In reply to: [Interactive Image Map Plugin - Draw Attention] PHP Errors@maxms Thanks for letting us know, we will look into these errors. Could you please share what version of PHP is running on your server?
@klaansoo I appreciate your patience, we were able to track down the issue you initially reported. Our developers are going to get this fixed soon, we’ll keep the thread updated.
Hello @csparrow
It seems like this could be accomplished by writing a shortcode that you could drop into the more info area of Draw Attention. You can create the shortcode so that it could accept attributes for the posts so the same shortcode could be re-used over and over.
If you’re not familiar with creating a shortcode, I found this helpful article that can give you some instructions on how to code one: https://www.isitwp.com/get-custom-field-value-with-shortcode/
I hope that helps, let us know if you have more questions!
@tamierp Could you paste in the text from Google docs using the hotspot Text Editor instead? This will let you see if there’s any styling being applied and lets you remove it.
Google docs usually add invisible styling information to text and that’s what’s being applied to the hotspot content.
The editor used in Draw Attention is “What you see is what you get”, it doesn’t filter the text, it just displays what you give it.
One way to make sure you’re not including any styling information is to convert your text to plain text:
- On Mac: https://support.lesley.edu/support/solutions/articles/4000111343-how-to-convert-a-document-into-plain-text-in-textedit-on-a-mac
- On Windows:https://www.digitalcitizen.life/beginners-guide-notepad/
If that still doesn’t help, could you reach out to us at support@wpdrawattention.com? We’d be happy to continue troubleshooting with you through there.
Sorry to see you’re having trouble with the content formatting for the hotspots 🙁 It actually looks like there’s some styling being applied to the text in your hotspots and it’s already adding the font? Were you able to get that issue resolved?
As for the space in between paragraphs, it looks like it’s inheriting this styling from your theme. You can use the following CSS to adjust it only for the Draw Attention hotspots:
.featherlight-content .hotspot-content {
line-height: 1em !important;
}
Could you try that out and see if that helps? We also have a guide to show you how to add CSS: https://wpdrawattention.com/document/customizing-draw-attention-css/`For anyone having similar issues, this turned out to be a conflict with the Customizr Pro theme’s option for allowing images to load on scroll.
We found that the following steps resolved the issue:
Head over to the WP-Admin Area > Appearance > Customize > Advanced Options > Website Performance and toggle off the “Load images on scroll” option. Once you’ve done that, save and publish those changes and visit the pages that Draw Attention is embedded on.

In reply to: [Interactive Image Map Plugin - Draw Attention] Add svg?@andyeverywhere Unfortunately, we do not currently support drawing hotspots on SVG images as the SVG image format is not supported by WordPress core. Please convert your image to png, jpg, or gif so the hotspots can appear correctly placed and sized. Please refer to our documentation on Hotspots out of place or incorrectly sized – https://wpdrawattention.com/document/hotspots-out-of-place-or-incorrectly-sized/
@grct-webmaster thanks for giving that a try. Could you reach out to our support team at support@wpdrawattention.com? We’d be happy to continue investigating.

In reply to: [Interactive Image Map Plugin - Draw Attention] drawable for shopifyHello @nosie89
Is your Shopify shop hosted on WordPress? If so, you could add a Draw Attention image to whatever page/post that you’ve embedded your Shopify Buy Button on.
Feel free to test it out by downloading the free plugin from our WordPress repo page: https://wordpress.org/plugins/draw-attention/
And, let us know if you have more questions by reaching out to the support email support@wpdrawattention.com
Hello @grct-webmaster
I’m sorry to see that’s happening on the page 🙁 I experienced the same issue when I looked at the page for the first time and every time I cleared my browser’s cache.
One thing I do notice is that the Draw Attention preview page seems to be working normally which leads me to believe this is a plugin or theme conflict issue.
Could you try the following troubleshooting steps? We recommend that you do these on a staging site if possible or make sure to create a backup on your live site before trying these steps.
1) See if it’s a plugin conflict using the Plugin Detective tool – https://wordpress.org/plugins/plugin-detective/
2) See if it’s a theme conflict by switching to a default WordPress theme.Plugin Detective has a process to help you quickly identify which plugin might be causing the problem. Once you start Plugin Detective, just mark Draw Attention and Plugin Detective as a “required plugin” for the test and navigate to the page where you’re having issues. Plugin Detective will deactivate all the other plugins on your site and you can confirm that Draw Attention is working properly.
Let us know what you find.
Could you reach out to us at support@wpdrawattention.com, and send us a link to the page you’re working on?
We’d be happy to take a look at the page and see why the highlighted area is not working.
>> I’m not sure what you mean when you ask how the image is “embedded”. Clearly it is not!
>> I do not know what a “text editor widget” is or where to find it.
To add the interactive image to a page on your website, you can embed it by simply typing in “[drawattention]” on the page. Here’s a video to show you what that looks like: https://wpdrawattention.com/document/create-your-first-draw-attention-image-free/Hello @rgwillot,
Could you let us know how you’ve been embedding the Draw Attention image on your website?
To add a Draw Attention image in the Free plugin, you’ll need to paste the following shortcode into a text editor widget to display it on a page or post.
[drawattention]

Hello @adambadura,
We do have a way to link directly to hotspots, this guide shows you how to collect the link – https://wpdrawattention.com/document/build-link-opens-hotspot-page-load/
At the moment we don’t have a way to create a mouseover effect like you mentioned. If you used the direct links to each hotspot, the user would need to click the link to see the title of the hotspot display on the Draw Attention image.
But, this feedback does not happen when each hotspot is set to the “Go to URL” action. This only happens when the hotspots are set to “Show More Info”.
Let us know if you have more questions.
@faunlf No worries! I’m glad we could get this figured out 🙂
I hope you have a lovely new year as well and feel free to share your final Draw Attention creation with us!
