In reply to: [WPMS Network Global Inserts] Plugin will not activateThanks for the clarification. This comment in your description is misleading:
This plugin is strongly based on the code WPMS Global Content from Neerav Dobaria.
Since the WPMS Global Content plugin author says:
WPMS Global Content allow wordpress multisite network admin to set common header and footer content.
Regardless, it would not activate on our multiste network with no such error like you describe—just a 404 redirect upon activation.
I have moved on to another solution anyway. Thanks for checking in.
I noticed this in the latest version (v.2.0.23):
Fixed: Lightbox effect is honoured by all display types
So I attempted to test the lightbox effect on an individual image in a post. I am, however, now unable to embed a NGG image in a post. After selecting the image from the NextGen gallery in the Add Media pop-up and clicking Insert into post, the pop-up does not go away and the image does not embed. Instead, the pop-up just refreshes with a blank white screen except for the NextGen Gallery title and media menu options on the left.
Closing the window reveals that only a paragraph return with non-breaking space was inserted into the post.
Sigh…
Thank you @photocrati for all the recent updates.
For the record, the Shutter Lightbox effect still does not work on single images embedded in posts or pages. It does work when clicking on thumbnails in galleries. For single images, however, the image file itself displays. All paths are correct in advanced settings and css class is applied properly to image links.

NGG v. 2.0.21Thanks Peter! Disabling AIOSEO on the Forums page did the trick, and I now understand it wasn’t generating SEO data for individual forum and topic pages anyway.
UPDATE: Steve mentioned he may contact Peter about this issue. I have disabled AIOSEO on our Forums page, which fixes the issue, so the feed above should look correct now. I’m happy to re-enable it for testing purposes upon request.
I notice this didn’t make it into v.2021.
Please consider this a feature request for the next update or advise if there is any way to quickly navigate to the gallery in which a photo was uploaded. Visiting the Mange Galleries tab and then browsing through all the galleries to update an image after upload is incredibly time consuming.
Thank you.

In reply to: How to Set Default for Username OnlyI figure I could edit wp-signup.php as follows…
<input id="signupblog" type="radio" name="signup_for" value="blog" /> <label class="checkbox" for="signupblog">Gimme a site!</label> <br /> <input id="signupuser" type="radio" name="signup_for" value="user" checked="checked" /> <label class="checkbox" for="signupuser">Just a username, please.</label>But I’d rather not hack core files, to facilitate upgrades. Any suggestions or plugin recommendations are welcome.

In reply to: How to Set Default for Username OnlyThanks for the quick reply Mika, however…
Change Allow new registrations to “User accounts may be registered.”
This option removes the radio buttons altogether, disallowing site creation. My goal is to allow them to create a site during registration, but not have that be the default.
There’s also “Logged in users may register new sites.”
With this option selected, visiting the sign-up page results in: “You must first log in, and then you can create a new site.”
Does anybody know if there is a way to show both radio buttons but have the default selected option be a username only?
Similar issue here… after updating to 2.0.11 the Shutter Lightbox effect IS working for thumbnails in galleries but it is NOT working for any of our single NGG images in posts over the past 6+ years.
When assigning the Shutter class to single images in posts, the source image opens in a new tab instead of the lightbox.
I notice the class name appears to have changed from “shutter” to “shutterset_%GALLERY_NAME%” … perhaps why it’s working for galleries, but not single images.
Using Mandigo v.1.39, if this is a theme incompatibility issue… why all of a sudden, and are we out of luck? If so, any direction for writing a “Shutter” style to bring the lightbox function back to single images is greatly appreciated.
The first solution above provided by @w.bear worked great for my hacked page template too. Thank you!
I was also able to get recent/random galleries back on other pages using the new shortcodes, defined at… http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/nextgen-gallery-shortcodes/
Thanks! I may give that a try, but I just found the new shortcodes documentation which might just do the trick too…

In reply to: [Imsanity] Header Images Getting Resized to Media Library settingSorry for the delayed response.
In all my tests, the smallest size setting was being applied to custom header images uploaded to the Media Library using various themes that had a custom Headers admin option. For now I’ve just used 1080 x 800 for all the settings.
Thank you for your hard work and feedback.

In reply to: [Imsanity] Header Images Getting Resized to Media Library settingSorry, I know this topic is resolved, but I’m really curious how I might address this issue with certain themes.
What function is imsanity using and what would I look for or ask theme developers when inquiring about any custom upload functions they’ve used in themes that are having header images re-sized by Imsanity?
All the themes I’ve tested have an admin page for uploading a custom header at /wp-admin/themes.php?page=custom-header but the images are getting uploaded to the Media library, and I think that is why the plugin is firing to work it’s magic.
Thanks in advance for any direction you can give me to try and work with the themes to get them to play nice together. I’ve already got a headache from our users uploading huge files.

In reply to: [Imsanity] Header Images Getting Resized to Media Library settingThanks for the quick reply!
I replicated the issue on three different themes using the WordPress Appearance->Header admin page at:
/wp-admin/themes.php?page=custom-headerI did try cranking up the “other” option and uploading much larger images, but they were clearly being shrunk and then enlarged based on the quality loss.
I just tested this on Twenty Twelve with “other” set to only 400 and the header published at only 400 wide, so the images being upsized were likely a result of some theme specific header image resize implementation as you suspected.

In reply to: [Imsanity] Multisite – batch resize on all sub blogs+1 for the ability to select multiple WPMS sites for bulk resize! A global resize may get a bit resource intensive on a community like ours with 1300+ blogs, but the ability to bulk resize images on multiple sites at once would be great!
