BNFW isn’t then able to override it again. You can re-enable MemberPress after we’ve confirmed this.HI @wgruppe2021,
Are you trying to override a MemberPress notification using BNFW? Or are you trying to override one of the default notifications that WordPress sends?- This reply was modified 1 year, 2 months ago by Better Notifications for WP Support.
Hi @lukasolta,
Thanks for your message. This being sent at the same time is intended behaviour for the plugin.
From the documentation:This notification is sent out at the same time as the ‘New User Registration – For User’ email and was previously referred to as ‘New User – Welcome Email’. This doesn’t include the same information and is instead meant to provide a nice ‘introduction’ to your website. You may wish to use this to welcome users, explain where things are, and so on.
Let me know if this helps.
Hi @wgruppe2021,
Thanks for your reply. The notification that is sent out when a new user registers is called ‘New User Registration – For User’ in the Better Notifications for WordPress plugin. You can also send a notification to the admin at the same time and this notification is called ‘New User Registration – For Admin’.
If the user has lost their password and requested a password reset, you can use the ‘User Lost Password – For User’ notification.
WordPress hasn’t been able to send plain text passwords in email notifications since version 4.3, released in 2015, and instead only sends a password reset link.
If you’re receiving an email with the information posted in your first message in thier thread, it may not be being sent by BNFW and instead by another plugin, such as an eCommerce or Membership plugin. Please let me know if this helps.
Hi @wgruppe2021,
Thanks for your message.I couldn’t see a question in your post – could you clarify what you need support with?
Hi @nextbracket,
Thanks for your message.Yes, you should be able to use something like this:
<a href="[password_url]">Click here</a>Let me know if this helps.
Hi @thomaskadri,
Great! Glad you got it working. If you like BNFW and the support, please feel free to leave an honest review.
Hi @thomaskadri,
Thanks for your message. If you’re using the ‘New User Registration – For User’ notification, there shoulnd’t be a Send To field showing.
If there is, then it’s possible you have a javascript issue occuring on your site which you’ll need to resolve in order to see the correct fields for this notification. The javascript issue is most likely caused by a another theme or plugin.Let me know how you get on.
