Thanks for reaching out @snakej444. You can show each board member’s email address on the frontend of your website by customizing the template for the [list_board_members] shortcode.

You’ll want to follow these steps:

    1. Copy the file at templates/list-board-members.php into your current theme’s folder.
    2. Adjust the text within that file to use PHP to display the variable $email within the template file wherever you want it to show up. You would want to write something like <?php echo $email; ?> wherever you want to display the email address.
    3. Type the [list_board_members] shortcode within WordPress wherever you want to display the board members.

That’s it. Unfortunately, it does require a small amount of coding, but hopefully you can play around and get it to work how you want. Let us know how it goes.

I sent a question back. How do I locate my current theme’s folder?

Thanks for the quick response @snakej444. You can locate your theme’s folder within your website’s files at /wp-content/themes/name-of-theme/ where name-of-theme will be a folder with a name that’s likely very similar to the name of your website’s theme. For example, the default Twenty Seventeen theme is in a folder called twentyseventeen.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

I am using godaddy and I am using their temporary domain set up. I haven’t set up the real domain. So I don’t know how to get to the website files. I’ll have to contact godaddy to see how I get to those folders.

That all makes sense @snakej444. If you have a web developer you’re working with to build the site I’d suggest having them work through this with you. While the steps to customize the template are fairly straightforward, working with files on a web server can get tricky if you’re not used to it.

Good luck and let me know if any other questions come up.
