In reply to: [Nonprofit Board Management] Sort Board MembersThanks for reaching out @july1962. Like you mentioned, there isn’t currently a way to drag and drop board members into the order you want. I’m actually not aware of a way to do this with pages or posts in WordPress without using a plugin. Unfortunately, those plugins tend to work with content instead of users, since users aren’t build in WordPress to have any kind of ordering functionality.
That said, if you’re a developer or are working with one, you should be able to utilize code to order the board members how you want. For displaying on both the frontend and backend of the website, you can adjust the order by hooking into the
winbm_users_servingfilter within WordPress. That filter will give you access to a list of all of the board members and allow you to order them however you’d like.Let me know if you have any other questions and have a good one.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] No sign up buttonThat’s great to hear and thank you for the kind words. If you have some time, it would be incredible if you left an honest review of the plugin at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wired-impact-volunteer-management/reviews/. Those reviews always help other nonprofits find the plugin.
Thanks and have a great weekend.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] No sign up buttonI’m happy to hear you got the sign up form worked out @kkrhw. In order to see a list of all the volunteers who signed up for a specific opportunity you’ll want to go to the edit screen for that particular opportunity. Once you’re there you should see a box like the one below which lists the volunteers, their information and a button to remove their RSVP.
If you don’t see it on the edit screen for a specific opportunity it might be hidden. You can show it again using the “Screen Options” tab at the top right of the page.
Let me know how it goes and if you have any other questions.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] timezone mistake in opportunitiesThanks for looking into it a little further. This is most likely an issue with your hosting provider. It could be a plugin or something within WordPress, but that’s less likely.
I’d recommend taking a look at https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/a/301400/26202 to see if that helps you figure it out.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] Add a custom fieldThanks for reaching out @edkestler. Unfortunately, the system doesn’t include the ability to add custom fields to the interest form. We have had organizations set something like this up in the past, but they’ve required custom coding. If this custom field is critical to your organization my best recommendation would be to work with your web developer to utilize a tool like Gravity Forms, then code it to integrate with the volunteer system. If that isn’t possible then it might be worth looking at using a different plugin entirely to allow your potential volunteers to express interest.
Good luck and let us know if you have any other questions.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] timezone mistake in opportunitiesI’m sorry you’re running into issues @kindred. I know you mentioned the server timezone is set to New York, but what is the timezone setting on your WordPress installation? You can find this setting by logging into WordPress and going to Settings >> General >> find the “Timezone” setting. Sometimes an issue with that setting can be the cause here.

Thanks for reaching out @slsweb. If you’re looking for an RSS feed so you can pull the volunteer opportunities to another website you should be able to go to https://southloopschool.org/feed/?post_type=volunteer_opportunity. Unfortunately, since this is the default WordPress feed you won’t be able to grab some of the custom information for the opportunities, but hopefully this is a start.
If you’re looking to simply list the opportunities on a page of your website, you can place either the
[one_time_volunteer_opps](for one-time opportunities) or[flexible_volunteer_opps](for flexible opportunities) shortcodes within the content of your site. That will display a list of opportunities directly on a page.I hope that’s helpful. Let me know how it goes.

In reply to: [Nonprofit Board Management] how do board members log into the site? Thanks for reaching out @tcoms. Board members would access the board information by logging in just like you do. So, most likely they would go to your domain with /wp-admin on the end to find the login form. For example, the URL might look something like http://www.domain.org/wp-admin.
If you want to provide board members an easy way to get to that URL on the frontend of the website, I’d recommend adding a link to it in your website’s navigation, sidebar or footer.
I hope that’s helpful. Let us know if you have any other questions.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] Displaying volunteers on front endThanks for reaching out @esp5466. Unfortunately, there is currently no way in the plugin to list who has already signed up or how many spots have already been filled. If it’s something you really want there are two possible options. First, you can manually note how many total spots were available and who has already signed up within the content of the volunteer opportunity. This is obviously tedious and time consuming, but is easy and inexpensive. The other option is to work with a web developer to write code to automate what you’re looking to do. That of course would be much easier to manage in the long run, but would have an upfront cost.
I hope that’s helpful. As always, let us know if you have any other questions.
