Navigating to Gallery After Upload

    Since the recent NextGen plugin updates, there is no longer a link for quickly navigating to the selected gallery upon completion of uploading images. In previous versions, after uploading images to a gallery, the page would refresh with a link to visit that gallery. Now we get a pretty pop-up status indicating “Upload Complete” with the number of images, but no quick way to visit the gallery.

    With numerous galleries, navigating to the gallery to and edit meta data for the uploaded images in now a time consuming nightmare. Even the gallery ID numbers are now missing from the Gallery drop down list.

    Please add back the link to the gallery upon upload of images. Or, consider allowing meta data to be added to each image somewhere during the upload process. If I am missing some new way to edit image data upon upload, please advise. Thank you.

    The link was never there on our multisite installs, but did help make managing our standard WP site galleries more efficient. Now with the ID numbers gone too, we must manually navigate through all our galleries after each upload to add info about images. #endrant

    I notice this didn’t make it into v.2021.

    Please consider this a feature request for the next update or advise if there is any way to quickly navigate to the gallery in which a photo was uploaded. Visiting the Mange Galleries tab and then browsing through all the galleries to update an image after upload is incredibly time consuming.

    This feature was removed and hasn’t been re-introduced.

    I have no idea why. So much time is wasted all because a simple link is no longer there.

    It’s clearly not just me then who would like to see a way to easily navigate to selected galleries after upload!

    Can anyone from Technocrati please reply to this concern?

    As it is, with a large number of galleries it can literally take minutes for locate the gallery to which you just uploaded photos. We either need the ability to add meta data during upload or have a link to the gallery instead of a simple “upload complete” notice.

    @agreda – Agreed. Unfortunately I cannot say when this feature will be added/re-introduced back into NextGEN Gallery but I can say it has been added as a “personal” Feature Request to our developers.
