In reply to: [JetBackup - Backup, Restore & Migrate] Migration Failed in Free Version@dan84, all backup plugins function this way. Generally the migration and restoration are completely different procedures. That’s why there’re number of other plugins designed solely for migration purposes. We can allow to complete restoration anywhere, but without migrating your database simply it won’t work. It’s better to see an error or warning prior restoration, then allow you to see crashed website after restoration. Any backup tool just keeps the current working version for the specific environment and configurations. If domain or database table prefix is being changed, this requires database refactoring which is a migration. Anyway, thanks for your feedback. We’ll look into it to see how we can improve this part to make it easier for you.

In reply to: [JetBackup - Backup, Restore & Migrate] Migration Failed in Free Version@dan84, see what’s the problem? The database prefix replacement requires advanced database refactoring which is a full migration as the domain name. Migration feature/logic is implemented in Pro versions. That’s why when db prefix is being changed, plugin offers either to use correct prefix if they aren’t interested in Pro version or retrieve Pro version.

In reply to: [JetBackup - Backup, Restore & Migrate] Migration Failed in Free Version@dan84, have you checked your restore log? Might be something has been changed in your site url (e.g. http or www changes could cause migration exception too). Could you please post the headers of your restore log file, so I’ll be able to analyze the situation for you.
Regards,
Lisa BreenNow this is fixed, you can check it out!
Note: Amazon S3 is available in Gold version and any S3 compatible server is available in Platinum version at this moment.

In reply to: [JetBackup - Backup, Restore & Migrate] Can not download after purchase@jaywebdude, in point of security reasons, BackupGuard doesn’t open direct access on backup archives anymore. Generally such issues may be related to symlinks which are regulated by server configurations. We attempt to create a symlink for the backup archive, but in case it fails you won’t be able to download your backup using BackupGuard interface (GUI). Of course your backups are there and you can download them using any FTP client or cPanel tools. The backups are being stored in “wp-content/uploads/backup-guard” directory.
For resolving the issue, please make sure that your server configurations allow symlink creation. You can contact your hosting provider and ask them to enable that feature for you.
FYI: I’d like to outline, why symlinks are so important in this case. We don’t open direct access to backup archives, but create a temporary symlink. This is done for security reasons. Nobody won’t be able to download your archives externally without your permission.
@jaywebdude, let me clarify the things for you. On the checkout page you will see two fees:
One is a startup fee for WordPress Backup Guard plugin, which is paid only once. It is like subscription fee which is charged once and is for a lifetime. The price of this fee varies depending on the plan you choose (Silver, Gold or Platinum).
Another one is a plugin yearly updates fee. Let me describe in more details. If for example you buy the platinum version of the plugin you will pay $32.00 as a startup fee and $47.95 for plugin annual updates. This option (annual updates) is active by default, that means every year upon expiration of the annual license the plugin will charge $47.95 to allow you to get another year’s updates. You won’t pay startup fee again, you will pay only for the updates. Of course you can cancel or stop annual updates from your personal dashboard whenever you want to. In this case you still will be able to use the BackupGuard plugin after a year, but you will not receive the plugin updates afterwards.
Hope you will find this information useful. Please let me know if you need anything else.
