see curioso’s post above that indicates what lines of code need to be replaced. I was having the same issue and it worked for me.

i dont think it’s mozilla … i think its your host. I’m on a fractional T1 here at work, browsing with IE6 … page never even loads, just times out.

there was a period of time where tables were used as THE way to create layout in designs and so people don’t know any different. Tables are *intended* for data, like ms excel.
There has been a fight, quiet at first, now quickly gaining strength for CSS. This is meant to separate design from content. Everything you can do with a table, you can do 5 times better with CSS … and there are things that you CANT do with tables that you can with CSS. The way WP is setup, it’s really not practical to use tables. If you are barely familiar with CSS or simply dont want to mess with it you can find styles that work with WP out of the box here: http://www.alexking.org/index.php?content=software/wordpress/styles.php
There is also a plethora of CSS resources on the web (do a google search), and one book i highly reccommend is Eric Myers’ “CSS, The Definitive Guide” … its a great teaching aide for beginners and wonderful reference for those that know they know it, but just cant seem to remember what that syntax is or what it does. (http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/css2/)

wow …you really shouldnt provide SO much information … that would be bad.
whats your website address, what have to done to try and fix the problem. you DO know that the categories don’t show up until there is a post FOR that category, right? have you actually posted anything yet?
you’ve got to meet us at least half way if there is any chance of you getting help

nah … i’ve only met a few REAL morons in my short life. it took me a while to pay attention and realize you could change the text. it took me even longer to figure out that the preview option is what puts a photo in post on the main page. ; )

i dont know how the wordpress levels translate into file permissions, but given these are simply image files a chmod of at least 775 would be nice, so that we can delete them from sources outside of the WP interface.
sorry about the input field *blush*…
sounds like you have some cool plans for this plugin … i look forward to seeing them.

why are you putting personal information in your posts?
you’re like 25, a former student of ACU and now enrolled withTSTC majoring in DESIGN TECHNOLOGY. You live in abilene, are single … and i even know that you have hazel eyes.
Now, if you dont have the common sense NOT to provide your information in posts or insecure forums/conversations/etc. then you deserve every form of the supposed ‘harrassment’ you’ve received. maybe you should learn from this lesson and move on.

why have “people threatened your life and site?” … it’s in no way controversial and you haven’t posted in 8 months. no need to be concerned about posts made while anonymous or not logged in…they dont link to your profile. the one’s you have made while logged in, you can delete on your own.
just disappear and quit complaining. and IF you are actually being threatened .. contact your local authorites ..dont blame it on a public forum that you willingly post to and provide information for. oh and can you tape the conversation you have with your local authorities …? i want to hear how long they laugh at you.
    regards — Michael 🙂

umm …yea … i set my permalinks up with yyyy/mm/post-id and it works fine.
possibly before you were messing around with the permalinks and forgot to update your .htaccess?

so i finished migrating my WP style to my static art galleries and i must say, it’s nice to have some consistency between the two sites.
have a look if you are so inclined : http://art.synapticjunctions.com

while the concept is pretty unique and groovy, it’s also annoying. if i had no idea what clicking the bottles would do, i would be utterly confused. and i have to click back just to change the theme.
adding a style switcher on the actual blog would greatly reduce the annoyance factor, so that at least i can try out the different styles with relative ease.
i’m also not much of a fan for splash pages, the over-used relic of the late 90’s and early 00’s. but that’s simply a personal thing … a ‘love/hate’ issue, never ‘sort of like’ 😉
ultimately you’re going to do what you want with it (at least i would hope so, you’re paying for it) and this is merely my personal take on it.
on a less cynical note, i do indeed like the content, layout, and design !

and if you just cant figure out how to spell something, there’s also a “dictionary” button that you can click … it takes you to dictionary.com < sarcasm >… you know .. in case you forgot how to flip through the pages of a real one.< /sarcasm >

you bring up a good point Oisin, yet i think that if i was completely devoid of color it would be a bore to the eyes. so i made some minute changes to the layout to bring some consistency (both across all links) and in concept. I tried a little darker dashed underline on the hover, per your suggestion, and i quite agree.
i also decided to ‘create’ the concept behind my design “color in a colorless world” … the main layout being surrounded by subtle blue, blue and green links turning to grey hues when hovered, and the occasional image preview in the posts.
“he’s gone a tad overboard in thinking this all out” you may be saying …but by doing so, i now have a benchmark for every element, every piece of the site … if it doesn’t fit with the design concept, then it doesn’t go in. that idea in itself is not something new to me, however i was having trouble narrowing down what exactly my design theme was. so thanks!
