In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] Display list of tasksThat’s great. I’m glad it worked for you and I’m sorry it wasn’t easier to figure out.
I’ve noted that you’d like us to add categories for volunteer opportunities. That is definitely one we’ve heard before, so thank you for voicing that.
Take care and let us know if any other questions come up.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] Display list of tasksThanks for clarifying. You can definitely show a list of the volunteer opportunities on a page. If you want to show a list of the one-time volunteer opportunities, add the text
[one_time_volunteer_opps]on the page where you want them to display. If you want to show flexible volunteer opportunities (those without a fixed date and time) on another page, simply put the text[flexible_volunteer_opps]within your page’s content.Let me know how that works for you.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] Display list of tasksThanks for getting back to me Art. Can you clarify what you mean by the word “tasks”? I’m still not certain what you’re referring to.
If you simply want to link to different volunteer opportunities you can always create a page with a list of links. I think that would definitely be the simplest approach.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] Display list of tasksThanks for reaching out @artju. I’m not quite sure what you mean by “a page with list of tasks”. The plugin allows you to create individual volunteer opportunities that website visitors can sign up for. If you wanted visitors to be able to sign up for different tasks I’d suggest creating a new opportunity for each one.
I’m also not quite sure what you mean by “It would be useful to have a category for each task and be able to select the category for the list.” Can you give me a little more detail on that front?
Have a good one.

We’re happy to help @debsch. Let me know if any other questions come up.

Thanks for reaching out @debsch. I’ll try to address each item individually.
Please tell me how I can change the “Find Out More” link to “Sign up”?
In order to change this text you’ll want to hook into the
wivm_read_more_textfilter which allows you to change the “Find Our More” text to whatever you’d like. I know you mentioned being comfortable with PHP, but if you need more information on how filters work in WordPress you should check out https://developer.wordpress.org/plugins/hooks/filters/.And also, the link goes to http://mysite.org/volunteer-opportunity/wednesday-art-lessons/ How do I remove/change the “volunteer-opportunity” part of the URL?
In order to adjust the URL prefix you’ll want to hook into the
wivm_opp_rewritefilter that’s built into the plugin. It’s worth noting that any change here will apply across the board to all volunteer opportunities. Also, once you implement this change it likely won’t show up until you refresh your permalinks by saving them again by going to the WordPress admin, then Settings >> Permalinks >> Click the “Save Changes” button. And I’d like parents to be able to sign up more than one child to a class, but it looks like the sign up form uses the email field to check if the ‘volunteer’ has already signed up to this ‘opportunity’. Is there a way to change this to include the first name in this check?
At this point there is not a way to allow the same email address to sign up multiple times. The plugin uses the email address to identify a single person and track their volunteer activity. Allowing someone to sign up more than once for an opportunity would have a ripple effect that would break a number of other parts of the plugin.
——It’s worth noting that the volunteer management system is really meant for volunteer opportunities, and not for courses or learning management. I’d recommend looking at a separate plugin to help with that such as the WooCommerce Sensei plugin (https://woocommerce.com/products/sensei/).
I hope that’s helpful. Let us know if you have any other questions.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] Coding error on volunteer pagesHi @eniayoogunsola2016, we had some time to dive into this a little more today and were able to release an update to the volunteer management plugin that will hopefully resolve this issue. Can you try updating our plugin to version 1.3.8 to see if that fixes the problem?
Thanks a ton.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] Coding error on volunteer pagesThanks for reaching out @eniayoogunsola2016. This seems to be an issue with the theme or a plugin that outputs the Google, Facebook and Twitter page descriptions. It’s adding the “Find Out More” links to the end of each description. If it’s a plugin can you try disabling it to see if that fixes the problem?

In reply to: [Nonprofit Board Management] List board member email on front end websiteThat all makes sense @snakej444. If you have a web developer you’re working with to build the site I’d suggest having them work through this with you. While the steps to customize the template are fairly straightforward, working with files on a web server can get tricky if you’re not used to it.
Good luck and let me know if any other questions come up.

In reply to: [Nonprofit Board Management] List board member email on front end websiteThanks for the quick response @snakej444. You can locate your theme’s folder within your website’s files at
/wp-content/themes/name-of-theme/wherename-of-themewill be a folder with a name that’s likely very similar to the name of your website’s theme. For example, the default Twenty Seventeen theme is in a folder calledtwentyseventeen.Let us know if you have any other questions.

In reply to: [Nonprofit Board Management] Login BrokenThanks for reaching out @billymitchelldesign. We actually tested the Nonprofit Board Management plugin this morning on WordPress 4.9 and it worked without any issues. We will likely be releasing a minor update to the plugin a little later today, but those changes won’t impact what you’re seeing.
Would you mind disabling all other plugins on your site to see if the issue still occurs? If not, then it’s likely one of those other plugins causing the problem. Let me know what you find and if you have any other questions.
